My fellow citizens let us not bring our personal hatreds or likings to this argument. US is simply following their law. It is not a question of Obama or who? It is all about justice for all. There are no two ways about it. During the 2007/2008 violence in Kenya Obama was not the US president, the Republicans were in Power, George W Bush was the president then. Those who peddle lies that Obama is the force behind their ICC cases may get much disappointed when Obama leaves office. I bet if the Republicans get power after Obama and the Kenyan ICC cases are still on, we will know that republicans are republicans. They are swift into action when a decision is already made. Democrats are usually democratic in their decisions and actions, a little bit hesitant in taking action. Apartheid in south Africa was brought to an abrupt end by republicans who put an intense pressure on the then president, Declark . Attack on Iraq and Afghanistan, were initiated by the Republicans. What about the collapse of former Soviet Union, was it not Republicans who were in power? Whatever US is doing has got no bearing on the Individual president, but rather policy and laws of that Country.

The salient point here is that Uhuru will be going to attend a UN session in the United States of America, a country Kenya has over decades shared very cordial relationship, a country whose president, we like it or not has direct Kenyan heritage (actually if Obama jets into Kenya tomorrow, he can pick his Kenyan passport just like any other Kenyan) and he's not been invited by the White House. Kenya has over the years been viewed and respected as the star in Africa. Most progressive nations looked for an opportunity to rub shoulders with Kenya, so why are we not sad that we have been relegated into a pariah state by our erstwhile partners? And just to clean the misconception about Obama: he's not a failed president and USA is not a failing economy. The view that he's a failed president is a GOP hate campaign fueled by the fact that he's black. USA is the only country that has pulled out of the international economic recession and has recorded reasonable positive growth.

Who is advising Mr President on foreign relations matters? The US is not against Kenya in anyway and neither is the US President. These kind of BS these Muppets around the President lead him to believe that ICC was just a small fly and it will eventually go away instead handling these matters in our soil. Now guess what..its a big thorn in our flesh and a wrong PR for the President.
The East you see today whether China Indian etc..,actually respect the US and doesn't show arrogance and disrespect with matters of foreign policy. They say " all politics are local" play your little politics at home but not overseas putting Kenyan's image at risk. We're not a "mtura" Republic.

It is sad to read comments of Kenyans desperately trying to ignore the fact that Uhuru is the President of Kenya, whether we like it or not - insults and damning wishes won't change that simple fact, insulting your fellow commentators won't change that fact. Hold your peace and wait for the day he is NOT president anymore, then and only then can you celebrate

Until u remember the US funds close to 30% of UN cash and resources, the UN sits on US soil even though the UN grounds are called 'sovereign' lands,...and also the US sits at the UNSC calling virtually most of the shots if Russia/China dont stop em...
UN is a mellow US.

Exactly what would Uhuru or Kenya for that matter gain from "an official state" visit to Washington?. Manna from heaven?. Uhuru is the Kenyan President, like it or not and US is just a bully. As much as there is a difference in the visit to the UN and official visit to the country I see Public Relation to preempt what is unknown. They want UK to meet with President Obama but not sure it will be possible. I am not sure of whether UK is allowed to travel to US or not but in the eventuality he isn't they come with excuse of not having received official confirmation. September is around the corner

Mugabe is a regular at the UN in NY. He does not even merit a mention in Western media when he makes what he considers chest thumping trips to NY. Childish antics by some African "leaders" is getting very boring. Western leaders have serious issues on their hands to be bothered by tin-pot president in name only jokers from Africa. When the "leaders" warrant punishment, it is duly meted out. For most part they are ignored. How do you severely chastise a poor diasbled individual unless his/her actions are well beyond the pale? Pity is the right reaction. Name a single African country that can withstand a missile attack? Who would really bother?

With all the support Uhuru has managed to get from our Chinese brothers, he doesn't need any US conditional support for now. Let him first deal with the $5 billion, otherwise Kenya may be choked by too much funding. And so, no big deal not meeting President Obama now and in future.

Obama is seen as a failed president in his country anyway. USA is an important country buts its ability to control the world is declining very fast.
Countries that have seen real development like the Asian tigers did not do so because of US friendship or help. US is not trying to develop anyone and idol worshipers of Obama need to know that.
