I hope a Kenyan mzalendo is listening. The common mwananchi maimed and killed his neighbor and gained nothing in the process. We should learn a lesson and remember that the true judgement lies with the creator. P.E.Victims will only find solace in heaven, otherwise no type of truth will heal the scars.

ESHITETI STEVE • 11 years ago

so who tells him that having a cabinet majorly of two ethnic communities is not tribalism. let him fight the very vice he is now entrenching in the current government.or is it the case of the pot calling the kettle black

Toili • 11 years ago

The arm of law catches all offenders and for those who suffer the blow will only wipe their tears if Ruto is cleared by the rule of law because Ruto behaves and act as if he is above the law or rule law is not in his dictionary

Sylvester • 11 years ago

Truth never rot. Lies has no foundation to build a society. A section of Kenyans have ever lied and manipulated the process of leadership of this country, getting even innocent people like Ruto mixed up in the murks. God is Great truth will be said and time is running out for trickstars. ICC, again ICC.

MaizeScandal_23b • 11 years ago

One thing stands out. Ruto lying to people that Raila engineered the cases but now doing a 180. So let's put this in perspective . This is the very same man who says victims are lying. Really ? Who is the liar here ? Between the victims and Ruto, Ruto has a record lying to the public so to me its Ruto giving hot air. Ruto has to stop calling victims liars especially seeing how he is changing his story lately. He lied to the public.

mazembe1980 • 11 years ago

Wajamaa, ukweli is coming out now....My question to Ruto is this: Why did you join with Uhuru and you knew very well that Kibaki and Uhuru are the ones who took you to ICC and not Raila? We in rift valley are still surprised the way you went to 'bed' with your enemy???

truthbtold • 11 years ago

I totally agree...it seems like sang was sayin the truth

adopted kenyan • 11 years ago

Now the mud slinginfg starts and its everyman for himself
I think maybe this is why so many suddenly want the trial stopped In case thier name comes up as well!

Fireman • 11 years ago

But Ruto lied over and over to the Kalenjin that Raila was behind his tribulations and they took it as gospel truth. Now the facts are coming out. The the least expected of WSR is a public apology to Mr RAO the former premier of Kenya

Boaz WARUKU • 11 years ago

Mr. Hooper, Ruto joined forces with Kibaki-backers led by Uhuru to retain the status quo. If that status quo was not good for him, why join the architects and later cry betrayal?

Benson Muriuki • 11 years ago

The common mwananchi is to blame for all that went wrong in 2007/2008. The fact is that Kenyans in general and some sections of the population in particula should never be subjected to competative situations; they fight, kill or commit suicide over marital arguments, sport, religion, politics, school grades or even historical predipositions that can be explained through the spirit of competation. "Losers" vent their frustration on whoever is in the vicinity; neighbour, "the other"- tribe, clan, community. "Winners" brag and even "force" non-interested parties to get interested; violently if need be. When not competing, Kenyans build their nation peacefully. Otherwise it is difficult to comprehend how one can blame incitment as reason for killing a neighbour.

Sylvester • 11 years ago

Clear statement I agree.

Prophet Kalama • 11 years ago

So will also Kibaki go hague?

matigari • 11 years ago

it seems we took the wrong people to the hague

Upende_Usipende • 11 years ago

Haya! The truth is slowly being revealed.

OK • 11 years ago

Not that I disagree with Ruto on any of this, I just wonder why he didn't speak up at the time? Instead he cozied up to the President. It even led on an open fight between Kibaki and Odinga as Odinga tried to sack him (Ruto) from the cabinet for the maize scandal and Kibaki kept reinstating him before investigations were even carried out. Now he's throwing the former prez under the bus! Kenyan politics of impunity, dog-eat-dog, and mediocrity never cease to amaze. #FailedState

maddy • 11 years ago

all true, kibaki encouraged nepotism and ethnicity and never fought corruption for a day. Ojk, witht hat said, Ruto claims kibaki did not fight nepotism and corruption, how is Ruto fighting the vice?

Marisa • 11 years ago

I hope the old man is listening, time has come!

Omondi Akura • 11 years ago

If Kibaki's government was as described above, then Uhuru's government is Kibaki's government on steroids!!

anto • 11 years ago

It is apparent that this ICC cases are doing more damage than good to us Kenyans. Already the whole thing is heavily inclined on tribal lines and I am wondering whether this whole episode will not leave us even more polarized.

adopted kenyan • 11 years ago

The one thingyou can be certain of is the ICC judges/process iarenot on a tribal lines but on justice

MaizeScandal_23b • 11 years ago

For there to be Reconcilliation , the bitter truth has to be faced. We will be stronger for it.

tudinde • 11 years ago

The title of this story should have been"WHO IS THE REAL "KIBAKI"

jham • 11 years ago

Let me rot slowly. He screwd the hopes of many kenyans and see where we are headed now.

CKM • 11 years ago

Kibaki is now enjoying his retirement in peace and is a very wealthy man.

Rodgers Vele • 11 years ago

Kibaki might not be charged any where on this earth but is not so obvious that during his tenure as the president of Kenya that Negative ethnicity was built more than ever, Nepotism was practiced openly in government, Kenyan's lost trust amongst themselves, stealing of elections was done openly, Kenyan's Killed one other more than ever before. In conclusion Kibaki's presidency in this country was a curse.

Patriot • 11 years ago

I couldnt agree more

Samuel • 11 years ago

Indeed what provoked the 2007/2008 P.E.V was when the Chairman of ECK was hijacked, held hostage, driven to State House and forced to declare the Kibaki the winner.

rontos • 11 years ago

It is a fact that many Kenyans from certain regions and ethnic communities also lost their jobs on flimsy grounds only to be replaced by people from Central Kenya. Some were sacked from state corporations after being branded as "KANU people" or "Moi people" and many denied public opportunities on the same basis. May it never happen again under Jubilee though the signs are emerging again.

jeriksteel • 11 years ago

Only kenyans will make this change. Not jubilee. You should hire those that you can work with successfully.Lakini, at some point every employer needs to take hiring seriously and go for skills rather than ethnicity. Forget GOK to initiate this.

Awiti Masiga • 11 years ago

Very true historical facts

Felle solemma • 11 years ago

Defense has played into the hands of prosecutor in that it adds to the view that Kalenjins had a bone to grind with Kibaki regime.

In politics, promises are just that: Promises.

simple sam 2012 • 11 years ago

leave mzee kibaki alone

jeriksteel • 11 years ago

My, the wording on the title and first paragraph! Ruto made these comments or the defence did? Misleading.

ombiro • 11 years ago

Waaa the truth is coming out or they are just tales.

wangu • 11 years ago

what are winded story.

Moses the red • 11 years ago

Did Ruto only realize now that Kibaki was a dishonest and selfish leader? Why didn't he tell that to his supporters this past election?

+254 observer • 11 years ago

I didn't know that Kibaki was on trial at the Hague!

Felle solemma • 11 years ago

Defense is now giving reason for the violence; thus playing into the prosecutors hands.

ace2012 • 11 years ago

The truth about the Kibaki regime being revealed in a foreign court, yet we want to have a democratic country with "FREE" media that should have exposed KIBAKI's many many shortcoming after 2002 among tons and tons of other incidences of IMPUNITY. The media in Kenya buries their head in the sand when its convenient and then rears its useless head when its convenient! We always blame the police for corruption and give them the corruption CUP. You have no IDEA how much that CUP belongs to the KENYAN MEDIA

Sorghum • 11 years ago

Truth will set you FREE. I know "this" will show

Liz Charlotte • 11 years ago

The defense counsel gives testimony?

Alfotula • 11 years ago

And why did you mislead your people against a very innocent man, Raila? Your troubles were brewed inside PNU and you know it and yet you insisted on fighting Raila. May God pay you back in kind.

Dakitarijeff • 11 years ago

Raila is more guilty by calling mass action and saying Kenya was to be ungovernable if kibaki won. There has to be be a second wave of accused and both Raila and Kibaki will be on the docks, especially Raila.

yayaarap methuselah • 11 years ago

No one was misled, people voted individually!

Hezron Youlou Mabiala • 11 years ago

Wawawawawawwa, ruto has set the cat among the pigeons. I still dont know why he lied to the electorate that raila was behind his woes.
