We are fast turning into a Banana republic and this image must change. If police cant even conduct credible investigations, where shall we catch criminals? This sounds like gangland assassination movie. It is impossible to ignore the political angle on this murder but again why kill the lawyer?

Governor Lusaka; we want to rely on you to come out on creatively on dealing with these heinous criminal acts in the County. You have to act like yesterday!

Watu wa Western wanafanya nini Cord tena ?

LeaningTowerOfPISA • 10 years ago

"Western provincial police boss Mr Alfred Ombaba confirmed the incident
saying police have launched investigations into the matter." They are serving their masters Voice. They can only deny or confirm as people continue to lose their lives.

LeaningTowerOfPISA • 10 years ago

What is ICC still waiting for? They were supposed to come and investigate the recent mass killing in Western Kenya?

LeaningTowerOfPISA • 10 years ago

Am wondering why the so called PCs DCs and all those gasias are still doing under the new constitution. Bring the referendum so that we get rid of these KANU jiggers before it is too late. They job is only to confirm or deny very serious allegations. They keep on killing, and sucking the already dead and desperate citizens.

God can you afford to leave the innocent being killed in such unruly situation? Mighty one why would not you one day reveal in the day light of these killers and those behind if they are there indeed? Do not let the blood of the innocent being poured in this mischievous circumstances. RIP Wanyama.

Why is the media playing the lopsided political angle? Because it sells among ignorant masses. Pole to the bereaved family.

Mkenya_halisi • 10 years ago

The killers did not act alone. They were hired and they can be bought. A bounty need to be established and the real killer will be known

Andrew Sikuku • 10 years ago

The culprits should be apprehended.

Poleni sana. How many counties included in their budgets allocation of resources to boost security in their counties? In spite of the fact that the county leaders already have good perks including allowances for big personal cars and personal security, all they were interested in were more cars for members of their assemblies, money for travelling and stipends and big houses for the Governors. When the head of security gave the "shoot to kill" order for criminals the other day, many Kenyans opposed the idea. Haya sasa, we can continue sympathising with the criminals as they do what they know best, killing innocent people going about their daily lives. There's another Kenyan family that has lost a breadwinner.

“The county has lost many lives. Many people have been disabled and property
lost through uncontrolled criminal activity. I condemn in the strongest
terms possible the shooting of lawyer Wanyama and urge security
agencies to carry out thorough investigations and ensure perpetrators of
heinous crime are apprehended and made to feel the full force of law,”
Mr Wetangula said on phone.

I didnt read anything much here. Thank you very much

These are not mere gangsters but assassins otherwise how come nothing was stolen, not his car, 10000, not even his smart phone!

Andrew Sikuku • 10 years ago

This is political assassination. The culprits are not 'thugs' as purported. The intention was to shoot & kill Peter. Kenya police & CID at Bungoma, please get to the bottom of this. Too sad that our society hosts these kind of ruthless individuals, whoever they be. Peter's blood is on their hands for those who planned and carried out the murder. To the family of the deceased; poleni sana for the loss of a husband, father, son, bother, cousin, friend & or neighbor. RIP dear cousin.

maskwembe • 10 years ago

The politics of Bungoma is full of witchcraft, threats, murder and the like. Bungoma, resist all these temptations and the devil will flee from you. Also, be accommodative to other tribes. Your neighbour Trans Nzoia always has some semblance of peace in the midst of turmoil emanating from its neighbours in the North Rift and Western largely due to its cosmopolitan nature and tolerance.

Aggie • 10 years ago

Yet another really sad story - what has the world come to? Road accidents have claimed more people this week. Then there has been the navy base shootings in the USA.
Bungoma has been in the news a lot. Were the perpetrators of the 'war' and killings after the March elections ever found? Have the nurses who kicked a mother on the floor been locked up?
Whereas it is a very sad and unfortunate thing for Kombo's lawyer to have been killed last night, it is irresponsible for us, on here, to swiftly jump to conclusions by declaring that it definitely was politically motivated.
How do we know? Indeed - the heading of this article does serve to agitate our passions. However, let's give room to investigations to be done. Sad.

Rarewatts • 10 years ago

The people who master minded recent Bungoma killings are well known to law enforcers. If no one nubs them, this is what they do next!

james mutugi • 10 years ago

We need to expose the 'people' behind these killings because the trend is alarming.RIP Wanyonyi.

This is a Political Killing. After Killing Several Innocent people some months ago. They have now turned to an innocent lawyer. Please Police do something on these politicians. They are finishing US!

MtotoWaMamaKevo • 10 years ago

I would be interested in the evidence you have that it was a political killing. If you have none, then you are rumour mongering and should instead wait for those with information to give it. Have you ever thought that you can be summoned to record a statement?

The depths to which we have sunk morally in this country is just incredible.

Some thing here is more than meets the eye. We need to project that prism abit more closely!! No bigger stones should be left unturned, no matter who the heck....too much innocent kenyan blood shed for grotesque justifications!?!
