Not major news,we are used to this almost daily, why is it made to look as if it is awfully strange for the learned judge to go through the same ordeal that Kenyans are accustomed to? Elites in whichever position should know that no one is safe, including them, and should join others in demanding for better security measures for all in the society as no one is an island of himself/herself.

John lokopu • 11 years ago

Why on earth would a person charged with investigating a sensitive issue on genocide move around without security......Nzioka is expected to handle not only herself, but the information on the inquiry with utmost care...

Steve Maluki • 11 years ago

where were the judges guards?

Alfotula • 11 years ago

What else did they do to her?

Guest • 11 years ago

Naive Kenyans, this ambush looks like a revenge plot, or maybe to scare off the judge to make a corrupt deal'

Baraka Oyula • 11 years ago

Is that news?I am one of the Kenyans who have been crippled by gangsters.Kibeti(Nzioki),we live at the mercy of these devils.

Francis Kiranga • 11 years ago

In Kenya matters are sorted out when victims protest, the best example was exhibited by Lady Wambui on her exclusion on the TNA nomination. Lecturers, teachers, doctors and nurses have protested for their rights. It is high time that the KHRC and other Civil Societies got together, chose a day when no body will report for work and ask all Kenyans to demonstrate to authorities for tougher actions and to the criminals that Kenyans are tired of their activities . This should be done before elections.

jalweny • 11 years ago

david k is rigth tell the kenyans how safe they are not how many poeple got mugged.to me this looks like a planned attack

Guest • 11 years ago

what will they do with the figerprints? its not like they have a data base...the manual anlysis takes forever and even then its still subject to incompetence. smh

kenyaniyetu2013 • 11 years ago

Sp whats the issue? normal burglary

park John • 11 years ago

I feel bad for her, it,s very traumatizing from a personal experience. However, that's what regular Wananchi go through day in day out. Inspector General what do you say !!!! about insecurity? Kenyans want to be comfortable and enjoy their hard earned money without being scared of thugs.

Francis Kiranga • 11 years ago

When the the M-pesa agent was shot dead in Nairobi and the suspects were seen laughing and giggling while in the dock. The casual manner in which the magistrate granted them bail siting delays by Police investigation, with little or no concern for the victims family, a blogger made the following comment. : Wait until the a member of the Judicary or their family go through such traumatic experience which ordinary Kenyans go through daily will they appreciate the dangers looming in the Country and that is when they will see the need to step up their handling of criminal cases. Justice Nzioka can now tell it to her colleagues

tomyebei • 11 years ago

Where was the Judge coming from at 10.30pm at night..first without her husband and secondly without her security....there are many questions that needs answers here.

Bonkartty • 11 years ago

THIS IS IT- wamakumi •
The same security that a Judge needs, the same should be to every kenyan including the IDPs.

Sheik Mulaa Dawara • 11 years ago

Some Kenyans live in a world of their own. Which country can claim to be free of criminals? I am not aware of any, and I am well travelled both in the West as well as in the East and virtually every country in Africa and Europe. Unless, one sees a different motive in this attack, it's just a criminal act by thugs like any other not withstanding the victim's job or place in society. Even a mama mboga's life is one too many to be ended anyhow. We are important to our families and the country no matter what we do in life.

John K • 11 years ago

Given the status of the victim- is it possible there is more than meets the eye?

If the rich aint safe, what happens to the poor?

Alfotula • 11 years ago

Who said she is rich? She is a mere judge.

Mike • 11 years ago

...the rich also cry.

Ralph • 11 years ago

She was mugged because it happens. Kenyans get mugged ALL the time. It has nothing to do with Tana River or refugees outside refugee camps.

Milimo woMukhandia • 11 years ago

The first arrest without asking quesstions is the policeman/woman on duty. Kwani what's G3 for? or the cop fled?

MARTIN • 11 years ago

Thank God she was not hurt. But this level of insecurity is annoying..if this could happen to a judge then ordinary Kenyans brace yourselves for a rude shock!

usiku wamakumi • 11 years ago

The same security that a Judge needs, the same should be to every kenyan including the IDPs.

Most of us can attest to their meticulous finger print collection. However, I wonder how good or easy is it for them to match manually? And if they use the kits later does that mean they will be digitizing their current records?

Kenya is definitely not a banana country/republic. Just a few rotten bananas spoiling the pudding.

Pevu • 11 years ago

you guys are confusing immigration data and electral data vis a vi police bio data which is non existent.... did you know that police cant use your data on any other source other than theirs to have a match on you ?

wuod_aketch • 11 years ago

Now that many here have disowned those bananas, what do we do of them?

matt • 11 years ago

in other news, property and money belonging to millions of Kenyans is stolen daily by both gangsters and government officials

KaCharlie • 11 years ago

that is boring news since it does not touch the celeb upper class Kenyans

Nzai Francis • 11 years ago

Let me not relate this to the report she was bout to release to the president about tana delta. I think she has back up.

maluche • 11 years ago

Could it be another Waiganjo by any chance?

torpedo • 11 years ago

I thought judges are provided with security at their homes. These guys deserve this compared to MPs . It is sad that they are not getting adequate security.

Kumuseno • 11 years ago

This country is not a Banana Republic but a Hyena Republic.

Alfotula • 11 years ago

Monkey republic

Mike • 11 years ago

....Hyenana republic.

moses • 11 years ago

deja vu

Antiautocracy • 11 years ago

Those thugs should leave Lady Justice Grace Nzioka alone

Mike • 11 years ago

....they did. Are they holding her?

Oti_g • 11 years ago

isn't this story missing out the AP guards - and a hubby??

Alfotula • 11 years ago

True, where were the trigger-happy APs?

Mike • 11 years ago

...your question is heavily loaded. You seem to want to know about her husband, if she has one.

Oti_g • 11 years ago

u read my mind....

Mainarateng • 11 years ago

@Ken Kenya, they wont be court, this is Kenya, and even if they do, the lap tops will never be recovered & if the good Judge did have backup bye bye her report.

Braj nj • 11 years ago

Perepepe that is why some of us left the country for such issues such as insecurity, yes western countries have their own challenges but I can walk at night without anyone attacking me, wear my jewellery without feeling a threat to the society and not hanging on to my bag when I travel to the street. If a country cannot address insecurity then I do not know what else she can offer to her citizens. Get out of your complacency and demand what is your right, security being one of them as a citizen.

Guest • 11 years ago

Internet is the best lure, use the mac address plus some hidden applications to access your laptop and you can capture images of the one who bought that stolen laptop and or their user names in social utilities, invite him/her to be a friend with some faked account. Too bad failures occupy crucial departments.

Titus Kalovya • 11 years ago

There they go again, and do these guys think the judge is so stupid to carry any sensitive material to her residence!Theirs was a flop, culprits be warned, this is Justice Nzioka at work!

Felah Kuti • 11 years ago

this is not news, my jirani was also accosted yesterday and he is taxi driver!

rmakunu • 11 years ago

i like your comment seems like petty thieves to me, if it were Kariobangi or Donholm would we have heard or seen this headline?.....but how come a judges house didn't have Police officers guarding?

Jimseme • 11 years ago

There are some jobs in govt you do not take unless you have negotiated serious security, and that is if you want to live your life like that. The risk is too high.

Musyoka wa Kyendo • 11 years ago

This is strange. A judge without armed GUARDS? A simple message to all those who think that Kenya is the worst country ever to exist in the world. Your security is your greatest concern. Driving around 10.30 pm when most people are asleep for any one including a judge. We must play safe all the time.

I hope the thugs did not make away with the all important computer.
