I don't blame bensouda for any thing, she had to carry the mantle of a shoddy job by ocampo himself.. the kenyan case is likely to end up being not only the most challenging but also a embarassing case for the ICC when the whole thing is over.....Seems me the ICC is spoonfed baby court pampered by the western countries and they re desperate to prove their worth with the world....this might not work with the kenyan case..
Seems like the OTP is not as prepared as it wants all of us to believe. Does it mean the OTP hinges its evidence around one particular witness and the case is dead if the witness is out?
This is what happens when you rely on false witnesses to fix suspects.
No surprises here. the accused are even being given intelligence briefing, which includes who suspected suspects are and their hideouts
looks that this ain't going nowhere!
Fatou shld speed up hague cases, now we believ that some justice is on track
The cord of impunity must be put to an end, ask President Bashir and Paul Kagame over his role in DRC, all donors have pulled out their support to Rwanda and the government is virtually going onto its knees.....the age of sanctions is here with us if Jubilee was to win an election
This story rings a bell ... remember the case where Mr William Ruto won a case simply because a witness disappeared and others were no where to be found? well, this is history repeating it's self ..
ohh,my oh my! gun of hires for guns of hires..Talk of a snake chasing it's own tail..but do I 'seh'? LoL
An incoherent, petty, ever whining (tunaonewa) outfit and not short of antics to stir the masses and doing the necessario to poorly managed infrastructure. All while playing the down trodden tune for appeasement.
Therein lies a business partner, a war monger, lest a sell out ready to serve the SOIL OF JAMHURI to the dogs! This is their Geronimo, and he will be 'oiled and aided, by all means necessary. I say unto fellow Kenyans, Hii ni nchi yenyu :) ...Vote wisely good people of the great Republic.
Bensouda you have an uphill task because you took over from O'campo who brought the case in hague on the strength of false evidence supplied by the dollar paid NGOs who had no kenya at heart but to oil their own pockets thats why you get witnesses confessing that they had no evidence but lies because that time they were promised heaven which is not forthcoming
If you know of the Kenyan spirit, it won't suprise you the hague finds the kenyan case toughest to deal with, we are a passionate enthusiastic people, difficult & we take no challenge lying down. I don't see a conviction coming, not in a Century.
why is bensouda complaining through the media i thought there were avenue to address such matters
Hey guys....
Let us pause a few minutes and meditate the words of our National Anthem
Then let us close our eyes and visualize our Vision 2030
Then let us open our eyes to see the beauty of this land
Let no one cheat you that he loves Kenya so much that without his leadership we are doomed!
Let no one peddle fear in you that the other 'non-tribesman' means doom to your tribe!
Open your eyes and see beyond March 5th 2013, please see March 5th 2030!
i pity those witnesses. the high and mighty will do all in their powers to finish them. look at witness number 4. he had to recant his evidence when his family back home was threatened.
Of course Ms Bensouda is right. Recent attempts by the defense to accuse the prosecution of outing defense witnesses is actually just a ruse to try to force the ICC to provide them with names of people they accuse of doing this; in other words, to gain the names of defense witnesses. The ICC are a professional international court and must be yawning at such pathetic strategies.
DONT BE VAGUE LETS GO TO HAGUE, i know many have memories the size of a fly. There is the Hansard in parliament you can go read instead of peddling falsehood and twisting the truth.Their prayers were answered and we all said AMEN AMEN & AMEN LOUDLY
Bensouda,I think you ate beginning to see cracks in your case. Ocampo did a poor jib and maybe got the wrong guys.Withdraw and start again!
In Kenya the President is chosen by God whereas in the western countries man chooses the president thru the "Electrol College" where it`s controlled by man and it gives the final answer. If the next President is not the accused mention above then who is? Becoz he has escaped nearly every hurdle b4 him (a) He could have been bared from coming back home when he went to Hague (b) Mutula had numerous account to stop him from contesting (c) IEBC had to clear his name to vie (d) Someone keen to out ICC Kenya witnesses etc and the hundles goes on and on. Why can`t you open your eyes and stop being controlled by the Media(Whom I don`t blame coz the are doing their job: "MIND CONTROL"). Those who have eyes ccccc! Vote wherever you want but always remember 14 million Kenyans decide but not some few hundred people sitting around a table who are going to give the final result.
Wangui Hit the nail right on the head, This hurts the “Tribalist” who would
like to think one of their own is above the Law (read Impunity), the Truth
hurts, but without it there will be no end to the pains and crys on mothers and
children in IDP camps, In the mean time their tribesmen so to speak continue
raping their tribesmen in the name of “munduwitu”, Let meet at the Debe where
the suffering Kenyans does not know what “ours man”, Justice will prevail when
its all over.. Go Bensouda!!
If not Uhuruto( Their case at ICC notwithstanding) , then who do you want me to vote for? Pls don't mention Railonzo.
Witness number 4 was bribed/coerced to cheat. Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
It started with witness coaching, now its witness outing, lets wait for the next scene
Bensouda is bounded to fail
Lessons learnt,BE WATCHFUL of this politicians...they eat together but divide us to rule us!
i believe wholeheartedly that the two aspirants for the top positions in Kenya are innocent till proven guilty, therefore i urge Kenyans to vote handsomely for the two since they portrayed result-oriented character before.
Time will tell
Karibu Madam Fatou Bensouda . Ungenjua Wa Kenya! This is a country where fake is real , conman-ship aka brokers , consultants , fixers are for hire. Where investigations that turn up every stone end up with Zero results. Where 6 yr old kids get into legal land ownership. No , you won't believe it that one can be a bogus cop with access to security matters for close to 5 yrs. You will think it is a stretch if I tell you there was once a guy called Robert Ouko who short himself and then set himself on fire. One man said we are peculiar and an airline ad summed it up that we have primitive energy - which is about to be unleashed on ICC. Welcome madam.
Most comments are not factual. Kenyans died and some people commenting in this column take it as a joke because none of theirs died. They were killed and we have suspects. Considering Kenyan past history, evidences is always interfered and that is why we have not had comprehensive conclusion of cases such as Ouko, Jm Kariuki and others. ICC is trying her best while the supporters of suspects in this column keep making inhuman comments as if innocent Kenyans were not killed. What is the priority....electing a suspect as a President of our Republic or concluding cases facing suspects. In life we are required to make credible choices that are binding. Why not allow the case to continue and elect any Presidential candidate who is not a suspect as he may not interfere with the case.
No!! All we are saying is that the accused persons don't seem to be connected to the murder...The fat lady is free to go back and get whoever that committed the murder.....She should be more careful this time round....some fellows who are busy preaching 'reforms' could be the culprit she could be looking for. Its that simple...otherwise we very much care about the victims and our prayers will always be with em,but we can't hang innocent people for the sake of it.
You have no care for the victims, you care more for the accused. The so-called 'fat lady' had no business in Kenya until we took it there. If you believe the accussed are not connected to the murders ..., the international courts will definitely prove it. In the meantime, I would be sick to vote people who are suspected of such heinous crimes, but more personally, I would be terribly sick to vote in a manner that my life is made worse of. There are many presidential candidates for me to choose from.
It is not the duty of any accused person to prove themselves innocent for we are always considered innocent until proven guilty. It is the onus of the prosecution and their burden too to prove the accused guilty without the help of the accused. The ICC prosecutor has no evidence against the 4 accused Kenyans. Let her withdraw the case!!!!
ukoloni mambo leo, interests of foreign masters.the truth is known.
aint tribal bt my fellow Kenyans frm Central really amaze me!they act as if Uhuru is guilty, rallying behind him in millions en following him blindly jst cz he has a case to answer...en btw whether he wins this election, the nxt en the following one,he'l stil av a date wit the hague,so he betta go now clear his name instead of using ol these tactics...he betta ask Charles Taylor
And more will be revealed
"Let's not be vague, say Hague", said Ruto. Tukutane kwa debe!
Well, Mr Ocampo and Ms Bensouda - and indeed the entire world - is having a taste of what it is to deal with a Kenyan. Mr Ocampo approached the Kenyan case with the same attitude reserved for, say, Chad or Haiti or Timor. He forgot that, first, this is not a failed state with illiterate Idi Amin-like buffoons running the affairs of state. This is not a banana or orange republic. We may be corrupt, but we are also very (very!) smart. It should have told them something when the Kenyans turned up with possibly the best pack of lawyers The Hague has ever seen and a good number of them were proudly Kenyan and half-Kenyans, as the British informally call themselves after more than a century of being reverse-colonized in the uber cool White Highlands. Secondly, looking at the local news commentaries, I can confidently say that our pool of experts on international law is almost bottomless. So, Ms Bensouda, please style up and treat Kenya like a first-world country - at least upto the end of these hearings - or else your prosecution will not succeed.
Well said!
Kenyans are truly a Peculiar lot- I gather the one's opposing Bensouda are only doing so because their man is accused and those cheering her on are doing so because they want their mans opponent felled purely to gain election victory .My question is this :- would your views be the same if your families were camping in a PEV camp For the last five years?Kenyans are not honest in their quest for justice is my conclusion.!
This is going nowhere
Funny thing is ICC proceedings seem to fall short of the most elementary requirements, including professsional qualifications of those prosecuting. The result is that they must resort to campaign of columny and hype. And all this is aimed at barring two people from elective posts, which Kenyans have an inalienable right to vote them into.
Trying to out witnesses means 'maneno iko'.
A black man can sacrifice himself to save the 'tribe'!
The ICC chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda is talking rubbish, this lady has had enough time to do her work secretly rather than making wild allegations time and again. It is utter nonsense to keep on commenting on Kenyan cases to gain fame or sympathy, distract Kenyans even before the cases have commenced. The fact of the matter is that these cases are political and nobody else than Kofi Annan is behind the ICC. How comes whenever he is Kenya, Bensouda is actively marketing the cases in the international media? To me the cases will be dropped after the elections and petty reasons given because Kofi's agenda has already been exposed and defeated.
Exactly, why go to the media if she is not seeking a certain reaction or result? Why do we need to know that? If she expects no reaction. Report those people to the ICC & let them take apropriate action. We are having an election here!
---- "..the cases will be dropped after the elections and petty reasons given
because Kofi's agenda has already been exposed and defeated."
In your view, is that because Kofi will have failed in his well-publicized bid to get elected to the Kenyan Senate or something?
We have life besides the ICC suspects. Kenyans, let us move on and leave them to carry their cross! All these rhetoric are not about you or me. It is about self preservation and survival. Kenya's war is about class. Tribes were only brought in to make people blind to the course of fighting corruption and impunity. I refuse to be an agent of hate and violence. I cry for full implemtntation of the new constitution so it does not matter who becomes the president eventually! Until then, let us guard matters of interest to you and I and not these folks - who eat together after all. You killed each for Raila and Kibaki and who's laughing now? The two in opulence after presng of srate's positions and resources!
I hope by moving on you don't mean tuchague Raila.....if so.....IM better off with uhuruto
Afro cinema continues......
Its unfortunate that there is no justice in icc and Kenyan know this. This whole icc business is and was political and the wrong guys were picked. Thank God that witness no 4 has said it... can alll other witness tell us what happened behind the curtain.
Aleluhhya Our prayers were answered 100% "DON'T BE VAGUE WE WANT HAGUE" so weather it's Ocampo, Bensouda or Binchesoni or Alladin i don't care i supported ICC kama dume just like Uhuru, Ruto and their Lieutenants. So IWE LI WALO
