A Good Samaritan rescued these girls, NOT the local police. Charles Ramsey is the man!

Guest • 11 years ago

Sure, Ramsey is the man. I'm concerned that police were called twice to this address for yelling and a naked woman walking in the backyard but claim they have no records of such. Looks like they need to retrain their 911 Dispatcher. Such calls were enough to have the house checked.

Ethan Davidson • 11 years ago

Ramsey also said that when he called 911, they thought it was a joke. Something is wrong at that police department.

HCBresson • 11 years ago

God... can you imagine the story thats going to come out from that night? I wonder if one of the girls are going to recount that one day... Maybe she was almost free, had to get to the fence or something, you know? And the cops were called and everything but to no avail... incredible that this kind of thing can happen in this day and age...

Mark Jansen • 11 years ago

Kudos to Charles for being there and caring. Personally, I don't care how they got rescued, I'm just glad to see they were.

SAgirl • 11 years ago

isnt he hilarious, a pretty white girl running into a black mans arms, he knew something was wrong lol!

Eve • 11 years ago

she's of Puerto Rican descent.. and I'm from SA originally, not all American's are as racist as most people in SA

SAgirl • 11 years ago

im from san antonio actually. not racist at all, his words, not mine. i thought he was funny. good thing he did.

Eve • 11 years ago

Ha! I think the trolls are getting to me

Gilsharkey • 11 years ago

Well, there's no doubt Charles Ramsey is one of the most colorful folks to appear on a major media outlet since Kato Kaelin. Of course, Ramsey is a hero, while Kaelin was just a houseguest.

kaemicha • 10 years ago

You need to wake up and realize that you are a racist and being from San Antonio doesn't help much. Texas and all...'nuff said..

SAgirl • 10 years ago

you're a day late and dollar short honey!! If you watched charles ramsey's interview, you would realize I was simply quoting what he said. I found it humorous. Watch the interview and be quiet :)

Kabc Gabc • 11 years ago

That's true, non-Mexicans in particular do not like Mexicans at all. Then again, Eastern Europeans who are not Russian hate being mistaken for Russian, and think Russians are pigs etc.

HCBresson • 11 years ago

And I thought all the level headed people in TX gravitated to Austin... bravo

Guest • 11 years ago

Kit Bradley • 11 years ago

HCBresson • 11 years ago

According to what we've been hearing, Charles kicked in the door... where are you getting the "Spanish" guy... So a guy from Spain was there first? What an odd comment.

only1nelie • 11 years ago

Mission & all those others who are down on the police:
1. you don't know the facts yet on what actually happened,
2. if they did not do their jobs, that doesn't mean that others aren't out there working hard day and night, and weekends, and holidays to keep you safe, and
3. I hope you never have the need to call 911.

Guest • 11 years ago

Anyone who doesn't think that mental illness is the number one health problem in this country should read these comments.

It is not so much an illness as a disease inbred into the fabric of most of America

aphi • 11 years ago

Inbred is right

Bree Daniél Normandin • 11 years ago

I have to agree with that statement.

Please refer to Steven's response below.

Skippy • 11 years ago

No, thank you!

jxrxc • 11 years ago

So-called 'mental illness' really doesnt mean anything. It's just an opinion that was used to rationalize the Holocaust. There's no science to support psychiatry.

Are you a Scientologist? I've heard that comment alot from them

This is what happens when the mothers of misogyny raise children Right.

Гость • 11 years ago

it all country says.

jonny • 11 years ago

Misogyny. Reducing women reduces Humanity. Reducing each other reduces Humanity.

No one is Selfish, humane or sane. Everyone has been blinded by the corrupted reversal of love. In nature, the mammal mother loves her offspring. In humans, well...we're a little confused and needy.

No one has Self.

Everyone is lying.

RIP

abbeysbooks • 11 years ago

No the mammal doesn't love her offspring. This idea of love for children is rather new on the scene in our history.

jonny • 11 years ago

What word do you call the mammal mother's willingness to die to protect her young? That's what I'm calling "love". That's the one and only "love" that is natural and logical and sane (because love is temporary insanity, and a function of need).

abbeysbooks • 11 years ago

I guess you can label it "love" if you feel like it. Actually a mother rat's care for her babies is a strong instinct, stronger than food or water in the hierarchy as measured by Skinnerian methods. That makes it pretty strong. "Love" has an interesting genealogy from the 12th century as told by the Tristan and Iseult legend. It is unique in the Western World. Asia does not have this "sacredness" attached to sexual rituals and courtship that the west has, so eroticism rather than love is predominant. Today this courtship ritual has disappeared with The Pill, and we are seeing the consequences. This is not to say the classic western rite of courtship did not have its flaws, just that it introduced the sacred - "love" - into the mix. The element you mention "to die for" was part of the passion/love/Death aspect of it. It's the subject of a book: Love in the Western World by Denis de Rougemont.

jonny • 11 years ago

And the manuscripts cobbled together into the Bible were written after 1200 AD?

Because if they were not, the 12th century legend is borrowing from the Bible; a book which drills love as an exploitative emotion used to manipulate others into dying for you. But don't take my word for it.

Exodus 15:3 Lord of War.
1 John 4:8 God is love.

Plus hundreds of other verses saying the same thing. But the love/hate dynamic is in the Ten Commandments; where Moses reveals "the Lord spake unto Moses" to tell us He is the Lord our God, we shall have no other gods before him (after is fine, just not before; he wants our cherry).

Exodus 20 (KJV)
5 ...for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Hate and love.
Love and War.

One is not possible without the other, when love has been corrupted. But these manuscripts are from thousands of years prior to 1200 AD so your genealogy for love is incomplete?

John 15:13-14 (KJV)
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

That's what love is used for. Right there. Exploitation.

abbeysbooks • 11 years ago

No Tristan and Iseult was a legend originating with the Celts in the fifth century. The troubadours that Eleanor of Aquitaine had in her court left France with her and went to England when she married Henry after an annulment of her marriage to Louis of France because she hadn't born him a son. The intersection with Catharism and the love songs of the troubadours and Courtly Love (no consummation) because Catharism held that the world was evil and to bring a child into it was evil. This was the merging of the sacred, love and courtly ritual involving chastity. It's more complicated than this, but Rome then sought out the Cathar sect of Catholicism to exterminate them, as their beliefs meant that Catholicism would die out without children. Sort of similar to the way you think jonny.

DonTurnblade • 11 years ago

Whether the Bible is one's cup of tea or not, it is substantially older than 1200 AD and this can be shown as a fact of history and verifiable historical documents. It is true that there was a remarkably bad Latin text of the Bible made in 1200 AD. Perhaps that is what this is about.

abbeysbooks • 11 years ago

He is referring to the Tristan and Iseult legend from the 12th century when "love" intersected with the History of Sexuality(Foucault).

abbeysbooks • 11 years ago

Foucault's genealogy just took in the last 300 years in Europe. DeRougemont's on Love in the Western World was just a structuralist analysis of Courtly Love. Of course the Bible has something to do with it. One cannot grow up in the Western World without the influence of the Bible permeating everything. Courtly Love came into being in the 12th century with the troubadour love songs for milady and the ritual of Courtly Love was spread by those that embraced the Catharist sect of the Catholic church: the world is evil so it is evil to have children, so love was elevated over sex (procreation) and lust (procreation). A genealogy of chastity (chastity belts) reveals that chastity was a technique to increase sexual desire among women not a method of abstinence to repress sexual desire, although that was what chastity turned into in the last 300 years or so since the late middle ages. You missed the whole point of the article on sex, frat boys, drunk and rape. The Point is that the feminists have indoctrinated young women into not being a quick lay, have stripped them of their safety excuse of repression, and so they get falling down drunk to bypass the superego and by then they are prey to the jocks in particular. It is not anyone's fault, it is just the Foucauldian Grid of power/knowledge/capital/normality which closes everyone in. I really am tired of explaining over and over what you refuse to either understand or ignore. It is why you go on and on and now I am going on and on repeating myself in hopes that you will get it. You won't unless you sit down and do some serious studying instead of ranting to the unwashed masses, of which I am slipping into myself.

jonny • 11 years ago

You're not only completely wrong about the motives for girls to require rape, your theory is utter nonsense bordering on babbling. Superego? .

The prescription to get laid is to be honest. Focus on this line. You cannot dispute that if girls wanted to get laid, all they'd have to do is be honest. Irrefutable.

Ignore feminists. Ignore repression. This is a girl who wants to get laid at a frat party. All she'd have to do is be honest. Stop fighting what cannot be refuted.

But they don't want to be honest. They'd be giving up the 'cheat' they've been using since infancy to shortcut their way through life. THAT'S THE REASON.Your theory is bunk. All they have to do is be honest but they're too reliant on their entitlement to deceive.

abbeysbooks • 11 years ago

1. It's not a theory. Use the word theory correctly not in place of a hunch, a speculation. And read the article first before you critique my review of it.

2. Men do not want honesty any more than women do. And I am speaking generally. Men are Young Girls just as much as women are Young Girls. Maybe you want honesty but I don't think so. You just want to rant and argue.

jonny • 11 years ago

Answer this question: What would happen if, instead of getting blind drunk in order to be raped, girls who wanted sex merely walked into a frat party and informed a guy they fancied that they wanted to have sex?

Do you think guys would say "No" because they only want to rape?

Do you need to be blind drunk and overpowered before you'll be able to participate in non-combative communication?
