Why should a Kagame take Kiwkete's so-caaled advice? Kikwete has never lost any relative in he genocide..so we must say he feels nothing about it

Can somebody tell me the military service record of Col. Kikwete. What has he done for this region? what has Tanzania done for this region in the last 20 years?

Emmanuel • 10 years ago

The last important military action of Tanzania was to overthrow Idi Amine Dada in 1980. Since then....nothing! I personally think Tanzania feels guilty of supporting Obote II when Museveni was in the bush. They had no role in Mobutu eviction, although the Zairean dictator was Nyerere personal enemy. He was evicted by Rwanda and Uganda. Today Tanzania wants to come back under spotlights in the subregion, and fight M23 to impose its views in Congo politics!

Gallant ladies and gentlemen, president Kikwete's opinion to me was right reason being, Negotiations between the Rwandan gov. is the only remedy left after 20years of failure to end such skirmishes with the FDLR. There is no point of defense what so ever, president Kagame is putting up front that he cannot negotiate with ignorant people and killers! if so, how many co-founders of FDLR are in the government? the truth is; HE should relax nerves, refresh the thinking and negotiate for peace in the neighborhood and the region at large...

Idiot Sempala, if you want to know Col. Kikwete's record ask his student Kagame, Kagame and Museveni all were raised up in Tanzania. It is stupidity now you dont see Tanzania's contribution. We hosted you as refugees and you ate our food, you robbed our people's properties and left back to your country. We want peace in the region, why fear negotiations?

President Kagame must listen to such wise person as
President Kikwete. Problems are not solved by war or wars. Negotiate if you want peace and as strong as you are, e.g., President Kagame, the FDLR will not get whatever it wants in the negotiation.

Kagame is our man in fact we were asking ourselves why it took him all this long to blast him...whether Kikwete said it out of ignorance to Rwandans...that is an unforgivable insult to Rwandans....& we are ready now, come on Kikwete with your best friends in S.A plus FDLR, you are now enemy number one of Rwanda in the whole great lakes region!! Mr. presdient you put it well "negotiating with the killers of our people is totally nosense" Long live Rwanda, long live our PK

Why General Kagame and RPF are afraid of talks and negotiations? It is because the outcomes would call to hold RPF and Kagame of genocide crimes they perpetrated Through talks and negotiations, the truth emerges. When the truth arises, justice is implemented. After justice, it is the turn of genuine reconciliation, hence democracy and unity. As Kagame and RPF are genocide criminals, they are attempting whatever possible to evade any process leading to justice. Kagame and RPF are the obstacle to durable sustainable solution to the
fundamental problem. The fundamental problem of Rwanda is a discriminatory dictatorship of
RPF and General Kagame who are holding Rwandans as their hostages by
suffocating democracy. Ultimately, Kagame and RPF are scared of
Democracy and genuine Unity because they are criminals who would be held
accountable of genocide crimes they perpetrated since 1990 and FDLR are among victims. As Interahamwes are scared of facing relatives of people they hacked necks with machetes, Kagame and Inkotanyi are haunted by the idea of facing relatives of people whose skulls were crushed by their hoes.

I think what President Kikwete was proposing was brown out of context, I see no ham in both sides sitting together and sort out their differences because they are both Rwandese anyway and whatever the crime it would not be had this Kagame and his people not attack Rwanda in the first place. Problem is Kagame thinks he is everything in Rwanda and therefore takes no advice which is a bit being deluded to be honest, he has got respect opinions of other leaders.

Emmanuel, • 10 years ago

I thought the name "Smart" would equate the reasoning but nope. where do you get the courage to say" Kagame thinks is everything in Rwanda and...." Do you expect him to be everywhere like Kikwete wants to be? Kagame represents Rwandese but he does not speak where he was not invited.

Kikwete is trying to tarnish the image Tanzania built for years and that earned us respect in the Great Lakes region. I respect his courtship with Americans and Chinese, but I'm appalled that of all the people...we want to fight brothers and sisters Nyerere helped to save. We are doomed!
