He seems so much like an INFP. <3

"Just one of the many dark nights of the soul that takes place everyday at your local Residence Inn."

– The A.V. Club

Tim Nash • 11 years ago

I JUST WANT TO KNOW THAT HE'S COMFORTABLE!

Britta Unfiltered • 11 years ago

I think Donald was acting out over unresolved daddy issues and an edible complex. Donald Glover, you've just been therapized. You're welcome.

lumbaka • 11 years ago

How was he able to leave Community? Wouldn't he be under contract?

lumbaka • 11 years ago

Wake me up for the Danny Glover updates.

Lord Autumn-Bottom • 11 years ago

“I don't think those feelings are that different from what everybody's feeling. Most people just don't tell everybody.” Very good point. I guess it's just that the "telling everybody" part makes it seem more serious.

"uniquely devoted, very sensitive fanbase"
The best, most carefully worded description of Community fans I've ever read. Kudos.

Mr Squibbon • 11 years ago

It gets bonus points for the fact that it could be read as 'stalkers on the verge of a serious breakdown."

Den McHenry • 11 years ago

First time I got sad on Instagram, I was like, 'Oh no!,' but then I was like, 'This is an AV Club story.”

TWO AV Club stories! This is wrinkling my brain!

Tearinitup • 11 years ago

Why won't you let me fix yooooouuu??
*sobs*

Peter O Tooles liver • 11 years ago

Glover is in obviously in a dark, vulnerable place and needs guidance. Scientologists- do your work!

sacrelicious • 11 years ago

L. Ronatron: ASSEMBLE!

no, not *that* way, Travolta!

scaffnet • 11 years ago

Tears of a clown.

Pemberton • 11 years ago

I don't think those feelings are that different from what everybody's feeling.

I agree. "I'm scared I'll never grow out of bro rape" is a timeless message. It's really this century's "All you need is love."

Tearinitup • 11 years ago

Being scared of people finding out what you masturbate to? I can't think of anyone who DOESN'T go through that.

darlingofthecityfathers • 11 years ago

Ha. Called it.

Incurable Ennui • 11 years ago

I'm depressed that the readers of People magazine have to have these obvious things explained to them.

Search for Schlock • 11 years ago

Everybody is depressed.

SlamAdams • 11 years ago

Was it because they were notes? Like, if he expressed those thoughts through his music or comedy, would people have had the same "are you okay" reaction? Or that "I get it" reaction he seemed to be going for?

Tearinitup • 11 years ago

I think it's the fact that they are notes on Residence Inn stationery - it's just so bleak.

vandermonde • 11 years ago

I definitely think that is part of it. I mean listening to Sea Change i don't assume Beck is a cheery guy, but since it's art i know the emotion on display is quite likely heightened, and may even be entirely affected. Just posting random stuff on the net has more of a context of "I am actually feeling this way" or at the least "I am looking for attention and reassurance" neither of which is super healthy.

ted@aol.com • 11 years ago

I'd like to give that man in the picture a Laurel and Hardy handshake.

Randall Hodge • 11 years ago

Glad I was the only one who wanted an homage to Sheriff Bart.

ted@aol.com • 11 years ago

And includes a Laurel&Hardy homage for no extra cost.

Pepsi Jr. • 11 years ago

Donald Glover is a boring nerd. Next!

Flightwriter • 11 years ago

You think Residence Inns are bleak? Trying spending 48 hours at Extended Stay America.

PopsFreshenmeyer • 11 years ago

Today, I learned that one does not simply sip a hot beverage before reading the last line in a newswire penned by Sean O'Neal.

emerson bigguns • 11 years ago

In fairness, you were taking a BIG chance there, Pops. Hope your keyboard is wiped off now.

PopsFreshenmeyer • 11 years ago

Keyboard's fine. It's the shirt that needs assistance.

“That night, we had a show, and then afterwards, I had this moment of
feeling like, 'What's the point? Why am I even here? I just wanted to
write down my feelings. I definitely was just expressing myself."
Here, Donald, let me fix this for you: I WAS REALLY REALLY HIGH there ya go.
In other news, I just watched the episode of Girls last night when he and Lena Dunham get in a big fight over her writing versus his Republican politics. He's pretty funny.

30 Odd Foot of Cunts • 11 years ago

Jesus, even his meltdowns are twee and pretentious.

SatelliteInternetIsSkynet • 11 years ago

You'll never guess what he masturbates to . . .

Smacky the Frog • 11 years ago

That's just what he was afraid you were going to say.

The Bishop • 11 years ago

Pictured above: Sheriff Donald Glover, the most sensitive gun in the west.

Whovian • 11 years ago

Photo Caption: "Excuse me while I whip this out..."

Whovian • 11 years ago

Glover? I hardly know her!

McGone • 11 years ago

Ugh, I got a Residence Inn notification for this?

spicoli323 • 11 years ago

I think the main take home lesson is that Dan Harmon is a bad influence, and it's probably for the best that Donald won't be hanging around with him anymore.

Dowd • 11 years ago

So this warranted a second newspiece, because there was a follow-up in PEOPLE, for God's sake?
It's official: The AV Club is finally less informative than BuzzFeed.

Scrawler • 11 years ago

I'm just surprised Glover is famous enough for People to be interested in him.

Tearinitup • 11 years ago

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

Hooded Justice • 11 years ago

Well, he has been on Girls.

PopsFreshenmeyer • 11 years ago

Urge to downvote rising. . .

For Our Consideration: 'Wrecking Ball' as explained through Mean Girls quotes

SatelliteInternetIsSkynet • 11 years ago

It's not her fault she has a heavy flow and a wide-set vagina.

BonerTime • 11 years ago

Stop trying to make "For Our Consideration" happen, A.V. Club.

Nathan Ford's Evil Twin • 11 years ago

It's been a given for at least a year that they'll milk any Breaking Bad or Community newspiece they'll come across because people like you keep clicking on them.
