Failure of Kenyan government. When you bring in warring groups for peace talks, it is your duty to know that they are accorded the necessary security. If anything goes wrong it is the responsibility of the hosting country. Kenya should ask Ethiopia to return those people to Nairobi. This is a serious bleach of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Do not punish poor and innocent public servants for executing game plans for dangerous cards being played under the table.

Check their bank statements to see how much they earned from this deal.

Who invited them?? Which Peace talks???

How did the Ethiopia Intell team penetrate Kenya Borders?? Who stamped them in and Exit???

Were the two police officers working on orders?? Who odered them to make the arrest???

Whose vehicle were they using Ethiopia GE or Kenyan GK or Private????

Unless the article is unverified and posted, I have read the article and there is more than meets the eye and there is a possibility that the two police officers are victims of circumstances.

That was a state to state operation. I would expect Ethiopia to do the same with MRC.

These kind of abuses and breach of international laws by the Ethiopian thugs must be stop by Kenyan authorities.
How in the world can a peace negotiator be abducted in broad day light under the noses of Kenyan police and intelligence forces in one of the busiest city in Africa, Nairobi. Now we know the Ethiopians had inside help and possibly paid money. Kenyan foreign minister Ambassador Amina Mohamed must demand strongly for the immediate return of these men from the Ethiopians, it must also protest strongly to the international body for the violations of its sovereignty and security by a neighboring state which sent to Nairobi and armed men to abduct people who stayed in Kenya as guests of the country.
Ethiopian security forces are famous for torture and extra-judicial killings therefore these men are possibility being torture in a dark, cold underground room inside military camp in Ethiopia and they will soon be brought in front of a TV camera under the gun and will be told to admit crimes they did not commit and will also be forced to say that they came to Ethiopia on their own and no abduction has taken place. Kenyan officials must work hard for their safe return before its too late. A Somali-Canadian named Bashir Makhtal was taken from Kenya to Ethiopia on what is known rendition with full knowledge of the Kenyan Authority back in January 2007 and he is in Addis-abab jail until now. Kenya needs to change and upheld human rights of its citizens, guests and visitors.

..its such a stupid idea for the kenyan government to invite people for peace talks and then abduct them and hand them over to the ethiopian government - i thought some people in government had brains!!

As an Ethiopian, I don't condone any such abductions, as we could also be on the receiving end of such kidnappings. However, the ONLF is a terrorist org., good summary of their activities provided by Muna. Anytime you pick up arms to voice your opinion, you are playing outside the rules and should expect to be dealt accordingly. In all countries of the world, the state has a monopoly on lethal power.

Tell us how someone who wants his/her land back and refused to be oppress in his/her land who tried to negotiate in a peaceful way and his/her representatives in the negotiating table were abducted as we witnessed last week in Nairobi and many years ago inside Ogadenia similar situation happened were ONLF negotiators were gunned down as soon as they left a meeting with Ethiopian military commander can be characterize as terrorist.

Am I a terrorist if I ask you to give back my land and leave in a peaceful way and go back to Tigre or Ethiopia and when you refused I picked up a gun and organized myself and my people to liberate my land from you. Please explain how you reached the term terrorist or you learned that from western media that characterize freedom fighters as terrorist.
All I and my people want from the Ethiopian occupiers in Ogaden region my homeland,, to leave peacefully because this land is not yours and will never be, the history is there when the British colony gave away and now its rightful owners, the ethnic Somali people of Ogaden want their land back. No one can stop them because its in our blood to see the land free from wayane.

Muna I thought you were giving us your opinion on ONLF instead you recycle an old news. FYI onlf has given the Chinese oil company a numerous warnings published on international news media and was also delivered to the Chinese diplomats in various countries.
You are missing the point here, Ogadenia is illegally occupied by Ethiopian troops and there will be no peace there until the men and women of the ethnic Somalis in Ogaden region have the right to choose for their destiny, have the right to elect their own leaders, can organize their political parties and control their own resources including oil.
Why would a Chinese company and thugs from the regime collaborate to steel the oil in the Ogaden region while the children in Ogaden region are starving and have no schools and clean water.
Its not the first time the enemy captured some of ONLF heroes and it will not be the last, in fact this time they abducted some who were staying in Kenya as a guest who participated the last peace negotiations between Ethiopia and ONLF and now were preparing for the expected third round of the talks, and its up the Kenyan government to deal with the Ethiopians to work on their releases because it happened in their homeland and these men were invited to Nairobi for this reason alone, however this is bigger than one or two people, this is an struggle that will continue until to the end and the people of Ogaden region and their brothers and sisters in diaspora are ready to continue until Ethiopia accepts and sits down in the negotiating table in honesty and allows the people of Ogaden region what they demand which is basic human rights and the right to determine their future on their own. No amount of power and oppression will stop that... in fact the powerful Haile Sallase could not do it on his time with all the army he had, so was Mingistu who tried the same tactics but failed. No one can stop the peoples desire to have freedom, so sleep on that and rest assure Abdi Iley will be gone and victory will go to the people of Ogaden, the rightful owners of the land and its resources and not to those came from the highland of Ethiopia to oppress the weak.

All opaque and criminal.
