This is a good analysis of the current situation in South Sudan by Mr. Jean C.B.
what is have to add is that majority of South Sudanese have had enough and wants an end to KIIR'S regime by all mean possible. I can't with stand Kiir presidency, not after creating this genocide. He has butchered Civilians and failed to even come out to the South Sudanese people & tell them the truth but instead denied and fabricate the matter.

Our nation should not be held hostage by two tribes or by two power hungry rivals period.

From where I am sitting (quite a distance away) the outcome looks rather bleak for the collective peoples of South Sudan. After years of fighting, millions of lives lost, the challenges of nation building appear too great to waste blood and scarce resources on petty political shenanigans. The oil resources can go far in developing a viable public works infrastructure to deliver water, electricity and roads. A system of public education is sorely needed to build a cadre of doctors, engineers, scientists, teachers for the future South Sudan. The fertile lands beg for cultivation by farmers prepared to grow sufficient food to feed a hungry, growing nation. Yet, these two national leaders cannot move pass "who's in charge?" Who cares? It was the American President, John Kennedy who said, "ask not what my country can do for me, ask what can I do for my country." These men need to set aside their differences and develop a vision for the future South Sudan. To both I suggest, "If you love South Sudan, let go...and allow her to grow."

Mr. Jean C.B., the 1991 massacre is called "Upper Nile Dinka massacre, Jonglei Dinka massacre, Eastern Dinka Massacre, etc. The really Bor massacre is 2013 which Michael Makuei and Kuol Manyang Dinka Bor of Bor County people were eager. The 1991 Dinka did really affect "Dinka Twi/Twic East County, Dinka Hol & Dinka Nyarweng/Duk County, and Pigi County Dinka sub-tribes. Next time please don't do that mistake if you truly educated person. You have to make more research thoroughly before you write something.

If it wasn't a coup, why then did Riak Machar run to the bush and form his millitia so called the white army?

Borson • 10 years ago

He was set up, so he left in a hurry or he would be dead by now or in jail. what wouldn't you do if it was you in a position like that knowing you sound like one of them cowards. what a stupid question is like you are 2013 late with your antagonizing question.

This is a great analysis of the current situation South Sudan.

Kiir’s leadership extremely failed. Without any doubt the majority of South
Sudanese have had enough and wants an end to this horrible regime.

How can a country be secured when it is in the
epicenter of poverty at about 98 percent of the population is under poverty
line?

Balistic Deng • 10 years ago

Well, is this rationalized article.I don't know how British wants Riek to rule majority due to Emma's mission. Riek is currently in US for treatment.

Getnyiel • 10 years ago

Mr Jean you are a bit biased to Dr Riek. What will happened is he [Riek] will accept the ceasefire as from tonight or else he will face the BLOC. Also you seem to have forgot that not all Nuers are supporting Riek. We all know what he did in 1991 to Nuer community. The current killing is not in his homeland Unity State it is in Lou area we from Lou will not support him at all.

Dr. Machar is warrior and an intellectual. He will win the struggle of the people of South Sudan regardless of IGAD's involvement in In this struggle for freedom. My experience in South Sudan is that no body is free until Kirr and his group in thrown out the Power. Let the IGAD come into South Sudan to help in the oppression of South Sudan, and surely they will regret to find out that the majority of south Sudanese do not support Salva Kirr The only way for them keep Kirr in power and loot the resources of South Sudan is if they could kill all south Sudanese with the exception of Dinka Bahar El Ghazal.
