The railway used to run through our Wai-iti farm, as a little boy way back then I was fascinated by that train. I feel the few relics that remain from this line are certainly worth preserving, very much so. I think it quite amazing that this tunnel is still intact. Has an engineering assessment ever been made to determine it's structural integrity and how long it is likely to remain safe enough to walk through?
