    Is this kit compatible with the SainSmart Duemilanove (It is an Arduino Board with ATmega328 microcontroller). Or would I need anything extra to make it work?

  • Alex Liu

    Hi, from the layout of the SainSmart Duemilanove we can see that all the pins are same as what it has on Arduino Duemilanove. So it is compatible.

    Hello, could you please verify which version of the base shield comes with this kit (v1.2 or v1.3), especially since you no longer individually sell the v1.2 base shield?

  • Jacket Chen

    Now the version of base shield is v1.2.Although v1.2 has shut down,but we have some in store.We would sell the new one after the older one sold out.

    Hi, does this kit come with V1.2 or V1.3 Base Shield?

  • Jacket Chen

    Hi,may it brings a V1.2 Base Shield with it.

  • Russell Maier

    Hi there, I am wondering are the cables that come with this starter kit compatible with the ports on the LiPo rider? Search your site as much as I can, I can't tell if the JST 3 cables mentioned on LiPo Rider are compatible with Groove. Thanks!

  • Jacket Chen

    Dear Russell.You'd better use Grove universal 4pin cable,because they'll all be used most of the time,and sometimes only 3 pins are needed, and jst 3 cables will be enough.

    My first question is about choosing Seeeduino V3.0 (Atmega 328P) or Seeeduino Mega with this starter kit.
    I will be a newbie with seeduino, but I will need to access seeduino via Web (using your Wifi Shield) to get and set values to sensors and LEDs via HTTP (may I use REST or similar?).
    Another question is: May I use all the green and blue modules available at http://www.seeedstudio.com/wik... (I am not sure about the color meaning).
    Thanks in advance.

  • Marino Linaje

    Thank you for your response. I will need to access seeduino via Web (using Wifi Shield) to get and set values to sensors and LEDs via HTTP (may I use REST or similar as I do with my Flyport? Wiki information is not enough for me at this point: http://www.seeedstudio.com/wik...
    Thanks in advance!

  • José Igor

    I wonder if the grove above card is compatible with new Arduino UNO because it has two GND, 5v between pin and the VIN.
    Thanked.

  • Steve Chang

    It's compatible.

  • Christian Gerwig

    Because there are several postings that the cables are missing I am confused. Is the position Groove cable X10 one, two or how many cables? Or do I really need to order them seperately?

  • Steve Chang

    10 cables are included.

  • Raphaël ANDRE

    The kit is great, well presented in a nice bx and working like a charm, the only issue is that the pins of the shield are not long enough to place it on top of an Ethernet shield (due to the height of the EDthernet connector). This is a serious drawback.

  • BJ James

    The image should highlight the "Starter Bundle Harness" and note that it is not included in the Kit. My Grove kit arrived today and I was was disappointed to learn this is a separate item.

  • Giovanni Civardi

    Got the kit, amazing toy :-)
    Only negative thing: no harness... ;-( How can i order one?

  • Luís Filipe

    finally my shipment arrived (it was ordered on 21/02) everything was in order. Every piece looks really tiny but cute ^_^ hope to put it all to work really soon so i can give better feedback. Thanks seeedstudio!

  • Marcio Miguel Gomes

    My LCD arrived today. The kit is complete and fully functional.

  • Tarkan Yamanoglu

    Fernando Galindo Garcia solved the whole puzzle;

    "Inside the sketch i initialize the library:
    //rs,rw,enable,d4,d5,d6,d7
    LiquidCrystal lcd(13,12,3,4,5,6,7);
    As other people point, the wiring shown on the product page is WRONG!
    Date Added: 06/05/2010 by Fernando Galindo Garcia"

    simply disassmble rs,rw, enable pins from socket and connect them to;
    rs =_ pin13
    rw =_ pin12
    en =_ pin3
    others same, connect them with the included cables

  • Tarkan Yamanoglu

    Anyone able to work LCD with this shield ? I can not...

  • Jader Dias

    UPDATE: My LCD finally arrived. Now the kit is complete.

  • Carlos Daniel Rodrigues Lopes

    UPDATE:

    I received the package without the cables and lcd on 11/25/2010 and 46 days have passed since and i still didn't received them.
    I'm disappointed SeedStudio!!!!!!!

  • Marcio Miguel Gomes

    My bundle arrived on december 27th, almost complete, but without the LCD display. It's been 8 days, but I expect the LCD will come soon.

  • Jader Dias

    The cables finally arrived after a while, but the LCD is still missing

  • Dan Watts

    In the 3rd and final installment of my exciting series of comments on this product :-), the LCD just arrived in the mail. So, to answer the question I asked in my first comment: yes, the Kit does include all components listed in the description. If your kit arrived without cables or LCD, they should arrive in a separate package.

  • Carlos Daniel Rodrigues Lopes

    I also didn't received the LCD and Cables.

  • william stewart

    Mine also arrived - with cables, but no LCD. The datasheet arrived on the website just in time :-) It still needs more details about the twig designs (like which connectors go to which devices on each twig), and if I want to use non-Grove sensors that run at 3.3 volts I'll have to use breadboard or protoboard, but it's a really nice starter system.

  • Dan Watts

    Further to my earlier question about the cables, a box in the mail yesterday answered it. Yes, cables are included in the bundle. Looks like the cables are shipped separately sometimes (maybe just for pre-orders).

  • Jader Dias

    The same happened to me. My bundle arrived without this LCD and without cables. And the cables that came previously with my electronic brick shield aren't compatible with this model

  • Dan Watts

    I received a couple of the Grove bundles in the mail this week, but without:
    - any cables
    - the LCD and the board on which the LCD is mounted

    I'm happy with the bundle - at this low price, I didn't really expect an LCD. However, the cables are rather important.

    Are the cables supposed to be included with the bundle, or are they something we should order separately?

    Dan.
