strange how every sceenshot from the other options link straight to your own website. give us a break.

jordanaPepper • 11 years ago

The screen shots apparently do link back to our website, but if you want to go to the other website we have included their links in the headings. Simply click on any of the other companies names and it will take you to their site.

I agree with Archie, use wp properly or don't create blogs at all, i have to search each one individually because you cant add links, that is just useless, sorry

I wouldn't say it's that much of an issue. How many companies you know that list their possible competitors in their field, and THEN allow comments to provide user's OTHER recommendations.
Besides.. what-you don't know how to use google?
Personally, I think it would be hilarious if they would add affiliate links, wouldn't you?

You guys may want to know another desktop software just like Prezi, Focusky (the name seems like focus + sky).

jordanaPepper • 10 years ago

That's great! We will check them out and add them to the next post we are doing on PowerPoint alternatives

Hi, try Academic Presenter. A free prezi-like but offline presentation software with cool features especially for students and professors. It works on windows. You can use LaTex, digitizer and many more to present your lectures in more efficient way. Users can integrate and organize slides inside borderless canvas to design a memorable presentation.

Download it from CNET: Academic Presenter
or from its website: Academic Presenter

You can check the samples. There are many tutorial videos in YouTube as well.

20 seconds?????powtoon, that's impossible to work with

InkPPT • 8 years ago

Thanks Jordana for sharing this great list. Much appreciated!

As per powtoon is considered, it doesn't give a free version for downloading the presentations.

Lisa Brown • 8 years ago

do any of these support gif animation as well as music

Thanks Jordana for the new list. Much appreciated!
I am using JustPerfect for iPad, so far, my favorite for project management presentations.

How can I get rid of the logo at the first slide (made using powtoon)? Is it possible the PRO version?

PowToon • 9 years ago

Hi Reham! If you upgrade to the PRO or Business account it will get rid of the PowToon logo on all slides and it will remove the PowToon outro :-). If you have any other questions about upgrading you can contact our amazing customer support team (support@powtoon.com) and they will help you with anything you need !

Sorry but I found the comments much more informative than the article.

I think Visme.co is a good alternative too. Visme is fully based on HTML5 so no matter what recent browser you use it will load right within the browser with no software or plugins to download. It's easy to use, you can publish it right away. Aside from presentations you can also create banners, infographics, animations and a whole lot more with its ready-made template.Plus, it's free!

Daniel,

Really appreciated this post, but there's a typo in it:

1. PowToon – Best Prezi Alternative

Of course our very own PowToon made the top of our list. We love >>>>are<<<< suite of animated characters, library styles, cool templates and special effects. The best part about PowToon is that the finished product will look so professional and creative. Here is a PowToon by one of our users.

Should be "We love OUR suite, not ARE.

Just trying to help.

PowToon • 10 years ago

Thanks so much Lozada!! Typo fixed.

The big question I ask any alternatives to Prezi is how does this application cope with fonts and scientific notations. Prezi is a pain in the ass because you can't do sub and superscript and cant import font styles into it.
Is PowToon any better?

jordanaPepper • 10 years ago

We are actually just in the process of finalizing our fonts so this comment came at a great time! We will see what we can do to implement it with our new project Slides!

Magico • 11 years ago

Powtoon is cool sometimes, but is very limited and the free version is too boring, also its not a prezi alternative, you cant click forward and backward your slide, this just make a video and just for youtube. Defenitly not a Prezi Alternative.

jordanaPepper • 11 years ago

We actually do have a slideshow option (for free and paid users), so you can click forwards and backwards in your slides, and we are coming out with a whole new presentation software in just a few weeks. It's definitely not just for video, that is just one of the options we give.
