I hope Trump will keep his promises to us pro-lifers. That would be one of the few good things to expect from him, in my opinion.

Remember that Trump also said Planned Parenthood did some winderful things, too

Pere Callahan • 7 years ago

Indeed! This spring, LAN articles were a lot more critical of Trump. And for a good reason, whatever words can be used to describe him, "trustworthy" is not one of them.
What we can hope is that we can push him to keep his promises to us.

Calvin, congratulations on the victory!

On the day of the election, we had two baby saves, a nice foreshadowing, then went back to watch the results come in.

We were texting all night long!

Then, on very little sleep, I had to get up to travel - to take America back. :-)

Getting ready to protest a PP in the Midwest - hope there are no snowflakes there. :-)

Nice job getting the evangelical vote out, and way to go Catholics - who voted Trump 52-45, probably because Trump was the only one defending Catholicism at the Al Smith dinner!

All I can say is that Republicans have 'ruled the day' before, many times, in fact, since the ridiculously flawed and inhumane RvW decision.
Will this time be different?
Trump seems like one of the worst 'pro-life fakes' I have ever seen.
But, time will tell, and I HOPE I am proven wrong.

I think you will find Trump to be a man of his word because he is far from ordinary when it comes to politics,i don't see him bending to the whims of anyone.I will hold Trump the same way i hold myself and i have changed my mind over different issues and i don't consider myself a fake.

Val--Standing • 7 years ago

I have changed my mind over some issues as well, but I just can't help feeling that Trump was just pandering for pro-life votes.
What I think no longer matters--he will be the President.
I will gladly 'eat crow' if I turn out to be wrong about him.

He is already backtracking on Obamacare and banning Muslims. Because Hillary won the popular vote by almost 2 million (so far), the Democrat Senators are far more likely to filibuster any right wing judges and make him settle for a center-right nominee. Any religious nut nominee could he "Borked", too. Borked means a total war to dehumanize and demonize the nominee. Borked is the politics of personal destruction. We dont need that so a center right justice is the only reasonable course of action. I fully expect to see waves of filibusters regarding Trump's more controversial promises. He won't be able to be a strongman in this country.

jimmym99755 • 7 years ago

No she didn't. She lost the Pop vote too, 7 million Dem fraudulent votes and counting.

Val--Standing • 7 years ago

Well I am glad he is "back tracking" a bit from his inflammatory rhetoric about cutting millions of people off from receiving health care for no good reason, and I am also glad he has toned back the anti-Muslim ranting a bit.
But I HOPE he does not back tract on defending the unborn (the one issue he "claims" to support that I agree with), but it would not suprise me at all if he does.
Trump is truly an 'unknown'
quantity.
I thought of the possibility of the senate denying Clinton any of her SCOTUS picks.
The same thing could happen with Trump's picks.

Pro birth, not pro life. The Republicans will demonize those children 2 seconds after they're born

Defunding planned parenthood is near impossible. Only last year, Democrats filibustered the effort and good for them. If Trump appoints right wing religious nuts on the bench and they overturn Roe v Wade all that does is leave it to the states. It wont ban the procedure what will hsppen is that liberal policies will continue to bring down teen pregnancies and abortion while Christian Taliban states will remain the places with the highest levels of single mom households, STDs, teen pregnancies, poverty,.publuc assistance levels.

Calvin Freiburger • 7 years ago

It's cute how you don't realize throwing around phrases like "Christian Taliban" signals to readers how seriously they should take your comments (i.e., not at all).

go America

I fully expect President Trump to do his best at keeping his word.Trump never changed his talking points depending on where he held his rallies whereas Hillary talks to the crowd at hand.I see no reason not to trust Trump and every reason not to trust Hillary.Hillary blames Comey and even Obama for her defeat when the buck really stops at her desk, she is responsible for the way everything turned out and no one else.

Already backtracking, he is
