Wow. Just in the past two days the opinion page of the MIJ (this article and the garbage about white privilege and housing that ran yesterday in Marin Voice) has validated my reluctant decision to vote for Trump. Hooray for Trump and one of what I'm hoping will be many blows to the Administrative State!

You give Trump too much credit. This will be like the W admin in which the VP is the one running things.

Are we suppose to applaud the continuance of an Apartheid county because a racist was elected to the presidency?

We're better than that. Show Me Hero In Marin.

WOW! Had never heard of AFFH until now...holeee crap! I had no idea such insidious social engineering was at work here. I thought the whole ABAG/Wincup/high density thing was the result of local air-heads wanting a feel good solution to a non-problem. The fact that the feds are pushing this is scary indeed, since once that monster goes into action it can be DECADES to make changes.

Looking at the AFFH calendar on the HUD website it appears this program is going full speed ahead, election be damned. Those social engineers at HUD have been busily typing typing away writing new regs and advisories. Meanwhile we go along fat dumb and happy, thinking the biggest threat to our quality of life is some minor league development like Wincup. One wonders how many similar programs have been implemented, and how many bureaucrats have been set to work in pursuit of the one-world agenda. Trump better get busy, and soon.

It may have taken Marin off the target list but will the supervisors not still use the old HUD agreement to rationalize fast growth?

Perhaps not - they had a sanity check and had to course change to keep their seats at the last election.

I spoke to the dept yesterday, they are working on a new agreement with HUD, along the lines of the old one. They want it.

Thank you, Mr. S., for putting the responsibility for fair housing where it always belonged: on the shoulders of local decision makers.

Well said @david

Absolutely this will change the leadship at HUD which has screwed up Urban housing for decades. After ruining many inner cities they decided to attempt to ruin the suburbs, and that is now unlikely , for the near future anyway.

I think people will eventually have many things to thank him for but they will be loath to admit. Can't blame'em.
