The Second Amendment to the US Constitution is a uniquely American endeavor brought fourth to defend America, even from itself if need be.

In that regard Donald Trump is as American as the Second Amendment itself.

FauxScienceSlayer • 7 years ago

HillBillary doesn't want to ABOLISH the Second Amendment....she wants to....

appoint the one needed "justice" who will ABOLISH the Second without blame

for DINOs in congress or signed by DINO president....Pontius Pilte in a pantsuit.....

Cat • 7 years ago

There is only ONE choice for America-loving Patriots…Donald TRUMP!!

DefiantDeity • 7 years ago

I cannot stand the democrats as much as anyone else but please don't spread false information. SCOTUS cannot abolish any amendment. They can try and put restrictions or interpret it to fit their agenda but even that is against the Constitution. If Americans ever decide to grow a spine we would not have to worry about people taking our rights away because we would take our country back from them, this is our right given to us by the constitution. The government will try and label us terrorist or radicals but as long as the people stick together Washington would fall. Or we can do it peacefully by The convention of the states article 5, which would take all power away from the Feds and give it back to the States as intended.

FrancisMarion • 7 years ago

In the originalist view of the court, you would be right. BUT, the court as it stands today WRITES law. It is no longer a court, but rather an un-elected, SUPER LEGISLATURE, lording over us with simple strokes of the pen.

I challenge your claim that the court hasn't already abolished the 2nd Amendment, as written. What part of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" is too hard to understand? Please show me the clause in the 2nd Amendment that gives the government power to force background checks, mandate a license, require training and require the payment of a fee. What if we installed those same requirements on freedom of speech?

You are very naive to think that we will ever regain lost freedom peacefully.

“Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.” -- George Washington

99laststraw • 7 years ago

If a progressive SCOTUS rules that the 2nd Amendment is, as Hillary claims, "not an individual right," then the only thing that the 2nd Amendment would protect is a State's right to maintain an armory for their state militia (a.k.a., the National Guard).
Think about that: If the only Constitutional "right to keep and bear arms" is for a state to provide an auxiliary for the nation's armed forces, then the 2nd Amendment would, in fact, be as good as abolished.
Don't kid yourself, that is exactly the end game they have in mind.

Clemsworld • 7 years ago

States rights have been abolished in many cases. Look at the commerce clause and how the judges blew that one.

DefiantDeity • 7 years ago

Indeed they have! Look how obama writes a letter demanding all public schools abide by what he says when it comes to the transgender bathroom issue. If they do not fall in line then he threatens them by saying he will withhold federal funding. The abuse of power is disgusting. That's why I said we need to get behind the convention of the states. Congress, POTUS, SCOTUS would be powerless to stop them and all the power the 3 branches enjoy now will be taken away and given back to the States. The founders knew the federal government may one day grow too big and powerful so they gave us this option to seize power back from the feds.

gregmax68 • 7 years ago

"SCOTUS" and the statist legislatures CAN effectively eliminate any amendment. You point is taken, but there are more ways to kill our liberty than declaring them void. And don't hold your breath for the citizens to "grow a spine". Most of us are too comfortable to sacrifice anything for our liberty.

Flyoverman • 7 years ago

During the Revolution one third of the people were Tories, one third were Patriots, and one third did not care. Probably the same ratio today except it is 20-35-45.

JohnGaltDurham • 7 years ago

Weak and evil leaders must always take the guns and make sure the powerful are the only ones who have them or know how to use them.

Jess Axen • 7 years ago

And, by contrast, Hillary isn't.

Flyoverman • 7 years ago

If that is the case, you might as well get ready to turn in your weapons. If you think he is the Savior of the Second Amendment, I have an unexploded AT round I would like you to defuse.

Patriot Reload • 7 years ago

He used the word "defend" not "Save".
If the 2nd Amendment needs salvaging or saving then it is up to "we the people" to do that. It helps though, to have a candidate who has vowed to help defend the 2nd Amendment as opposed to someone who has vowed to undermine it.

Flyoverman • 7 years ago

Well we no longer have one. If you want to save it, you are not going to accomplish that by electing any the three remaining candidates. If you were ever actually active in the Tea Party, you would know that.

jerry the First • 7 years ago

stupid much?

Flyoverman • 7 years ago

Not much of a retort. Obviously you ve none.

Patriot Reload • 7 years ago

Get over yourself already ... Arrogance is unbecoming.

Flyoverman • 7 years ago

Again, if you could refute the points in the post you would do so. When you make a personal attack instead it means you have no counterpoint to make.

Patriot Reload • 7 years ago

You must be a real joy to be around ...
OK, let us review here:

1. EOD made a comment about the 2nd Amendment and Trump being as "as American as the Second Amendment itself".

2. YOU then commented about about EOD thinking that Trump would be the "savior" of the 2nd Amendment" or something like that ... you exact words were

If that is the case, you might as well get ready to turn in your weapons. If you think he is the Savior of the Second Amendment, I have an unexploded AT round I would like you to defuse.

3. I then replied to you that EOD didn't use the word "Save" or "Savior" ... that was your word not his.
EOD used the word "Defend".

4. Your next reply was an insinuation that I must not have been part of the Tea Party movement or something to that effect ... your words were

If you were ever actually active in the Tea Party, you would know that.

5. In your next reply you said I made a personal attack ... of course anyone reading this thread can see that that is simply a lie.

You keep talking about a "counterpoint" .... my counterpoint was made in my first post. You implied that EOD thinks of Trump as a 2nd Amendment "Savior" when in fact he referred to him as a 2nd Amendment "Defender".

It is YOU that carries the burden of proof in showing us that Trump would not defend the 2nd Amendment.

Guest • 7 years ago

Thanks Bro, you saved me a lot of typing.

Flyoverman • 7 years ago

The REAL issue is Trump's potential judicial appointments. That is Der Schwerpunkt.

He can brag about being concealed carry all he wants. He is indifferent when it comes to the Constitution and judicial appointments. His list of 11 potential judicial appointments is campaign rhetoric. Again, Trump 2013 and earlier is Trump. There is no evidence whatsoever to logically conclude Trump will appoint judges that will preserve and protect the Constitution.

He can puff himself up and tell you he supports the Second Amendment and he may even be sincere. But you can ask George W. Bush if he supported Obamacare. Well look what his appointment did. Does David Souter ring a bell. The bottom line is there is no longer any margin for error. Well, when we nominated Trump, any hope of turning this around died.

Vote for Trump. I just want you to understand the cost of nominating him. Our only hope comes down to the Convention of States.

Bob X from Texas • 7 years ago

Tyrants always want the peasants disarmed.

The Second Amendment was put in place to defend the country from Tyrants like Hillary.

Random 549 • 7 years ago

Its a simple choice: Hillary = gun confiscation
Trump = 50 State Constitutional carry

"50 State Constitutional carry"

I would absolutely love to see this happen.

Crooked Hilary will abuse the constitution like she abused Bill's victims!
She has a proven track record in that regard.

XavierFactor • 7 years ago

"...shall not be infringed"!

Haywood j bloom • 7 years ago

What part of THAT don't they get?

Phantomp • 7 years ago

Disarming it's people is the first step in total Government control of the masses . Protect your right to protect yourself from all forms of oppression.

Uncle Gazpacho • 7 years ago

Because Hillary is a liar of the first order, we must believe the worst about her.

Guest • 7 years ago

And it usually turns out to be even worse than that.

Casualobserver • 7 years ago

I don't think any 2nd amendment supporter needed this article to tell us which way to vote. There are much easier and painless ways to commit suicide than to vote for Hillary

KamAllah Hairlip • 7 years ago

#NeverHillary

americalsgt • 7 years ago

Without the 2nd amendment the rest of the bill of rights is just ink on paper

Guest • 7 years ago

But, but, but... Cruz said Trump was going to abolish the 2nd Amendment.

Oh wait... Ted lied?

OneNationUnderGOD • 7 years ago

Senator Cruz has a impeccable record defending the 2nd Amendment. The only thing Trump is on record saying, before running for president, was he supported an assult weapon ban. Let us hope Lyin' Donald doesn't turn out to be Lyin' Donald. We'll have to keep our fingers crossed as Trump changes his mind a LOT.

Guest • 7 years ago
DefiantDeity • 7 years ago

They had no choice but to back Trump, who else is there that is running? One of those traitors that wrote the gun control bill after Newtown had an A rating from the NRA, so ratings or an endorsement really does not guarantee anything. OneNationUnderGOD is correct in his post. When it comes to our second amendment no one comes close to what Cruz has done for it. Trump has only words, which I hope he stands by. I fear he sways with whatever way the winds blowing that day, just like he has talked about raising the minimum wage, backed off on refugees, and will not state what he thinks about the transgender bathroom issue.

KamalaTheButcherHarris • 7 years ago

Hillary, don't give up, forget that you have failed at every opportunity, forget you have zero qualifications, forget you have already lost, forget about the motel room Bill is in right m now, now get the Mao dress on and get out there and cough!!

Haywood j bloom • 7 years ago

Mao dress.....LMAO....every time I read that I break out laughing

Guest • 7 years ago

Trump yes

Clinton no

Your choice is clear folks. Vote for Donald Trump to be our next president and let's make America great again 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

TheConstitutionMatters • 7 years ago

"Rather, she wants to use the Supreme Court to reverse decisions that recognized the Second Amendment as a protection of the individual right to own a gun" Ummm, it's the exact same thing. Only the words changed.

Liberals love to bandy words.

Especially the Clintons.

Jess Axen • 7 years ago

That's right. He didn't refute the allegation, but merely described how she would go about it.

Butch • 7 years ago

Hillary needs to get rid of all those dangerous armed bodyguards first!!!!!

Guest • 7 years ago

Good point. Remember Hilary, Caligula was killed by his body guards.

🦑 🐙 • 7 years ago

Yup, the statistics are that bodyguards are just as likely to kill you than protect you, so let's ban them.

Butch • 7 years ago

Caligula was more fun

OneNationUnderGOD • 7 years ago

With Hillary's ability to dodge sniper fire, what would she need armed guards for?
