i guess most people have missed the first opportunity at the innkeeper at white orchard?

gwent and the quest to get em' all sucks donkey ass!

kmtb • 8 years ago

Yea I'm pretty sure I have. I also just finished Now or Never so I've missed out on a lot since I've only played Gwent a few times so far.

Metiiin • 8 years ago

They patched it, you can get the cards from the merchant you save at the very beginning now.

Black-Moustache • 8 years ago

She isn't reappearing for me.

Metiiin • 8 years ago

Its not the innkeeper, after she gets her face bashed in shes gone from the Inn. Gotta go to the merchant that sells the Temerian Armor that stands on the road.

SplatFish • 8 years ago

Not for consoles, patch 1.04 isn't out yet and should be out soon :)

Black-Moustache • 8 years ago

I got console version so I guess I gotta wait to get the best Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

Black-Moustache • 8 years ago

Alrighty~

Darak • 8 years ago

just read the final part of the guide and there is your way to get the card

Mason Smith • 4 years ago

Gwent is the best you cant say nothing you probably when you were doing the first mission talked to the scholars and played gwent and lost (some how lol so fun and easy)

vIM4YH3MzIv • 8 years ago

no cards are missable their patching it so there won't be any missable cards

kmd_pain • 8 years ago

are you sure? it would suck if there would be no other way than replaying the game from the prolouge.

kmtb • 8 years ago

Hopefully that's true, because nothing's worse than missable collectibles in games this big.

NeoPeon • 8 years ago

Hope you're right! Wonder where I can get the Bloody Baron's card? Because I just finished Family Matters. Of course I saw the option to play him and I thought, "I'll do that later." WRAONGUH!

Naxemar • 8 years ago

Baron left his card in the castle (in chest)

FriskyMango • 8 years ago

even if you fail to challenge the bloody baron before he hangs himself?

Matchstick • 8 years ago

If you complete family matters before getting the card, it will be in the Baron's study along with the details for carrying on with the Velen Players quest.

Rick Coultish • 8 years ago

He never hung himself in my play through, went to look after his wife, his card was in his office.😁

Guest • 8 years ago

If you saved the children from the Crones he kills himself, if the children die he goes to live with his wife in the mountains

Member Berries • 8 years ago

The card you get during the Vegelbud's masquerade ball is missable if you fail to play cards there. I did not notice the quest as I was too busy looking around and looting tables.

I read that is how to get Dandelion's card. I have decided to save before each Gwent game on my next playthrough. If a vendor or inn keep gives me a lame card I will reload for a better one.

Bos • 8 years ago

I am not planning to get all the collection because I am not a completist guy, I am simply enjoying the game, and I have a pretty cool deck, and I am always happy to duel every vendor I find just for the fun of it.

Cards are a nice addition to this RPG, I was not loving a side-game so much since Final Fantasy 8!

Mixalis Mixailidis • 8 years ago

Cantarella did not steal any cards from me even though i had Geralt sleep with her.

Mixalis Mixailidis • 8 years ago

anyone else can confirm this? i guess your dialogue options can have different results.

Roman • 8 years ago

This is a lie, she won't rob you and there are no ways to lose cards.

FrizzHed • 8 years ago

She does not steal any cards. You cannot lose any cards in this game, just miss out on them.

mukhlisz • 8 years ago

phew thanks for confirming this. losing those cards would be worse than getting an STD. oh wait Geralt's immune..

cduchess • 8 years ago

Can you please list all of the people you can play for the cards. Not all merchants and artisans play.

Jarren • 8 years ago

I know I'm 4 months late......but here you go lol

lk kara • 8 years ago

Lovr Gwent, love W3.. I feel like I'm 15 again playing FF7 for the first time.

Chastity Roberts • 8 years ago

I beat the game and now i can't find roche or dijkstra. I hope i don't have to play the game all over again.

Matthew Bryant • 8 years ago

Sasha doesn't steal any cards if you sleep with her. False rumor.

Roman • 8 years ago

The biggest tip I can give people that most "guides" fail to mention is that the Trader in Claywich is not in Claywich until you free him from a cage in a bandit camp due east of the town. Look for the Cage icon then free him. He will travel to Claywich and from there you can buy 4 cards off of him.

Harold IV • 8 years ago

Lambert's card can be found on the beds in Kaer Morhen post-story if you don't play him.

Aleksei Kosterin • 8 years ago

The worst achievement in game industry ever. This is fucking Witcher! and I better kill monsters rather then sit my ass in a tavern.

cdurkinz • 8 years ago

Even Geralt of Rivia needs a break every now and then.

FullMetalbishop • 4 years ago

i know im like 5 years late but...

you've never jump roped in ff9 before and it shows.

JeffE • 8 years ago

Got the achievement today, thx for the info, you forget the merchant in Lindenvale (Velen) though, pretty essential, took a while to find the last one :p

Rish • 8 years ago

Ive done everything on the list and havnt completed it? What have i done wrong

Rissquette • 8 years ago

If it hasn't been said before, I just wanted to point out that Velen Players can be complete even after Family Matters *SPOILERS* If your choice leads to the baron's death. His Dijkstra card can be looted along with a research note about other players in Velen. If it can't be found in his office, there's a notice board in the city of Benek, which is directly south of Oxenfurt, that gives the quest Velen Players..

Same with Lambert's Triss Marigold card: it can be looted from Lambert's footlocker even after the battle of Kaer Morhen, and the Old Pals quest can still be completed after *SPOILERS* Lambert leaves with Keira Metz if you recruit her.

Smaartiess • 6 years ago

Where is this footlocker of Lambert?

Rissquette • 6 years ago

if I remember correctly, it will be on the bottom floor of Kaer Morhen in one of the farther back rooms near the stairs and against a wall. If you enter Kaer Morgen from its main entrance, you will walk through the many large rooms it has and when you enter the last one (I think) it’ll be on your right.

Weetikveel :P • 6 years ago

Ty so much for this answer! Will look into it as soon as I'm home :)

Maybe you know this as well. Even though I am quite far in the main story and allready started to gather people for the fight against the Wild Hunt. (The Baron is death and I cannot challenge Lambert to a gwent game anymore, also he is not in the nowhere Inn, but just hanging around in Kaer Morhen) Would I still be able to gather all these cards for the quest "Collect em all"?

I am not quite the lover of Gwent and want to complete The Witcher 3 for 100%.

Also I did not played a single Gwent game up untill now... I kinda bought everything when I saw Gwent cards in a shop...

So, the question in short. Can I collect every Gwent card even after the Baron hang himself and Lambert is just chilling around at the table (where you get drunk) in Kaer Morhen all the time... ?

(Different account, I am Smaartiess, but forgot the password to Discuss..)

Rissquette • 6 years ago

You’re welcome for the reply. :)

You’ll be able to get the Baron’s card too, it is inside his office at his fortress in Velen. There are a few cards you only have one chance to get, however. The only one I can remember off the top of my head is the Dandelion card which can be won at a Gwent table during the ‘A Matter of Life and Death’ side quest given to you by Triss. You only have once chance to get it and cannot go back to the Veglebud ball for a second time. I think there are other cards like this but I never tried to get all the cards so I never did any research to confirm this. You can have a good deck and win tournaments without every single card. The collect them all achievement will not be able to be earned on your save file if you’ve missed it unfortunately.

Edit: Read your post again and it seems like you’re not far enough (at the time of your post) to be able to get Lambert’s card if you haven’t had the big battle at Kaer Morhen yet, you can only get his card early if you meet him in Velen near he beginning of the game, assuming you’ve also recruited Kiera Metz. You get drunk and play Gwent with the Witchers at Kaer Morhen during the story line, maybe you can win it then but I’m not positive. Hope this helps.

Buddydudeguy • 8 years ago

Question I'm trying to get straitened out is the player in hte inn that's nearly unbeatable....does he reward you with a missable UNIQUE or is it simply a random card you can get somewhere else.

Stephen Joel Williamson • 8 years ago

So I beat the Elf and got the Ciri card but my Novigrad Gwent quest won't complete. Anyone know why?
