Was Jonah a "doom and gloom" prophet? He didn't offer any hope to the Ninevites, yet that generation repented, and God spared them. Nahum, was he a "doom and gloom" prophet? He didn't offer any hope, either, and no repentance followed. Nineveh was destroyed, and never rebuilt. Two very similar messages to the same people; two different outcomes.

America, secular and church have sinned greatly, and presently neither show much of a promise of repentance. If we pray for God's will to be done on earth, and His will is to break the stubborn spine of America, is it really "doom and gloom" to say so? I believe in a revival of the Daniel 12:3 remnant, and the continued apostasy of those who are hardening their hearts toward His will. If that's considered "gloom and doom", so be it.

I'm not particularly fond of the term, "Doom and gloom". I don't see judgment as total destruction, although I know God did do that in the past. I believe the judgment that is coming is judgment to repentance. Judgment to bring people to the knees in front of the Cross.
And let's face it, with the condition this country is now in, if God was to pour out blessings on us now, there would be no repentance, no turning, and this nation would continue to turn her back on God just as she has been the past many years.
Disasters are coming, and most likely at least one attack. Extremely credible prophetically gifted people who do not give out words unless they know they are from God, have said this is coming. One man was visited by an angel and told that Russia will attack us. A Godly man, who was never wrong.
Yes, I believe we should be stocking up on everything we normally use, our medicines, and extra supplies, to be ready to provide for our families, certainly, but also to be able to help our friends and neighbors who are clueless and will be terrified when these things happen. What a time to witness! What an opportunity to tell them about the Lord and to show them His love!
I believe there will be a time of awakening for the end-time harvest to happen, for souls to be reached, but with so many pieces of Bible prophecy now in place that match up with Scripture, there's no way that they will all change back again and we will have decades and decades before the we see the return of Christ. I believe we have less than two decades left, if that.

We are presently at the 5th Seal in Rev. 6. The 6th is God's answer to the 5th. Read the last two verses of 6th. seal - the underground bunkers are already in place. The end of the 6th. seal is the beginning of "The great day of His Wrath" - The Tribulation. The Church is on Earth in the 5th seal. It's in Heaven in midway of chapter 7.

Scoopie • 8 years ago

Brian Carn prophesied on live tv back in March "prepare for the 6th seal". In order to prepare for the 6th seal, we must already be in the 5th. Other than this prophecy, I've never heard him teach on rapture, the tribulation, etc. Makes me believe the legitimacy of the word he spoke out more.

Here's the vid; he speaks it about 1:24 or soon after..

I agree! Although I would say 2 years, not 2 decades....and even that's pushing it.

diana • 8 years ago

I am pretty sure that it will be far far longer than that, although every generation thinks they are the last one of course. Both my husband and I and others we know have had words from God about things that He is going to do in this life that will take a lot of time, not just a few years. Things way into the future. I would be v surprised if it happened in my life time and I am in my 50's.

diana • 8 years ago

where does God tell us to stock up on things? He tells us that HE will provide and that we are not to worry about tomorrow.

stefanstackhouse • 8 years ago

This entire world, including the USA, is certainly doomed. Fortunately, God through Jesus Christ has provided an escape plan!

To be sure, God isn't done until He is done, and there is still time for people to repent and believe the gospel before it is too late. Be assured, however, that "too late" is on its way and may be here sooner than you realize.

Where is this "great awakening" told to us in scripture? I have read about a falling away but can't seem to find something about a great awakening.

Joel 2 is about Israel, not America---in fact America isn't mentioned at all in the bible. That scripture doesn't work, try another!

Jennifer takes positive pills. The way I look at it, is that if you lead your neighbor's family to the Lord, then for them, it's absolute revival; it's altered their eternal destiny.
I just look at grand revival talk in a microcosm sense.

Stephen Duplantis • 8 years ago

I totally agree!

Janebel • 8 years ago

I am beginning to think that in countries that have war, famine, persecution and fear, people cry out to God but western civilization is too comfortable with life. There is little need or seeking of God. May be something has to happen that causes the lost to seek Him.
On the flip side, is God's church prepared for revival. As it stands His church is not functioning as God intended it to. So my prayer is for God to remove sin from the Body of Christ, to bring His healing, to teach us His truth, to prepare His church for what is to come, where He is the head and He is known by His people, where His love abounds. In Jesus` name.

Scoopie • 8 years ago

Jennifer, the mercy of God could be shown in a true revival that comes to pass as a result of some kind of disaster. 911 happened, and it produced a hiccup, not a revival. Too many warnings multiplied, given by some who have a good reputation prophetically.

The Guest • 8 years ago

I'm glad someone is reading and studying the word. I'm more wary of false prophets who preach "Peace! Peace!" when there is no peace! The people didn't listen to God's prophets either. They didn't want to hear Jeremiah's warnings, and would instead say "This is the temple of the Lord!" and put their trust in false prophets who told them what they wanted to hear. I believe and have faith in God's word, as we are told to do. God is not a man that He should lie. Has He not said and shall He not do? Has He not declared and shall He not make good? This age is coming to an end, and repent is the message! Turn your hearts and minds back to God and Christ! We are to expect the Second Coming of our Lord, like good brides. We are told to keep watch like good brides, and keep oil (faith) in our lamps. We are told to study the word.

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up." Matthew 24:42-43

"Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants." Luke 12:37-38

"For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man." Matthew 24:38-39 ... In the days of Noah people scoffed, had no faith, were engrossed in every sin, were worshipping the creation and self rather than the Creator - just as they do today. 2 Peter, 2 Timothy and the book of Jude tell us how it will be in the Last Days, and ***according to what they say we ARE in the Last Days,*** as in the days of Noah.

Didn't the prophets like Ezekiel, Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezra, Zechariah, etc. etc. all prophesy so called "doom and gloom"? They were not sent to give soothing words and bring blessings of prosperity. Did they not give God's warnings for this world, this age, this coming time of the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord? Did they not get sent to call God's people, and Gentiles, to repentance? Were we not specifically told signs in the Heavens and the Earth and seasons to watch for, and told to watch specifically as a command by Christ himself? Isn't the Book of Revelation a warning to all churches to pay attention to the signs of the approaching wrath of the Lamb to come?

Mark Romine Ministries • 8 years ago

Yeah, I think that that makes some good points. I think that for many people, it would actually be better to turn off the news for awhile; take a walk or whatever.

Peter J Shepherd • 8 years ago

I agree... I also understand the prophets of doom and gloom, but, I do not believe that America has fulfilled her God-given destiny... which we must pursue, as individuals, and as a nation..
.
I believe, first of all, that we are the Eagle Nation mentioned in Daniel 7:4... What do we celebrate every year on 7/4? We celebrate the American Eagle becoming independent from the British Lion.

"The first was like a lion and had eagle’s wings. I watched until its wings were plucked and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it."

The American Eagle is also represented by a man... Uncle Sam.... and given the heart of a man... a heart of compassion, symbolized by the phrase, "give ye your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."

In Revelation 12 we see the woman (Israel) that gave birth to the man-child (Jesus) being persecuted by the serpent, and:
" The woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is to be nourished for a time and times and half a time (3 1/2 years), from the presence of the serpent."
I believe it's the same Eagle in Daniel 7.

Secondly, the early pilgrims dedicated the land to "the advancement of the Christian Faith." (Mayflower Compact) and the worldwide propagation of the Gospel. (Virginia Beach)

We, as a nation, must get back to our God-given purpose: Protecting the Jews, and propagating the Gospel worldwide.

The wicked are getting more wicked; it's the righteous that are lagging behind at getting more righteous. The church needs to judge itself so it can avoid the judgment of being left behind. If the church presses after God to the point where reprobate false brethren start being literally slain by the presence of God in their assemblies, then we may have a hope of our nations turning to the Living God.

Any country that runs a bankrupt debt sheet and prints off money is heading into financial collapse. The revival may come when we are begging on our knees for provision

Debbie • 8 years ago

I realize that no one knows the day of Jesus return, he does tell us to watch the seasons and the signs. If we are watching then I would say we are in the last days. If we agree on that then we have to look at what scriptures say. If it is not the last days then perhaps we can hope for a great revival. If it is the last days, 2 Thess 2:3 says Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, this means that not only is there not going to be a great revival in the sense of numbers, there is going to be a great falling away by the people who are in "church". The remnant however will come forth as the true church. God is warning America and the church, we need to pay close attention and not believer that everything in the country is going to be ok. Jesus is King but to believe that terrible things are not coming to America because of her sin is not believing the Bible

I follow many men and women of God and follow their teachings with the scriptures. Every Christian that I have talked to have different ideas about what the scriptures mean. I believe the whole bible is applied to us. We have fallen away from God in the United States and we are going to face judgement unless we repent. Call it doom and gloom , but the Holy Spirit urges to be prepared. These men and women dare to stand up and deliver these messages of " doom and gloom" praise God for them. As a nation under God we need them as well as teaching Christians how to live a blessed life in Christ.

She shouldn't be preaching to us anyway, she's a woman. Women aren't supposed to be preachers. There are only two places for a woman, the bedroom and the kitchen.

Jennifer LeClaire is no prophet. She only gives cryptic prophesies such as ' change is coming', ' a new wave', 'a new day', 'a new wind',etc. Her and those of her group are about to get a reality check. By the way Thurs and Fri the market lost a total of 888 points. Here you go Jen, "888, it's a new beginning" only not as you think. It's the beginning of the total destruction of the USA! And all those following your 'feel good' prophesy are going to be devastated.

Scoopie • 8 years ago

Interesting take on the 888 drop, based on how many interpret numbers.

diana • 8 years ago

I too am fed up with the doom mongers, the constant predictions that dont come to pass year after year decade after decade. Surely our Bible says that our judgements will come after death or after Jesus returns, not before.

MJ Bark • 8 years ago

Apples and oranges! America is "Babylon the Great" of Rev. 18 and Judgement is eminent! Even the statue of Liberty has it's roots in the Babylonian goddess - "ISIS" - the moon god! Innocent blood to the tune of 60 million aborted babies plus the funding of "ISIS's" murdering many more with us setting idly by is causing the land itself to puke out it's inhabitants. Le 18:28 "That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you." Le 20:22 "Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out." Read the whole chapters. Basically, God placed certain laws into creation itself that if a society allows the wickedness seen in those two chapters (Lev. 18, 20 also, Gen. 4:8-11) to continue and injustice to continue unchecked and unpunished, the land itself, apart from God will puke us out. A society has a responsibility to judge wickedness and to keep the scales of Justice satisfied. If They don't, they will cease from being a society! As far as "Oranges," Many might repent and turn to Jesus Christ when judgement falls!

Americans always think that the Bible and revelations is all about them. There are over 100 other countries in the world.

you are correct....America is not a biblical player. A fact most can't accept.
in fact Israel may protect America, because of her kindness she has shown towards Israel.

I for one do not believe any of these doom and gloom prophets. These so called prophets are still trying to act and speak like OT prophets and prophesy judgement. It is quite apparent most of the so called prophets today DO NOT know the NT role of the prophet. It's also quite apparent they are out to make money.

The role of the prophet today is found in 1 Corinthians 14:3 (NLT) "But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them". It is also found in Rev 19:10 (NLT) "For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus". Prophesy today is not for doom, gloom, or judgement like it was in the OT. No where in the NT will you find the role of a doom and gloom prophet.

Christians need to learn that judgement comes when we leave this earth Heb 9:27 and it will not be us Christians being judged. The judgments in Revelation hopefully happen after the church is gone.

If our economy collapses it is because we have reaped what we have sowed. If we have a war it is because we have put evil men in office like 0bama who makes deals with the devil (Iran).

Jesus told us what to look for when he returns in Matt 24 and Luke 17. The church needs to keep their eyes on what Jesus said to look for and stop listening to these doom and gloom money makers i.e. prophets.

diana • 8 years ago

yes and that is what I sad above, judgment doesnt come from God while we are on earth, we are all judged after death the Bible says.

diana • 8 years ago

I so agree, Prophecy now is entirely different from what it was before Jesus came. Its for God to encourage and edify and exhort His children, not to tell us all what terrible things may or may not happen.

TruthWins • 8 years ago

New Testament prophet in action...

[Acts 11:27-30]

And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch. Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar. Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea. This they also did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

A great famine is a terrible thing.
