As a reminder sir, UNCLOS is a UN agreement governing our behavior in the sea. It states that you have 12 miles of sea from your border and 200 miles of sea for your exclusive economic zone. Or maybe you do not know that China is also a signatory to said Treaty. That is the very reason you do not want to participate in the international arbitration. Im not condoning Argentina's act but if the Chinese honor the UNCLOS of which the communist chinese government is a signatory, it will not happen. The Com. Gov't. of China signs and signs document and do not honor it. There was once a Gov't. in our country that has so many shortcomings. We deal with it, we answered it with people power. UNCLOS clearly states there can be overlapping jurisdictions which must be negotiated BETWEEN THE STATES. Both China and the Japan are required to work it out themselves. Neither the UN, nor the Hague has jursidiction to determine territorial limits in overlapping jurisdictions.

Japan can only resolve the problem through diplomatic relations because its constitution forbids military intervention.

The first invasion force was decisively defeated by the Japanese at the Battle of Torikai-Gata. The typhoon hit them when they tried to escape back to China.

The second invasion force was blocked from landing by well prepared Japanese coastal defense (a series of battles known as Battle of Koan). The invasion force had to stay put in their fleet when the typhoon hit them. They couldn't secure a beach head (despite trying at multiple landing points).
