A bit of a silly ploy on the part of the author, in the process of running down some very important issues, to expect Obama to do anything about them. But however helpful he's been in a number of progressive but safe and mostly half-ass (Obamacare - give me a break, a sop to the "health care" industry) areas to support, he is a liberal you know, and as such he's a master at talking pretty and fooling the gulible while prioritizing corporate stability and profit, and the imperialistic, anti-democratic foreign policy necessary to accompany it. Harvard educated ruling class guy, not possible that he's any kind of friend of regular people. Saying he's been one of our best presidents, while it may be true, isn't saying much. If we can't do better, we may as well have Trump, because the difference between him and any standard issue liberal, Hillary being a perfect example, isn't as much as most people are freaking out about.

Obama faithfully and completely fulfilled the expectations of the Owner Class and did his job well during Ronald Reagan's 8th and 9th terms...

Just as Hillary would have in Ronald Reagan's 10th term...

But Drumpf will have to suffice...

Why, yes, how'd you guess? I am deranged. And you are..... no, it can't be..... but it must, given your few but oh so wise words.... The One Who Knows Everything! Pray tell, if I am wrong, what would be your judgement on our best presidents and an example, or a definition of a liberal? This should be good.

"IMO", gee, so modest. But then you've got a lot to be modest about, repeating what is conventional.

It seems you live here, and I was just visiting, briefly it seems, as there are much better things to do.

Zero for two...

For extra credit, contrast Obama and the conserva-dem/blue dog's 2 years of nonsense with FDR and the Democrat's first 100 days in 1933...

Unfortunately true...

And he ably served as pResident in Reagan's 8th and 9th terms...

Not one chance in a thousand that any of these will happen. President Obama seems to be a good man in a very dangerous spot where any effective action requires great courage (e.g. level of courage needed is equivalent to the courage required for JFK to walk out of the meeting with the joint chiefs where they proposed a false flag operation killing US citizens to give the US a reason to attack Cuba.) It's my opinion that Mr. Obama has not yet demonstrated a willingness to accept that kind of short-term heat for long-term benefits and is unlikely to in the next month.

If President Obama were a good man he would have done many of these things a long time ago.

There are plenty of other things too, such as mass pardons for minor drug offenders, starting the removal of pot from the Schedule I list, freeing Don Siegelman, admitting the horrid body scanner system was done just for a big campaign donation (there's good circumstantial evidence for that) and is a disgrace to America, and a hundred other things laying bare the worst of a deeply corrupt government that thrives on endless power. But many of these would require real courage, the ability to admit he was wrong, and acceptance of being a permanent outcast from the power structure. In short, they are not going to happen.

Obama is a little busy right now, booking speeches. Obama is handing Trump a turn-key dictatorship, and the spineless Dems are doing nothing about it.

"Spineless Dems" is redundant. This article was a nice little pipe dream while it lasted.
