What happened to investigating the selection of Bush as President or his lies about WMD's? Or that Trump is going to court soon for fraud? Or that Trump's entire life is a criminal enterprise? Why is Hillary the focus for 25 years of well-funded 1% attacks? Why does the "media" never do a job of investigation beyond "false equivalencies"? Why are Americans so dumb they buy the poison?

forbetterworld • 7 years ago

No I think that Truth-Out has it all pretty much covered. All Clintons, Bushes, Trumps, and Obamas are no longer acceptable examples of an effective leadership and this is pretty much demonstrated in the articles here. The bottom line is this: we need to bring forth something radically different that will reflect the lessons learned from all the failed systems (capitalism, communism, fascism, etc.). I think that Dr. Jill Stein could bring forth a truly positive change: social justice, social democracy, truly clean energy, rehabilitation of our environment, peace and abundance for all. Her platform reflects exactly what people began to ask for. We just need to stop yelling and screaming about the mess we are in and start implementing positive changes. Casting a vote for Jill Stein would be a great start.

LillithMc • 7 years ago

I would agree with everything you said other than not wanting a violent civil war which is where we are headed right now. I think we can avoid it for awhile with Clinton.

forbetterworld • 7 years ago

I am sorry but Trump is only guilty for openly saying the despicable things he wants to do but Hillary has a track record of doing those very despicable things. She is guilty of lying. She is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Under Hillary we are not going to postpone anything, we will not move forward an inch. It really doesn't matter whether you vote for Trump or Hillary. Casting a vote for either one will just get us more of the same. Neo fascism or neo liberalism, I think the lines are blurred.

LillithMc • 7 years ago

No she does not have a track record other than one of 25 years of neo-con lies about her. Hillary was at State for 4 years. She was not CIA, DOD, NSA, White House and the meetings she attended were classified so you do not know what happened there. The war in Iraq was started by the criminals Bush/Cheney you ignore. If you think Clinton is Trump that either you do not have the intelligence shown in your comments or you are maybe paid. Not buying it. The old false equivalency that is very dangerous. That is how Trump wins the insane old liar.

forbetterworld • 7 years ago

Lillith, I am sorry but you are simply not looking deep enough. I am with you on Trump and on the fact that he is dangerous but Hillary Clinton truly does have a dangerous track record. Are you familiar with NAFTA? That was pioneered by none other than Bill Clinton and Hillary was cheer-leading the efforts. Furthermore, if you google the top 20 donors to her campaign you will recognize that big corporations, profiteer banks, and military contractors are the biggest donors. These types of donations from these types of entities come with an implicit agenda. Why do you think we have corporatocracy these days? Because the Reagons, Clintons, Bushes, and Obamas ushered that in and to be continued by another Clinton. Do you also recognize that Clinton voted YES on invading Iraq and spearheaded the effort to give Libya and Syria a regime change as a Secretary of State. If you don't see that there is nothing more I can say to you. I am not in this to argue with anybody but to help people see the truth. I am saying this to you with all due respect; I too was a big fan of Obama and the Democratic administration far more than Republican but I realized they just lie. They are never motivated to actually implement the changes they talk about on the campaign trail. I am not voting for any establishment candidate again. My vote goes to Jill Stein. Period.

Something of a mixed bag in Haiti:
Haitians increasingly complain that the Clintons’ most ambitious plans are disconnected from the realities of most people in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
For instance, the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund invested more than $2 million in the Royal Oasis hotel, where a sleek suite with hardwood floors costs more than $200 a night and the shops sell $150 designer purses and $120 men’s dress shirts. One recent afternoon, the hotel appeared largely empty, and with tourism hardly booming five years after the quake, locals fear it may be failing.....

Other Clinton-backed projects have not delivered on lofty promises: A
2011 housing expo that cost more than $2 million, including $500,000
from the Clinton Foundation, was supposed to be a model for thousands of
new units but instead has resulted in little more than a few dozen
abandoned model homes occupied by squatters.

Controversy surrounding the Clintons only deepened with the recent revelation, contained in an upcoming book by Peter Schweizer, that Tony Rodham — Hillary Clinton’s younger brother — serves on the advisory board of a U.S.-based company that in 2012 won one of Haiti’s first two gold-mining permits in 50 years. After objection from the Haitian Senate, the permits have been placed on hold.
“Neither Bill Clinton nor the brother of Hillary Clinton are individuals who share the interests of the Haitian people,” said Samuel Nesner, an anti-mining activist who thinks mining poses great environmental risks and will mainly benefit foreign investors. “They are part of the elite class who are operating to exploit the Haitian
people.”....

Remember Bill was on the Board of Economic Development for Haiti and voted down a 20 cent raise to the workers in Haiti. That was 60 cents to 80 cents an hour. And why? Because his industrial park had WalMart looking for cheaper labor and exploiting Hatian labor.

Brewerstroupe • 7 years ago

" in the post-earthquake urgency to get the industrial park open, 450 farmers who relied on the land for subsistence had to be removed from their fertile plots. Some were only given five days' notice before the bulldozers moved in to clear the land on the one-year anniversary of the earthquake.

"It is one of the most heart-wrenching stories you can hear," says Kysseline Chérestal, a Haitian-American lawyer who works for ActionAid, an organization working to end poverty and improve human rights. She and her team interviewed about 150 of the farmers since their displacement.

"I don't mean to be dramatic, but from the perspective of an individual life, it's a horrific situation."
Sae-A currently employs just over 5,000 factory workers — mostly women under age 30 — at minimum wage, which is roughly $5 US per day. Chérestal says a living wage that would provide three square meals a day in Haiti would be at least double that.
The entire Caracol Industrial Park currently employs 5,500 people — far short of the original goal.....

"Caracol is a prime example of bad help," Steckley says. "The interests of the market, the interest of foreigners are prioritized over the majority of people who are impoverished in Haiti. The idea is that Haitian employees continue to make very minimum wages that barely provide for their subsistence while foreign companies extract the profits from their labour."

There is, virtually, no difference between the Clinton Foundation and the Congress, Senate, and President, chuck full of hustling corporatist shape shifting liars, goons, dopers, pedophiles, cretins, carny's - all sort of trash who take money from the rich and, blithely, destroy America. It's that simple. Look at all of them, including almost all the Black Caucus who, daily, stab Martin Luther King in the back along with the rest of us. That said, Bill Clinton was a lying, panhandling, womanizing, Fed sock puppet who, with the Fed Cartel and his Republican friends in Texas, destroyed the greatest economic engine in history. Then came the grotesque Bush Family cretin who, like Obama - through omission and comission - covered up the actual characters and sequence of events that, together, instigated and led to the bombing of New York City, not that the Mayors or Governors of New York care. Then, as those who aren't mentally ill know, W, Bush displayed himself as a, literal, cretin, a child of, arguably, the most heinous family in modern history. The present upcoming war with Russia is being provided, to a significant extent, by the insane policies towards Russia by George H.W. Bush, isolating and denying Russia it's rightful place in the world. Now. see the cynical, jokey alien, global corporatist hustler who took a wrecking ball to what remained of the pillars of the Democratic Party and the American and Western economies, because he was never a Democrat nor did he care about the American people, whatsoever, much like Hillary Clinton.

The only "human being" who sat in the White House since President Kennedy was President Jimmy Carter. Obama has never held one meeting with, Jimmy Carter, Carter being our greatest living President. Outside of President Carter, all subsequent presidents are no longer human. This fact is being illuminated on a daily basis and is why - with all his ignorance on many life and death environmental/energy issues - Donald Trump will win the election, because he appears to be an, actual, human being. Every day, thousands more citizens are beginning to sense this fact. Towards the end of October, millions of Independents and Democrats will feel they have to vote for Trump in a gamble to save the nation, itself, even if the environment burns because, like President Carter said, "At the moment, there is no representative government in the United States." Whatsoever.

The Clintons' in the US reminds one of a very privileged and powerful family in a banana republic.

BodieF • 7 years ago

Arkansas was very comparable to a banana republic, the Rose Law firm, where Hillary worked while doing a few hours worth of work for the Children's Defense Fund, was the corporate firm of choice for the ruling oligarchs of the state. Team Clinton and the presidency after 12 years of GOP rule were both primed for the politics of personal responsibility aka cuts to safety nets, austerity for the 99% and deregulation and a free for all for business and banks.

rharwell • 7 years ago

Over the weekend HRC was bragging about how wealthy they have become in 20 years and what a great country this is where that is possible. She stated they were able to accumulate more wealth than the Bush family over generations. (She was speaking about Trump being broke but dragged the Bush family into her comment).

I almost admire this crazy, arrogant, incompetent bi***. No one trusts her. She is a pathological liar (so is hubby and worse, a rapist and womanizer), a war criminal. One scandal after another has dogged both of them since their university days (and they only got worse and larger, not smaller indiscretions). One single speech to her corporate lovers and handlers would be income for one family for ten years (on the average) or longer ($250k to $500k) since the average working person makes less than $25k a year. Middle-class is now considered a living income at $100k so she makes in less than 60 minutes what it takes 2 1/2 years for them. And she's bragging about it. The American Dream come true! I don't recall anyone out there in politics who has been able to amass such wealth in such a short time with so much conflict of interest and brazen arrogance. That Foundation of hers is one massive money laundering scheme, a pay to play for all who want favors and for all the bragging about charity work, no one really knows where the money is going or not going. (All those millions donated for Haiti recovery are still unaccounted for and she and Slick Willy were in charge. Keep bragging Hillary. Let's hear some more about how wealthy you are.

I guarantee you that did not endear any progressive or liberal to her side. (Since that was said Friday night, no one to hear her words or MSM to make note), it's nowhere on any MSM site now. She did the same thing with her partial medical records and has stated that is all she's releasing (not 10 years or more as all have done in the past). That was done Saturday when she stated that was enough.

She's a mess. She has done this for months. Same with the debates against Sanders. Doing them when no one would be watching. Releasing negative information on Friday night when there's no coverage. It has been months since she held a news conference, a Q&A session--a real one. Too risky and she would fu** up like hubby, likes she always has. She just can't tell the truth. I guarantee if someone asked her the time, she would stumble, stall, double-speak, lie and then lie to cover up the lie.

Oh, and by the way, has anyone noticed how much plastic surgery Chelsea has had? Just asking. I still don't believe Slick Willy is her father. I also believe HRC is either Bi or lesbian. If HRC's reputation for a foul mouth is true (and too many have commented on that as well as her temper), Chelsea is just like her mother and perhaps even worse as employees leave the Foundation pretty quick as a result of her arrogance, demands, and rudeness. What a GD family that is.

From the Clinton Foundation balance sheet 2013/14:
Salaries and benefits - $95,887,139
Professional and consulting - $17,249,876
Conferences and events - $14,200,147
Travel - $20,786,529
Meetings and trainings - $13,519,824

Direct program expenditures - $33,692,599

The total expenditure came to $248,221,698

https://www.clintonfoundati...

Ignoring the fact that many of these entries are probably jigged and the "projects" are (in at least one case - see EKO project below) bogus covers for Clinton crony's investments, it seems it costs the Foundation about:
1. $8 to give away a buck.
2. Nearly as much for its operatives to travel as it gives away in benefits.

Interesting exercise to try and find some tangible achievements on the Clinton Foundation website:
https://www.clintonfoundati...
I have already shown the Clinton Foundation "coastal erosion" initiative for what it is below - a Dubai-type high rise, for profit property development.
Here are Foundation President Donna Shalala's* top 12 moments:
1) Getting My Start at CGI U 2015
(Attended a meeting)
2) Presidential Learnings for Current and Future Leaders
(attended a graduation)
3) Partners in Haiti’s Future
(Visited the Papillon enterprise which teaches Haitians how to make beads and pots out of recycled paper and clay like 60s hippies)
4) #Commit2Ten at the Office
(Initiative to introduce Yoga breaks at the office - obviously not the obese Shalala's thing)
5) Discussing What Works for Women in Tech
(Attended a panel discussion)
6) President Bill Clinton Behind-the-Scenes
(Watched Bubba hugging a man for a change)
7) My Favorite Message: Health Matters
(Chatting with U.S. women’s soccer star Abby Wambach on the Health Matters stage)
8) Boosting Home Ownership in Detroit
(Looks to me like a loan sharking enterprise)
9) Supporting Women in Island Energy
(another hot air talk fest)
10) Health Clinic Opens in Malawi
(Claiming credit for a Malawi Govt project)
11) Talking, Reading, and Singing in Miami and Beyond
(meeting parents where they are to encourage more talking, reading, and singing – in any language – with their babies - in partnership with the Coin Laundry Association!)
12) Continuing the Momentum, Together
(Another talk fest)

Goodness me. The World will be set to rights quick-smart with these daring initiatives!
Pardon me if you find this post rather scathing. To someone who, at nearly 70, sometimes walks miles in the tropic sun with a back-pack full of tools fixing houses while teaching locals the skills, the likes of these Clinton Foundation people represent everything wrong with the Aid Business - and it is a "Business".

‘WE JUST gave out 1,000 kites in 20 minutes,’’ a US aid contractor in Kabul recently reported. He claimed success, not because of what the kite-giving may or may not have achieved to strengthen friendship between Americans and Afghans, but simply because his mission was to toss kites to a crowd.
The same can be said for global foreign aid. The donor community has long relied on the amounts spent — a giving nation’s generosity — not on whether a recipient society benefited. As a result, studies show, the massive monies spent by the World Bank and European and American donors have brought about almost zero net growth in the developing world since 1960.

http://archive.boston.com/b...

*Shalala was implicated in the Countrywide financial political loan scandal having allegedly got multiple below-rate loans and opposed a living wage for custodial workers' at the University of Miami.

When the RIGHT WING has to attack a CHARITY FOR POLITICAL REASONS---that's a new low even for them. !!! When the attackers have NOTHING they can boast about accomplishing in recent times for the world or for this country they have to resort to creating scandals when there are none. Even at the cost of taxpayer's monies---Republicans
have wasted $2 trillion 408 billion 102 million dollars on two
wars, Benghazi, shutting down the Govt and trying to abolish the
ACA. LET"S HAVE THIS DISCUSSION MR. RUDER.....
What have republican presidents created after they left office to HELP people ---name ONE THING of any significance !!! . CAN"T !!

Does anyone know what happened to the relationship between Bill Clinton and Dr. Paul Farmer? My sense was that Clinton was using Farmer to legitimize his front in Haiti and that Farmer soon learned what a farce Clinton was and dropped out. Just my guess - does anyone really know?

teri • 7 years ago

Farmer seems to have severed any ties to the Clintons. Sean Penn's group, on the other hand, is now a Clinton donor. Sad; Penn had Dennis Kucinich's wife on his board and still fell for the Clinton BS.

The Help Haiti Fund has been a donor to the Clinton Foundation (CGI) since its inception, a fact which ought to be investigated. How can the public money donated to the Help Haiti Fund then be "donated" to the slush pile of the Clintons, instead of going to the Haitians? The Haitians would like to know as well; they have been protesting the Clintons in Haiti - and there was also a group at the Democratic Convention - for interfering in their elections and asking where the $2bb Help Haiti money went.

Marko • 7 years ago

Trump could put together a damned effective campaign ad by just filming a handful of typical Haitians offering their opinions of the Clintons. I'd bet that even the average man on the street there knows that the Clintons are toxic with their "charity".

Look at the Clinton foundation website and see if you can make sense of what exactly the charity is doing to help people in this country or in any other.
The charity navigator removed them from the list of charitable organizations because they state that the Clintons don't use their money for charity, but for travel, hotels and their lifestyles.
They give 10% of the contributions to charity and the rest goes to influence peddling.

teri • 7 years ago

Well, since all the Clintons make large salaries , as in millions per year each, as the directors, one might note that as a personal benefit.

paulvand • 7 years ago

Teri - Yours was the best reply I received. And thanks to WakingUp, too. It could also be said that the satisfaction of raising more money for charity is a benefit to the Clintons. The fact that they are willing to sell political influence for whatever benefit they are receiving through the Foundation says volumes about how casually they view the process of corruption. I miss Bernie... Boy, did we miss an opportunity there.

WakingUp • 7 years ago

According to the NY Post, the Clintons aren't on the payroll, but they do fly first class courtesy of the foundation (sounds like a cushy way to simultaneously solicit campaign contributions). And their friends have fat jobs there, of course.
As if the foundation pay-for-play isn't bad enough, let's add in the speaking fees the Clintons personally collect (their net worth is about $100M now). And we're all supposed to think it's a coincidence that donors/customers get special favors? It's mind-boggling as to why those two haven't been ejected from the country.
