Urge. To get. Vita. Rising.

Darren Nakamura • 9 years ago

The urge to Verge.

kevlarmonkey • 9 years ago

I'm on the verge of urge

Jinx 01 • 9 years ago

It's funny, Sony made the Vita because they wanted to give you a portable "AAA" experience. I could care less about that crap, though. I first started getting interested in one when I heard it was getting a Rogue Legacy port haha

kevlarmonkey • 9 years ago

ugh! right? I looked into pstv, because its significantly cheaper, but it won't play half the games I want...

Solar Pony Django • 9 years ago

I just want it for all the indie games... That and Persona.

kevlarmonkey • 9 years ago

I want it for games with big "plots" that aren't coming out on 3ds, also indys

CelicaCrazed • 9 years ago

I got mine for all the portable shooter possibilities (ha ha ugh), ended up being pleasantly surprised with all the indie games. Was worth it alone just for Spelunky to me.
Also Valkyria Chronicles 2 & Patapon 2. Gotta give the PSP-compatibility some love.

Jesse Johnson • 9 years ago

Spelunky and binding of isaac are my 2 most played games ever. My vita is on more than any other system I own.

islan • 9 years ago

I would tell people to try Cytus Lambda, but PS Mobile is getting taken away :/

extatix • 9 years ago

Mine got a lot of love for Hotline Miami.

DrNoided • 9 years ago

lol. I got mine as basically a dedicated Persona machine, but gravity rush is hella fun.
Haven't bought any indie games on it, though. I'm a pc guy through and through so I don't really see the point in not just getting this on PC.

Solar Pony Django • 9 years ago

Portability is the appeal to me.

ProtoRUSH • 9 years ago

Get a Playstation TV. A lot cheaper.

extatix • 9 years ago

If you get one, think about adding trigger grips as well. It makes gaming for hours way more comfortable, imho.

CharlieWhistle • 9 years ago

I have one that I pieced together from two brown ones. Only thing is the screen has a weird smudge on it and the buttons feel sticky. Like, they're not smooth. Or I'm just picky abd I don't like clicky buttons. But I haven't played it in forever even though I have Persona and Gravity Rush (unfortunately not the physical copies). Let me know if you're interested in it brutha! I'd rather send it to a DTOIDer than some ebayer.

Broken, not brown. Obviously?

Ninezero • 9 years ago

Do it and join us forgotten sons in our journey.

AriesWarlock • 9 years ago

DO. IT.

Thaliard • 9 years ago

That's not the only thing rising!

Occams • 9 years ago

Axiom is a fun word. Being on the verge of an axiom. Wow. That must feel amazing. Like seeing the ocean for the first time.

Dr Mel • 9 years ago

Axiom Verge literally means to be on the thin extremity of worthy thought, the edge of sanity.

Now, that could mean you're either on the precipice going toward sanity and worthy discovery or away from it. I like to think you don't know which it is until you've already gotten there.

Occams • 9 years ago

That's a beautiful, amazingly poetic thought.

shlevai • 9 years ago

Yeah, seeing the ocean for the first time, looking out and seeing all that water.

..and then realising that's just the top of it.

Occams • 9 years ago

I remember thinking it was the beginning of another world, one that I could not even begin to fathom. Also, it always fucks with me that the water in the ocean is the same water that was there millions of years ago.

PhilKenSebben • 9 years ago

I never thought about that. You just gave me a case of the Keanus.

Zer0t0nin • 9 years ago

The water is millions of years old and we are all made of the remains of stars long since dead....I hope you'e not on shrooms while reading this.

PhilKenSebben • 9 years ago

Been so long since I did those. Used to love shrooms and acid. Then I became an adult. Boo.

Zer0t0nin • 9 years ago

Same here. No acid but shrooms? Heck Yeah. A non-addictive field trip to your subconscious.

mix • 9 years ago

We've been to other planets but don't even know our own oceans.

Shit is scary.

Occams • 9 years ago

Delightful and terrifying.

shlevai • 9 years ago

Then you realise that earth is really more of an ocean world than anything. What we see on land is amazing, but whats in the ocean is just absurd. We have mapped pretty much everything above sea level, but haven't really even begun to scratch the surface of whats in the oceans.

Quite the eye opener, makes you think that just because we've dominated everything above the water level, there are wanders below that we're pretty much destroying.

Occams • 9 years ago

A buffet of words to consume and digest. Thank you for that.

Rico the Penguin • 9 years ago

Carbon atoms from dinosaurs are in your very body right now.

edit: The oceans leading to other worlds is actually the basis for my fantasy novels.

The oceans are as dangerous as space itself (even to birds) so everyone thinks their island is the only land there is.

With the oceans leading on infinitely filled with nothing but darkness and the bane of life.

PhilKenSebben • 9 years ago

It's almost like the ocean is Lindsay Lohans vagina.

Occams • 9 years ago

Well that is fucking awesome.

randombullseye • 9 years ago

Really crazy that Conrad Zimmerman is back, glad I stopped by to see the review for this one!

Rico the Penguin • 9 years ago

Conrad should photoshop his moustache into all the headlines for his reviews.

For me? Come on.

Cannibal Steven • 9 years ago
Lucien Dark • 9 years ago

Come oooooon PC release...

Cannibal Steven • 9 years ago

The anxiety I feel waiting for the PC release date announcement is easily equal to the tension the last man on earth felt in The Twilight Zone episode "Where Is Everybody?" also I like ice cream and the fishes.

Patrick Hancock • 9 years ago
Cannibal Steven • 9 years ago

Vague asshole. How dare he not give a specific date, and hour, and minute, and second, and millisecond of the PC release?!

Lucien Dark • 9 years ago

Yay, thanks!

emayer • 9 years ago

When is this coming out for PC? Have they announced a date yet?

Nus Strife • 9 years ago

June..

ChillyBilly • 9 years ago

Ugh... wanna play this super, super bad. But would rather wait for a PC release.

I'll see how long I can hold out, before I cave to the PSN...

Morty • 9 years ago

Mmmmh, trailer makes it look more action-y than I would have liked. I love how contemplative Super Metroid is most of the time.

Jinx 01 • 9 years ago

Based on the reviews I've read it really isn't as "actiony" as the trailer suggests. Even just looking at the raw gameplay (vs how it's sort of "presented") I don't think it's much beyond Super Metroid.

Morty • 9 years ago

Good to hear, will keep an eye out for this then. The soundtrack is pretty awesome already.

shlevai • 9 years ago

I'm with you. Super Metroid had a very methodical approach to most areas. You went in, explored, admired the scenery and so on, and started checking for secrets. Unless I was the only one who went room by room in Super Metroid looking for secrets... o_O

oh and the music in Super Metroid always just felt right. No matter where you were or what you were doing.

Definitely looking forward to playing through Axiom Verge, I've tried to sate my metroid-vania cravings for so many years..
