Garvey would distance himself from us. And rightfully so! We haven't learnt a ting!

We've learned that smoking weed, buss gun, bruck out, shell dung di dance and gallang bad behaviour is more important than to read, understand and treat each other with respect.

Garvey would be surprised that Institute of Jamaica has not digitized and archived all the printed materials in it's possession and made them available on the internet for anyone who is interesting in accessing the same. I would like to read more about Jamaican history but only find the elementary stuff.

Unlike most I am not convinced that expunging the 'criminal' record of the three national heroes and petitioning the US government to pardon Marcus Garvey makes any sense. All are long dead and their conviction and Imprisonment cannot be reversed neither can the history of their lives. If for example Marcus Garvey is pardoned will we revise history by expunging his US incarceration from our history books and from lectures about the man. Why attempt to sanitize his life or that of Paul Bogle and William Gordon, isn't it the sacrifice and suffering they experienced in their struggles which makes them our heroes.
