Love the new video feature and especially that it's 30 Seconds vs. 15. Hoping the editing gets some more features but its definitely a huge improvement. Have been using it currently to answer some replies and last week our Startup had a huge celebration and we used the video feature to catch the moment. It definitely got some great Retweets, replies and engagement. Great post Sarah!

Hey Mike. Thanks for reading! I think it's great for replies, so much more engaging. I was actually just thinking today that Twitter has really improved their features on a whole.

Mike Kawula • 9 years ago

They definitely have. I love how you can now hit the Search and see not only the hashtag of what's trending but also the explanation of what it is. The user experience continues to truly improve.

Would the same apply to FB?

Sarah Quinn • 9 years ago

The video feature on Facebook is fairly different, longer length etc. But the tips would still apply!

Nice post, Sarah. I agree with some of the points you raised. Responding, promoting, and educating are three of the most important maximizations of apps like these. Good work. :)

Thanks for reading and appreciating :)

Nice post.

I'm getting more involved with video and will test uploading videos via Twitter. I like the idea of responding to tweets with a video instead of text. Thanks for the tip!

Sarah Quinn • 9 years ago

Yeah definitely,it's so much more personal. Thanks for reading!

Great article! Thoughts from all on using the "in tweet" Twitter video feature versus driving traffic via Twitter-owned Periscope, for example?

Sarah Quinn • 9 years ago

Hey thanks! Do you mean using an agency to help?

EPiC_Isha ღ♔ღ • 8 years ago

No, I don't mean using an agency to help. I mean using Twitter's video features and also Periscope engagement to drive traffic.

Hi Sarah,

I really enjoyed of your blog and thanks for sharing this
kind knowledge. Now can you let me know ‘ How to upload a video in Twitter via Desktop’?

Sarah Quinn • 9 years ago

Hey Vikas. Thanks for your comment, as far as I'm aware, you can only upload via videos on your iPhone, but I think Twitter is continuing to roll out more features across every device. So I guess we need to watch this space!

How does Twitter video reside with Periscope video? is the difference that Twitter video can be edited before posting while periscope is more "live action"?

Sarah Quinn • 9 years ago

Yes I think so, and it's also only available on iOS, which limits other users.

Hugh Culver • 9 years ago

Very cool! I'm off to go test it out.

Great post! I'm having trouble figuring out how to upload videos to Twitter? I can't seem to see the functionality on my computer at all - only the ability to upload a photo?

Sarah Quinn • 9 years ago

Hey thanks! You must do it via the app on your smartphone.

Koertah • 8 years ago

Thanks for the post Sarah. Learnt from it

Sarah Quinn • 8 years ago

Really glad you enjoyed it :)

Great article as well. Keep seeing the question about uploading from desktop. MLB, WhiteHouse, Tide and others referenced here all doing it, unless they're pulling from cloud storage and uploading by mobile. Will be excited to learn how this happens. Also I'm an Android user and have yet to see where I can upload video rather than capture it.

A lot of things left unclear, we'll just have to wait and see. The new feature is great, hope they'll optimize it for different platforms and devices.
