Answering (or even asking a question) on Quora is a very great way to solidify your brand. It's a great opportunity to let everyone know that your brand is knowledgeable of certain industries, making your trustworthiness "points" go up. From an SEO standpoint, this can also help. It gives you a great chance to scatter your links---just try not to be spammy.

i would think about traffic those links more so than about SEO value of those (I believe they are all nofollow). I've seen very good traffic from Quora which is nice!

Great tips Ann. How how many websites do you write for on a daily basis? I recently started using Quora, but am already seeing traffic from the site itself. It's a great resource that is quickly becoming part of my daily blogging life.

Ann Smarty • 9 years ago

Yep, its traffic is highly targeted too! I am seeing that too! A very valuable asset!

Like I said I'm a newbie to Quora, but I'm finding this is a great resource for information as well as traffic already. I've noticed my on page time has gone up. Maybe engaging like minded niche followers has pays off. #sarcasm

Quora is an excellent place to source quality input regarding solutions and business strategy. No doubt it is also one of the best sites for identifying who actually knows what they're writing about.

Ann Smarty • 9 years ago

True! It's a great network for connecting to experts!

Great topic Ann, I have also been using Quora for sometime, just want to ask a question from you. I have observed some links on Quora get a do-follow attribute on default while most of them are usually no-follow ones. Is there any particular reason behind this link thing?

Ann Smarty • 9 years ago

I've noticed that too.. Not sure if there is any rule.. It's probably random to prevent the abuse

Great tips!
Quora is an amazing tool. The best part is the "brainstorming" part: if you gather enough influence around your profile, and enough credits, with a proper placement of your question, you can find & get so many great ideas and perspectives.

The quality of advice you get there is amazing.

I also love the fact that they actually do surveys and ask users their opinion and feedback. A huge plus for a platform with active users.

Ann Smarty • 9 years ago

Yes, I agree. Quora is a great example of user-focused brand! I've been watching them for ages! They never cease to get feedback, test new features and talk to their users!

Looking forward to going through this is more detail! So far I've actually been disappointed with the vagueness of many of the questions I've seen posted in Quora. But will give it another go based on the info and comments from your post.
