It gets better. Apparently no logs are kept of admin actions and changes they may have made. It's impossible to know if a post, or posts have been changed by one or more admins. Absolutely _nothing_ on reddit is trustable as evidence of anything. At the same time Reddit employees are very likely to have acted as content providers numerous times.

This is a complete shitshow, and I hope reddit gets sued into oblivion.

Having spent some time messing with the OSS version of the Reddit software, I can say it's a complete b@astard to work with and to administer. They don't even have official releases, so stuff breaks all the time and you 'upgrade' at your peril.

I am not at all surprised by the suggestion that nothing is logged. It's difficult enough to get the IP address of a given poster.

However, I can tell you that, by and large, nothing ever actually gets deleted from reddit. Instead, it's much easier to set a flag in the database than it is to resolve all the broken references that would result from actual deletion of database records.

So if you're going to subpoena Reddit, specifically ask for a dump of their databases. Depending what you're after, probably just the Postgres DB is sufficient. There's another called Cassandra, but I think all the content proper is in the former.

That all said, edits probably replace content, so subpoena of the raw SQL would probably not help in this case.

He's just changed it to a private sub - but there are screen shots of it before it went dark. Add to that, Reddit has banned #Pizzagate that is trying to find out the truth about possible Child Molestation and Slavery - but allows #Pedofriends to exist still - a happy hangout for #Pedofiles - WTF? I MEAN WTF?
