Great, you cover almost all the tools. You can also try ismysitefastenough(dot)com which compares your site performance with your competitors.

The content of this post is great, but the title is misleading: none of these tools monitor your page's speed. They only check it on demand. You can't set p a performance monitor to alert you when your website loads slowly, like Site24x7 or Uptrends enable you to (those tools aren't free, by the way).

i've spent many hours trying to improve my google page speed scores. I had wordpress so i tried all those free plugins and nothing seemed to work.

Not sure what you mean by strict but it does give accurate results just as any other page speed testing tool.

Awesome list. I use GtMetrix for aiding in site speed optimization. Speed is critical. Everyone likes things fast. Why the wait? Speed optimizing any website will give it an extra edge over its competition and a boost in rankings. I always implement speed optimization to all my clients regardless if they pay for it or not. Speed optimizing a website should be essential but not all web developers are implementing such practice.
