I'd only accept the apology if the article writer was sacked.
Not for making a mistake but for lying about being an uncharted veteran!
It's bad enough misleading people with a mistake, even worse with a lie.
Why stop there? Why not call for their beheading??
Yes, I agree. There is basically no diference between firing an unprofessional writer and literally cutting his head off and killing him.
Might as well smite their first-born too whilst we're at it.
Perhaps the writer is from a country that practices sharia law, maybe stoning isn't out of the question.
Meh, being transparently incompetent and dishonest only merits being fired from the publication that you used to be transparently incompetent and dishonest. Beheading is too far.
Is beheading allowed? can we behead him/her/not quite sure then?
Beheading? Not enough!! Hanged, drawn, and quartered is the only fitting punishment!
Ok Mr. Slippery slope.
As I said to Hoppsy...
This "oversight" is definitely worthy of firing those responsible.
Given what passes for news these days if completely misrepresenting
something doesn't warrant being dismissed there are no ethics in the
game news community.
The editor should fire them publicly as to salvage what little credibility they have left. That writer should not work as a games news writer anywhere ever again. If you can't tell which game you are playing for a preview you shouldn't be writing for any game news outlet.
How this sort of thing could happen to anyone who demonstrates any expertise in the game business is beyond me. I used to write for gaming websites and I would have quit in shame if I was caught pulling something like this.
From what I recall, expulsion of videogame journalists seems to occur mostly when they've rocked a boat that upsets what goes on behind closed doors. Offending advertisers. Publicly asking questions about relationships between writers and publishers. That sort of thing.
Totally agree...
Agree 100%. This guy even called himself a "Uncharted Veteran". This websites credibility is now down the drain. Keeping fake wanna be pretend "gamers" in the industry like this is poisioning for the community. There are 1000s of people out there that are much more authentic and qualified to fill his shoes
This right here, anybody can make a mistake. But we're talking about someone who lied about a franchise he clearly didn't know, didn't know which game in said franchise he was playing and then go on to write a news piece criticizing said game when he hadn't even been playing it.
Brilliant! Made me laugh out loud, well done! :)
Vasectomy.
true. if no difference is apparent it is a bad job from Naughty Dog for bringing the same game every couple years.
Except each game has been different from the last so yeaahhhh
The last Uncharted came out more than 4 years ago, it'll be half a decade by the time the next one comes out.
If you're gonna troll atleast put some effort into it(unlike whoever wrote that hitpiece) but I guess you name says it all.
Nah, I think he nailed it fine.
SteveKyle JacksonPCMR Truth™ #BlockMeIWin
Given you are apart of the PC Caliphate PR wing, I won't even bother asking if you played the games. So let's cut to the chase and be honest, you guys didn't play them.
Guess what? Your opinions mean JackSh!t to those of us WHO did play the games. It also means JackSh!t to the developers of your PC games who have piled HEAPS of praise on Naughty Dog for their consistency in quality.
We get it -- you didn't care for the games. It doesn't sound like any of you have an educated opinion on it and you are just regurgitating what butt-hurt Xbox 360 players were saying when the games were released.
So not only do you fail in your trolling you are emulating lowly X360 (eww last generation) gamers!!! How un-becoming of the PC Caliphate Master Race!
I didn't read a word of it.
I could try to re-type it in a manner befitting of your reading and intelligence level.
Claiming ignorance is an acceptable form of surrender in this debate. If that is the case I do accept your surrender and I appreciate you not responding in a manner that only embarrasses you more. :)
Have a good day Kyle!
tl dr
I said before I accept your surrender. Given that you don't have the intellectual aptitude to even read what I have said I think it's safe to say you wouldn't be able to respond.
So save yourself some more embarrassment and just walk away quietly.
You seem to be having some sort of inner turmoil, I'll leave both alone.
Just like nobody takes your uneducated opinion about a game series you've never played seriously
I had a cousin called Kevin, he was a nosey prick too.
You know, you can just say "jackshit/ jack shit". Also, there's no need for capitalization there.
Other than that, I pretty much agree.
Dude, you can do better than that. You're not even trying
Do you wake up this stupid, or is it just a morning process?
That is such a loaded fucking picture. Compare all three Metroid Primes, Zelda Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, Mario Galaxies 1 and 2. Hell all the recent Marios play relatively the same. They just fuck around with environments.
Like all three of these Sony franchises can screw with their formulas that much. You're not gonna see a damn toon shaded Drake flipping around on planets.
yeah that was cherry picking
That "Uncharted 2" pic is uncharted 1 again. And I don't know where the u3 pic is from put it looks like it's a compressed image.
I guess you're not familiar with how sequels in franchises typically work. Be sure to take a shower once you dislodge your head from your bum as you wouldn't want to kill someone from the stink.
The "Uncharted 2" pic is actually from Uncharted 2.
not u4(
That doesnt change that for Uncharted fanbase nintendo games are all the same)
So you are suggesting as a PC gamer all PC game developers always create brand new IPs that never ever visit the same locations?
You do realize those games that you point to all have areas that are built in to the story. You didn't play Killzone without visiting Vecta. You aren't playing Gran Turismo if they don't have all the world wide tracks. You aren't playing Zelda if you aren't in Hyrule.
This image only demonstrates your robust ignorance.
Here is a list of PC game series that likely depend on some common locations and similar game mechanics.
Age of Empires
Baldur's Gate
Civilizxation -- aren't they up to 5 or 6 now? Can't these guys come up with any new ideas?
Command & Conquer
Counterstrike
Delta Force
Doom
ElderScrolls -- got it's start on PC.
Eye of the Beholder
Gothic
Half Life
Hears of Iron
Homeworld
King Aurthur
Leisure Suit Larry
Might and Magic
Neverwinter Nights
Opertation Flashpoint
Portal
Quake
Railroad Tycoon
Rise of Nations
Silent Hunter
SimCity
The Sims
Team Fortress
Torchlight
Tribes
Unreal Tournament
Warcraft
Zoo Tycoon
Isn't Star Citizen basically Wing Commander on roids? :) Why do all those Sci-Fi PC games depend so much on space as a backdrop? They must not be very creative and they must be churning out the same game over and over again. :) :) :) :) :)
Look I am not saying these games are bad, but reusing locations and game play mechanism is built in to making a sequel.
It would be supremely dumb for Uncharted 4 to take place in space and be a turn based RPG.
It is duly noted by me and anyone reading this thread that you have neglected to respond to my points. That means I win this debate round. :) By default you lose via forfeit.
Now that you are frustrated that you can't match my wits you are attempting to get an emotional response from me with ad hominem attacks. The only issue here is I don't care what you think. I don't care about you. :)
As a matter of fact let me clue you in to something. Your mother was wrong -- you are not a special little butterfly.
Oh my a PC Caliphate asshat presents me with a meme! How original! :)
Did your mommy help you with that?
It's getting close to your bed time Junior. Don't you have school tomorrow? You must be getting grumpy because you need changing!
EDIT -- If you want to continue this diatribe with me, why don't you meet me for coffee and we can discuss your manners? Would I need to call your mommy for a play date first? :) LOL
I'm a PC/PS4 (because exclusives and it's fun) player and what was the point of showing that screen of purchasable aesthetics? That's no different from buying hats on TF2 or buying skins on CS:GO, What's your point? Also your point about rehashed games only on console is complete bullshit mate, stop being an entitled piece of shit, every console cops shitty rehash games all the time. PC masterrace don't argue that Console is low tier because of of rehashed games, we say they are low tier because of the Options/Affordability/Accessibility/Hardware we have on the PC, hell the biggest points about getting a PC is because we get access to old games (emulators etc.) So don't bring up this arguement. And stop being an asshat to this guy, he wasn't really doing any harm, just sharing an opinion about the games we have on PC, he didn't seem prejudice in anyway. You're making the PC Community look like shitheads. Please fuck off mate
No crying here buddy. I am just sick of the stupid rhetoric that you PC Caliphate asshats always rattle on about.
You guys say the same old crap all the time. You think repetition makes something true. It is so cute the way you guys always position your opinions as fact. We were all kids once so we understand, but most of us have grown up. Maybe one day you can graduate to big boy pants like the rest of us and your mommy won't have to put you in diapers any more!
If you're going to take the "educated pedantic high road bullshit" approach to a "debate" (see screaming match with you and no one in particular). At least don't do the exact things you're accusing others of doing.
Also, just because you learned a new word in your poli-sci class doesn't mean you have to shoehorn it into every message you send.
Enjoy your imaginary debate points you keep awarding yourself.
I bet you don't even have a PC! Shit head! Get off your ass and go find a job, you low life!
Apology accepted Matt :)
