You can think what you want. I can guarantee you that what happened here with the U.S. Presidential delegation on Chinese soil was no accident. No other leader there experienced the same 'issue' that the U.S. Presidential delegation experienced.

The American/Chinese relationship is testy at best. Look for ties to sour further from here unless the next U.S. Presidential administration makes it a priority to do some fence mending with China. China may not be interested in that either....

Currently, the U.S. and China are competing business partners. Long term, China's goal is to overtake us and be #1. Considering they have a plan to do that, whereas we do not have a plan on how to stay #1, I don't doubt they'll reach their goal at some point in the future. I am sincerely hoping that you aren't surprised at this notion. It's reality.

The only thing that China's interested in is themselves and world domination through intimidating their neighbors and threatening military action. Why else would they build a world-class Navy, except to take over the entire Pacific Ocean west of Hawaii?

By whom? When you say this, doesn't it depend on who the so-called "aggressor" is? We're accused of aggression, yet whose land have we conquered? If I recall correctly, we helped to expel the Imperial Japanese Army from most of China, and destroyed their Navy. The only troops that we left on Chinese soil were the Marines assigned to our embassy, as in other countries where we have an embassy......Benghazi being a notable exception these days.

Nations are the next step beyond tribalism in the progress of civilization. It happened in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe. It happened in Australia also. Have you even given that a thought?

China has over four times the population of the U.S. They don't need a plan to have a bigger economy. It will get there all on its own with normal growth rates. Per capita GDP would be a more accurate measurement. They still have a very long way to go.

kfromaz • 7 years ago

Not very long at all, the way that this administration & the Dem(wits) are going!

CoolJoe • 7 years ago

They also are spending heavily on their military .... at a far greater rate than before. I didn't say they were going to invade us tomorrow, to be clear. I said... they have a plan. We don't. That's not good.

Peace • 7 years ago

US spending heavily on its military ... far greater than the other five largest military in the world. US has a plan. China and Russia does not know US plan. That's not good because in the last 80 years US had destroyed many countries in Middle East, South America and Africa.

Kenneth Jones • 7 years ago

South America? Which country? Africa? Which country? These countries are still there, and they're governing themselves.

Bully, you say? Look, ssshole you are pointing your finger in the wrong direction. You should first look at where most of your fingers are pointing - hint your other three fingers.

And China doesn't need to mend any fences. It is America who should not only be mending fences; she should mend the lives of the thousands of innocent lives she has destroyed under her flag of "America's democracy, peace and freedom".

As for shabby treatment, maybe it is time America be treated to reality. Isn't America who brags constantly about equality and that the US has no "royalty"?

Yet she struts at every turn like the "King" with her media forever gushing about the "Whitehouse Camelot"! To the extent even her soccer goalie, they touted as the "the best goalkeeper in the world" accuses the Swedes of being cowards - all because she cannot brag about a soccer "gold medal" in Rio.

This from an america who demand exceptionalism while belittling anyone who defy her and taking unilateral actions like Caesar if things doesn't go her way.

Agreed. Their current location is just hereditary. Now, the new thing as you probably are aware, are inversions. It's a race to the bottom for the average American.

China will interpret "fence mending" as weakness. They have for thousands of years.

CoolJoe • 7 years ago

I don't disagree with that assessment.

Kenneth Jones • 7 years ago

Cool Joe and Just Sayin', I agree with both of you.

Both are unsustainable, egoistic destroyers of earth. It's like two bone-headed siblings, too similar to get along. Well the clock is ticking for both gluttons.

Remember this is Asia where a "loss of face" is significant.
The Chinese are showing the other nations on the Pacific Rim that the US is not an ally that they can rely upon for their defense if they choose to oppose China's interests.

Obama canceled his first meeting with Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte after Duterte described Obama as a "s.o.b.".

Actually, the Filipino President did not use initials, I'm just self censoring.

Well, people are sick and tired of the "Emperor of Hypocrisy" strutting all over the world lecturing them.

And no better validation of this fact then America's very own "colony" calling her "putang ina"?

The fact is there is just so much hypocrisy, bullying, lies and arrogance the world can take. Then for self-righteous people who think their scht doesn't stink; aided and egg on by their pompous, trouble making press - maybe "son of a btch" is the only language they understand

Mikal Gastpipe • 7 years ago

S.O.B., was NOT what Duterte said...he actually said "son of a WH**E!"

Guest • 7 years ago

From what I've read it is more accurately translated as "son of a wh0re". But either way I doubt Duterte will ever have to worry about making the list of Great Statesmen of Asia. ;-)

roger mullins • 7 years ago

On what Duterte said........... The truth will stand when the worlds on fire, if you are smart enough to catch my drift. Time to get the dems out of power and get back to basics. Just because Dems are politicly correct doesnt make it right. Even though Trump isnt always the best at getting his point across Im still voting for him. Oh and one more thing the "Basics" I mentioned is the pure and simple fact that the majority of americans are fed up with the LBTGPAPGA and BLM agendas. None of of this crap matters, but to a Democratic SLIMEBALL tryin to win the election.

Gee Golly Im afraid I did know what the conversation was about and I may be deplorable.

Kenneth Jones • 7 years ago

Very true. Unlike most of the people whom I know, I am an amateur historian.....my area of interest being military history. It is an unfortunate thing that so few in this nation's teaching profession don't believe in teaching history without trying to rewrite it. I am doing something about that. Part of my office library contains books and papers dealing with ancient and modern history, including books on the Revolutionary War, French and Indian War, the Quasi War with France, the Mexican-American War, the Civil War, and every war since then in which our country's fought. I am aware that other countries are ahead of us in ensuring that their citizens are better educated in history. We need to learn, because if we don't, we risk repeating those mistakes, and we can't afford that. We Americans don't want war, and we don't want any nation's territory, but the problem is the Chinese government is twisting the situation and trying to convince the other nations in the area that we do, and that we can't be trusted to come to their aid, should anyone attack them. Again, a study of history proves that we honor the committments that we make to our allies.....all of them. I see China attempting to drive a wedge between us, and we have to make sure that they don't succeed in doing so.

I majored in History in college, and have tutored in that subject. It's amazing that the books that I have in my library.....and there are many.....won't be found in our classrooms because they're not revisionist books. Our schools don't have them because the teachers' union and the school district are complicit in the state's conspiracy to keep real History instruction out of the classroom.

kuasimi • 7 years ago

He has too. No choice unless with their media they can can come up with some spin to explain away "putang ina" is just a Filipino expression of love, tenderness, appreciation and fondness.

But you never know about America and her "free, fair and objective press." They are masters of selling lies as realities and turning obscenities into Sunday Gospel. They'll even try sell you a beachfront property with an ocean view in Arizona.

Oh, don't you aware that US is the one that started it ? When the previous President Hu was at the White House garden giving speech, half way through his speech the US government allowed a so call protestor to shout here and there. Please reflect on what your officials had done in the past. US officials had acted rudely to many officials in other countries. This is a well known facts in most countries. They must done these many times to the Chinese.
