If Burflict had simply said no comments to whatever was asked of him and let his play on the field answer any questions, that would have been the right way to go.

However, he did not. Therefore, by his actions (spoken word) if a player is injured by him in the next game, it's like putting a bullseye on your back for the NFL. Goodell will have to at least consider the fact that he has intent beyond just wanting to win or lose. He must learn this is a sport after all. I brutal sport to be sure, but not at life and death Roman gladiator arena endeavor.

Many players have come and gone and he is not the only player who plays this game.

His continued disdain for other teams bordering on idiocy persona may very well have him losing out on the one thing he wants above all.

And that is fruitful NFL career.

Possibly he is looking to have other players on his team adopting the same stance he has. I see Jones already has. The next time he does something questionable (fights, late hits, dirty play) he may very well lose that opportunity.
