great write-up. I'm going to check your photos now. Sounds like everyone had a great time! I'm sorry I missed it this year. (we're building a house and I have a 3 month old, so family time won over business/fun!)

Chick-Fil-A is a must-visit for you NY'ers and yes, you need to hit it on Friday or Saturday instead. If next year is at Dulles, I'll recommend the best restaurant in VA, hands-down: Sweet Water Tavern, not too far from the Expo Center.

Hope to see you soon, although I'll see you on Twitter (@brickworkz) in a few seconds!

Play well,
-Brian

Are you building the house out of Lego like James May?

There's always next year for Chic-Fil-A. The only sit down restaurant we went to was the Backyard Grill on the way out Sunday night. There were about 16 of us who went there.

It was a pleasure meeting you, although as one of the "hordes of public attendees," I am sure you do not remember me. Hint: I am the BriteKite to your Foursquare.

I posted my experience with my first BrickFair here:

which includes a shout out to you as well as my pictures. To summarize, I was extremely impressed with the attitudes of people like you. I know that standing behind a table while thousands march by asking a host of questions is not easy. But you and your fellow AFOL's pulled it off with grace, humor, and an excellent attitude. Reading this, for the "Behind-The-Scenes" view was great. Thanks for sharing.

Of course I remember meeting you. I called you Old School when you said you still used BrightKite.

Thanks for sharing your perspective as well. It's good to see what it's like on the other side of the table and good to know that public attendees enjoyed it as well.
