This was always a case of: If it ain't broke don't fix it. Even if the branding was indistinct the logo(s) was great. Certainly for a museum logo which are generally terrible (look at the 'CoralDraw lesson 3' Stedelijk Museum logo in Amsterdam for instance). All that was required with Tate was to get everything in line and heading in the same direction. Fortunately that's what seems to have happened.
