Dredd 2 in development, says Urban

http://movieweb.com/dredd-2...

Read about it on AICN next week if they really scramble!

Deadite • 7 years ago

yeah and True Lies 2 is still in development according to Tom Arnold as well.

B3taBlocker • 7 years ago

That's some cool news! Wooooooo!

Mad Max: Fury Road sequel in development, say the fanboys.

Still waiting on that one.

Deadite • 7 years ago

hehehe, oh you.

Ash Nazg • 7 years ago

If they do make a sequel to Fury Road (as opposed to simply another Mad Max movie), I sure hope Max is in it. And does cool stuff. I enjoyed the movie but it was the Mad Max equivalent of Gareth Edwards' Godzilla. The title character barely made any worthwhile appearance and IMO essentially had one cool scene (which took place off camera).

Agreed. I was being sarcastic. There won't be a sequel to Fury Road.

cant be done. the world of Dredd needs a big budget to be realized properly.

Also needs filmmakers with the balls to explore the satirical and social commentary aspects of the Dredd comics, instead of adapting them as merely one-note, ultra-violent action movies.

Deadite • 7 years ago

I am surprised the Dredd movie gets so much praise from the fans for being a faithful adaptation of the comics when it severely lacks their satirical aspect. Even the Slyfest Dredd movie had more satire in it.

Stallone's Dredd was also visually truer to the comics, with Mega-City One depicted as a tacky, sleazy, neon-drenched metropolis. The city was too bland, clean and generic in the newer movie. It could have been imported wholesale from any mid-budget sci-fi movie of recent years.

Deadite • 7 years ago

well, it was supposed to take place when they were building MC1, it didnt have the final look in the comics. they used that time period because they didn have the budget to fully realize MC1. but even with a budget of 50m and most of the story taken place inside a building, the movie still looked like a cheap DTV scifi.

so there is still hope for Warcraft...

“We were only ever planning and we are only doing just 'Justice League.' One movie.”

"So, why does the Warner Bros. website still have “Justice League Part Two” slated for June 14, 2019?"

"That's a typo."

DC is quickly becoming the Spinal Tap of comic movie franchises.

Zack Snyder: "You know what I want you to do? Will you do something for me? Do me a favor. Just kick my ass, okay? Kick this ass for a man, that's all. Kick my ass. Enjoy. Come on. I'm not asking, I'm telling with this. Kick my ass."
Warner Brothers: "No problem."

We have always been at war with Eastasia.

Even the logo has no color.

Dark Cider the Talkback • 7 years ago

And dark, dark grey.

Guest • 7 years ago

Justice league will be grey logo.

Injustice will have black logo.

They are doubling down, and there will be two Justice league movies. But the name of the second just won't have "league" in it.

BUT IF WONDER WOMAN BOMBS, then we might see a new Batman movie take they second slot for Injustice.

PoopyPants • 7 years ago

Why so confused? You know they're just making them up as they go. Keep the mojito's coming.

porcupinetears • 7 years ago

I think the whole mojito thing is going to become a meme.

PoopyPants • 7 years ago

Are there more mojito jokes? Excellent I thought I was the first.

JeffMc2000 • 7 years ago

It definitely means that Warners is cutting Snyder loose after the first movie. anyone who thinks they're not making another one is crazy. Deborah Snyder's unclear response seemed like a bit of sour grapes, and that she wasn't even going to mention the potential for another movie they're not involved with.

Hugh Sackman • 7 years ago

I bet you they offer Whedon a buttload of money to reboot. He is a free agent now.

porcupinetears • 7 years ago

Whedon tried to make a Wonder Woman movie with WB and it didn't work out. But maybe after BvS they would be more interested in seeing what he has to say.

Meta • 7 years ago

He'd say if you want me so badly, not one fucking WB exec steps foot on my set. And they don't get to watch any of it until I've made my edit!
Plus points on the gross.

My Name Is Chris • 7 years ago

And, ironically, that's a deal that is far more likely at WB than Disney.

Flash will do some time travel speed force rewind and here we go again.

Deadite • 7 years ago

yeah, that's what I posted above.

Cynical Optimist • 7 years ago

“We were only ever planning and we are only doing just 'Justice League.' One movie,” “Justice League"

That is a GREAT lie but a stupid one, ESECIALLY when all we heard before the BvS fail was how WB was going for a 2 part JL...

Come on Debbie, use your brain and have some respect for what little fans you have left.

A Little Too Raph • 7 years ago

They apparently forgot people are fully capable of using google, referencing IMDB (Justice League Part Two (2019) Action, Sci-Fi 14 June 2019 (USA) or simply referring back to the many sites where both parts were originally announced as part of the DC movie schedule.

Hank_Henshaw • 7 years ago

Heck, there was a Warner Bros. press release back in October 15, 2014 about it.

TheMuppetManiac • 7 years ago

It's all Snyder's fault. BvS screwed DC so bad. It wasn't that they wanted to make the Bizzaro Marvel universe. The problem was they wanted to jump ahead a few steps and not take the time to put in the work, like Marvel. BvS was so packed with everything and the kitchen sink that it was doomed to fail. Instead of giving all the characters their own movies and slowly building the universe. It would be like if after Iron Man was a hit, they said "Hey, let's do Civil War next!" It will introduce the Avengers and in the end we tease Thanos.

Steven Seagal's Potbelly • 7 years ago

Lets not forget Affleck, who was on set, in costume, re-writing the script on the fly. God that is a hilarious image.

BongBong • 7 years ago

Ben: "OK, Zack. Here are the latest pages."

Zack: "You just added a few grunts and a glower to your part. That's it?"

Ben: (Grunts in the affirmative.)

Henry: "But wait, what happened to all my dialogue?"

vancejf • 7 years ago

Is there a picture of this? I can't seem to find one.

Dr. Steel • 7 years ago

Imagine if DC actually had under their belts 3 Affleck Batman movies, 2 Cavill Superman movies, and 2 Justice League movies, allowing the differences in their approaches to fighting crime to be established, and allowing those differences to gestate and fester between them, and then pit their two biggest heroes against each other in a film that is is some ways a culmination of previous 7 films.

Josh • 7 years ago

You know, I wish they'd cut out that horrible "doomsday" ending, and used the time to flesh out both characters and whatnot more. Not 7 movies worth, but maybe it could have had a BIT more time to feel more impactful.

BigJ • 7 years ago

Civil War was overrated. Great giant super battle, but that was about it. I saw it twice due to family, but honestly only Spider Man stuck with me.

Ghostdog • 7 years ago

I enjoyed Civil War for the most part(stand outs being Cap, Falcon and Black Panther), but Winter Soldier and First Avenger were better.

As for Spider-Boy, he was the worst part of the movie, very shoehorned in and distracting, not to mention just bad. During his after credits scene, people in the theater booed and one guy even yelled "Who the hell cares? He's ugly."

Auntie Fah • 7 years ago

They should have used age progression software to see what he'll look like then he's twenty five,

Josh • 7 years ago

I think Winter Solider was better, but that's not saying much as I think it's one of the best films of all time. I still think Civil War was amazing.

I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the costume with mechanical eyes...I mean it's weird, and born out of the fact that they always draw spiderman with expressions, but in real life that doesn't work...but anyway I had no probably with him either.
