I wonder how much of this building is completely empty.

Kid Kat • 8 years ago

OMG, that poor 17 year old does not look happy at all. That cake looks like a paper mache box. I wonder if there are any gifts inside.

Questions about Roland's Xemu flyer:

Psychiatrists and tax collectors are mentioned in paragraph 3 of Roland's flyer. Are those both flourishes, "wink, winks" by Roland to the reader that's aware of the issues that CO$ has with psychiatry and their non-profit tax status in the US? Or did Hubbard actually write it that way expecting those OT III students to believe that there were psychiatrists and tax collectors 75 million years ago?

That's actually what LRH wrote.

he wrote it and meant it literally,

LongNeckGoose • 8 years ago

There were literally DOZENS of people in attendance.

For the 17 year old Sea Org member having your birthday at Flag. You look sad, and I can't blame you one bit. That isn't even a cake. At your age, a new baseball bat or lacrosse stick would been a great present. Or a canoe or kayaking day trip. Even a gorgeous day at Clearwater Beach, maybe with a few hours on a jet ski to celebrate your special day.

But there are no teams for you to play on, no relaxing days off, and jet skis probably seem so frivolous compared to all that work you have to do.

Someone stole your childhood and wrapped it up in a billion year contract with the slave navy. I'm sorry.

Maybe there is someone in your family who is not part of this plot to take away the rest of your life, too. Call them. I do hope you get a chance to leave one day soon.

beautifully written aqua... sad..

I became a Decemberist today. Made such an impact by joining that I started, as a Calvary Corporal.

Now, I'm free! Free !!

scottmercer • 8 years ago

The Decemberists video is amazing, but I think Tim & Eric's Zone Theory is even more hilarious, for those that have not seen it. https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Draco • 8 years ago

So, not too different from the OT8 wins then.

Baby...Trudy Hylant • 8 years ago

OMG..hahahhahahahha .. This is so silly.. Love it Scott..

I love the fake Willem Defoe guy.

I think about all the Sea Org kids when I go to all these concerts I go to. THEY should be able to do this stuff when they are young and having the time of their lives, not some old lady like me. I know they are "saving the planet" and all that stuff, but damn...they are missing so much.

Susan B. • 8 years ago

Does anyone know how many kids (18 and under) are in the Sea Org these days? Do they still take really young kids or is there a minimum age now?

JustSheila • 8 years ago

Some of the Anons videotaped a busload of SO children a couple of years ago at Flag. Some looked as young as six or eight years old. I'm not sure if the vid is still up; people get sensitive about videotaping children, but someone has it.

ReallyMGM • 8 years ago

OT: MrMGM bought me tickets to see Joe Bonamassa. The bucket list keeps on getting checked off...

jazzlover • 8 years ago

How was Bobby Plant? ;)

ReallyMGM • 8 years ago

Fabulous! He is still a treat at his age. Have tickets to see Heart too. That's for MrMGM. Chick band of his dreams. (Not really, that was Joan Jett and the Blackhearts)

ETA The best quote after the Plant concert was a 20 year old college student screaming "I've been baptized!!!!"

jazzlover • 8 years ago

LOL. Glad you enjoyed it, and glad that Plant is still bringing it. You should enjoy Heart. I don't know if you watched the Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zep a few years ago, but Heart put on quite the display, with a rousing version of Stairway to Heaven that had Jimmy and Robert in tears.

ReallyMGM • 8 years ago

It was incredible.

jazzlover • 8 years ago

Is he completely over Zeppelin these days, or did he play a track or two?

ReallyMGM • 7 years ago

This is the concert I found that I found that I "have-to-see." It is a one night only, in the park, bring your own picnic and booze, of course.....together, Mavis Staple and St Paul & The Broken Bones. I don't know know if you have heard of the latter, but look them up on YouTube. They are fabulous. The combination should be sublime!

jazzlover • 7 years ago

Wow! They are really good. And if you need any other sign that this could be karma, or kismet or whatever, they do a song called............Call Me :)

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

ReallyMGM • 7 years ago

Found it. I've seen them 3 times already, but not wit Mavis. It should be a match made in heaven! Very excited.

jazzlover • 7 years ago

Ask 'em to do a dedication on that song. More exposure. Win/win :)

ReallyMGM • 8 years ago

He is totally worth seeing. His voice sounds better than it did at the end of that Zeppelin days, maybe due to stopping smoking. Still the range despite the age. The band has been together long enough now they are a well oiled machine. They should be on Austin City Limits this season.

ReallyMGM • 8 years ago

Dancing Days, Whole Lotta Love, Black Dog, Babe Gonna Leave You, Going to Calfornia, The Rain Song (swoon), some transitions from one thing to another but Spoonful might be his best song, not Zep

Draco • 8 years ago

Enjoy!

ReallyMGM • 8 years ago

I plan on it!

Artoo45 • 8 years ago

OT, but, it's after midnight in DC, the baby eagles are all alone in the nest. It's 52º, so they're hardly going to freeze, but come back mama. Not cool.

Draco • 8 years ago

I hope mama's back by now...

Steve Bazemore • 8 years ago

Genius song/video

Spike Robinson • 8 years ago

Completely off-topic, but I thought I'd share one of my "other" art projects. One word, many different languages. And, frankly, some folks' alphabets make my language look so boring...

Ah, well. Good night, all!

And of course, Peace. No matter how you spell it.

unfortunately the Arabic and Hebrew are spelled backwards

Spike Robinson • 8 years ago

Damn, you're right; I thought Photoshop was doing something funky there. Shoulda caught that; good catch and thanks - I shall edit!

chukicita • 8 years ago

love this!

Draco • 8 years ago

Some alphabets are just plain art! Sleep tight Spike :)

Vaquera • 8 years ago

Juicer, I see your upvotes. Girl, go to sleep! Then again, you might already be tucked in, but the bed is spinning.
Signs of an evening well enjoyed.

LongtimeLurker • 8 years ago

Darn.

I just got here and everyone's already in their jammies.

Draco • 8 years ago

Time zones are annoying. The good chats usually start when it's time for me to go to sleep! It is 7:30 am here and just got up. Morning LtL.

daisy • 8 years ago

Good night Draco, it is almost 2 a,m. here.

Draco • 8 years ago

Night night Daisy. Sweet dreams :)

LongtimeLurker • 8 years ago

Morning D!

Well normally I'd check in just after the post goes up, because insomnia.

But I've been without home internet for 2 weeks, so it's whenever I can be bothered going to a cafe.

Australia; sport, deadly flora & fauna and post-apocalyptic film? No worries!

Other stuff? Not so much.

Juicer77 • 8 years ago

Lol. Yes, ma'am. ;)
