I want to vomit so distasteful are our politicians.

alekii • 8 years ago

aiiiii, where did you expect the family to eat from?how will they remember the good old days?

ngaii • 8 years ago

Our politicians shamelessly do this all the time even with CDF.

Jackie Kibe • 8 years ago

Nation, on print you have done this story carelessly. You carry out the story on page 8, alleging that you have continued from page 1. The story is not there on page 1, so where are you continuing from?

ngaii • 8 years ago

I thought the problem was with my copy

Margaret Mbogoh • 8 years ago

Despicable behavior. I wonder how many Women, Youth or PWDs got a lil tender worth Kes. 20,000!

jakeb • 8 years ago

Unbelievable!!!
Well Mr President what is your response?

And this is news why?

DrCheluget Motellin • 8 years ago

The dictators is finally cornered! Audict reports show the governor belongs to prison.

Believe in You • 8 years ago

He has been stealing for a long time and that is why he often portrays himself as a Jubilee victim. It is a well-mastered plan that Kenyan politicians thrive in. Indulge in high level corruption while at the same time pretending be the peoples' fighters. Just watch him go back to his tribe and claim the entire community is being punished blah blah. Useless man!!!

Ciiru Kathuri • 8 years ago

None is pure. Those in charge of county governments have forgotten that they are supposed to be setting up their counties and sustaining themselves (funding themselves) without the central government funding them. Devolution has become a torn pocket, dropping coins on the go.

The senate committee might do nothing ,but as Machiavelli once said "the prince ought to inspire fear in such a way that, if he does not win love, he at least avoids hatred.....This he can always do if he abstains from the property of his citizens and subjects, and from their women."....the citizens and the subjects will definitely not like it..

Mwanzo • 8 years ago

How different is he to the other Ruto? Kettle calling another black

joe • 8 years ago

What can the senate committee do anyway.???..The governor has confidence they can only bark but cant bite; thus his answers of a bulky list and see's no conflict of interest with getting tenders through proxy; Afterall everybody is doing it, isn't it the order of the day.??

Rahmatullahs-The One • 8 years ago

I cannot believe Bomet Governor has no direct input tenders to its siblings. This is nepotism, its been there since independence and all the Parliamentarians are doing it.I am not surprised at this kind of influence in tendering businessness close to one of your own!!!. This is purely conflict of interest and should not be allowed to happen where others lose out through influences/nepotism.Can anything be done about it, I don't think so.And who will take responsibility/point finger , if the project is incomplete or money been misappropriated from next of kin!!

TolbertMwiine • 8 years ago

No wonder this guy has been very vocal that the money going to Mashinani is so little and they are start the pesa mashinani campaign so that he can cover all this bros and sisters and other exteneded family and still have change? ehe! Now we know, we want more money to the grassroots but not when governors are there

Kibs Mike • 8 years ago

Pesa mashinani indeed! Man eat man society; you think you ran from one only to find yourself in the jaws of another.

Chris • 8 years ago

How is a list of 3,750 county employees bulky?? Pattni showed up at his Goldenberg hearings with pick-up loads of documents to prove his "innocence". Ever heard of digital/electronic media, flashdisks, email etc??
Also how can you not know that the companies you gave tenders and contracts to are your siblings?? This guy is either really daft or thinks everyone else is daft.

Ben • 8 years ago

We raised the alarm long time but got no help. We are just waiting for 2017 to send him home then demand accountability.

james • 8 years ago

Oops, the next government!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. My foot. Now we know why he sings RAO songs.

Oti_g • 8 years ago

they are all the same - selfish, greedy, corrupt...doesn't matter what tribe or party.
and that's why we love them and will still vote them back.

Gone are the days of commission of inquiry to inquire on what the other
commission of inquiry inquired .But the result is the same .there is no wrong doing. Can the Senate really brush off that "WATCH DOG" tag and bite? We can understand if they bite more than they can chew.Cant we Kenyans?

Rarewatts • 8 years ago

This is truly embarrassing. But as usual, nothing will happen. Even Wetangula is free to contest and 'treat' voters again!

ANDREW THUITA • 8 years ago

Kenyans lamenting that they are sick and tired of a culture myred in corruption and nepotism, must demand that nonsense like this be ended. No fancy language here, if it looks like nepotism, it is corruption and unacceptable!

mwana_jumuia • 8 years ago

It's our time to eat mentality, next he will call press conference claiming he is being attacked by political nemesis on a witch-hunt.

Jicho • 8 years ago

If you live in a glass house do not throw stones, the adage goes.

mtandao • 8 years ago

Where do Bomet residents expect Isaac Ruto to get finances for a chopper, fund his new party and campaign for the next election? Give us a break. It's a culture to steal and be glorified in kenyan politics.

Japheth Okumu • 8 years ago

“We have documents indicating that the owners are related to you. The same directors appear on several companies that have been given tenders and contracts. These are documents from the Registrar of Companies,” said Mr Kerrow.

Wisley Agasa • 8 years ago

Shame on you,i can see why you have been fighting to get more funds at the county level

zem2012(Mr.Amwoma) • 8 years ago

I am not surprised. These things are going in almost every devolved office. We have heard of unwritten stories of corrupt tendering on a daily basis. It is the talk of town these days.

SIMSOL316 • 8 years ago

If we were in a country governed by the rule of law, the governor would have been deposed. In Kenya thieves are regarded as heroes.

bigsoks • 8 years ago

Pesa mashinani party, maendeleo chap chap and many more shenanigans.. We are doomed!!!!

eookemwa • 8 years ago

You know what, Rutoh is doing what many 'big' men and women do in Kenya. It is not new or strange even to those who greeting the Bomet Governor. Who is clean ? Let nobody be the first to cast stone onr Rutoh.

Rodney Agesa • 8 years ago

" the two dubious companies have constructed more than 50 per cent of all the county roads constructed so far and their payments have been prompt without delay,” said the petitioners."?????????
How can they be dubious if they have done what they were paid to do?In any case Ksh.200 million is PEANUTS when spent on road construction.

Payment for public works can not be prompt. There has to be an accessment process to ascertain that the companies have actually donne what the contract says. So the fact that they received thir money promptly shows a higher power was involved. Tha fact that they are family members means that the Governor was surely aware. And 50% of all road constructions? Come on. Not possibly for 2 companies to win all those tenders.

Rodney Agesa • 8 years ago

So being efficient and prompt in payments is also a crime?

You really have no clue about inspections and verifications of public works. When tax payers money is spent then the process is to make absolutly sure that the work was carried out. Secondly there is a huge conflict of interest if the Governor's siblings are getting the tenders. If they were so good how come the companies never undertook projects in other counties?

Rodney Agesa • 8 years ago

All the clue I need is the Bomet County is very efficient compared to the national government.Because their names would have betrayed them there!

Mwanzo • 8 years ago

Agesa, it is the process of awarding the tenders that is wrong. If we allow each one of us to employ competent relatives in public offices, what will happen to more/deserving competent neighbours?

Rodney Agesa • 8 years ago

Has it been shown anywhere in the article that they didn't win the tenders fairly?I am sure Brookside supplies milk to some Barracks in Kenya are they competent to do it or is it because Uhuru is the president?

Mwanzo • 8 years ago

I was defining nepotism, it is not up to me to answer your question

Eunuch • 8 years ago

Hypocrisy reloaded or witchhunt galore?

loose canon muthama • 8 years ago

Tenders for siblings? This is a new low..

9thPHANTOMofSIX • 8 years ago

Alas! This is the guy who was throwing rocks. Kumbe he lives in a glass house.

Sasa uta face music bro!

Morphus • 8 years ago

what a shame---let him who lives in a glass house not throw stones, but alas! Ruto has done exactly that.

Wilfred Ole Asani • 8 years ago

40 Days have reached for Rutto and this time he should not use Jubilee as the scapegoat as he is a man who likes crying foul on everything!!!

Haiya!! When will a week go by without a corruption scandal touching the high and mighty? Left right and centre, everywhere I look. I cry for my beloved country

Jeff • 8 years ago

Pesa mashinani. More money for yourself and your relatives. Politicians making the most noise are actually the most corrupt. Shame on you. Hope he dismally fails come 2017 which he will.

karamanzei • 8 years ago

Kindly audit other counties and start with Murang'a county
