I saw Brittany in Vegas and I have to say I was a bit disappointed, I think she could interact with the crowd a bit more to make it more enjoyable she said about three times through the night, How you doing Vegas and that was about it. I enjoyed her music but I just felt like she came out sang and left like she wasn't enjoying herself or that she enjoyed entertaining I felt like it could of been more entertaining some how.

If the next album is better than Britney Spears'll be very happy "is not much to ask": D

People go to see Britney for an spectacular theatrical show with dancing and fun music. That's what they get. People go to see Celine Dion to hear her incredible live vocals. They do not get that. Celine Dion lip syncs. She has even admitted it, claiming that singing live all the time is too strenuous on her vocal cords. So why criticize Britney for actually delivering, whereas other artist who do nothing but stand there on the stage and lip sync are praised to high heavens?! And then people have the cheek to call Britney fans stupid, when at least they know what they're paying for. Dion's fans are clearly ignorant to the fact that she fools you all with obviously pre-recorded vocals.

Celine Dion does not lip sync! I have seen her about 15 times live. I saw her once when she admitted to the audience she was under the weather with a cold. I could tell her vocals were off that night. I also have been in the front row of her Vegas show a few times... she is clearly not lip syncing. People just cant believe that her voice is CD quality when seeing her live... that's because she is raw talent!

An intelligent, sophisticated article! I have missed this level of journalism on entertainment websites as of late. Britney Spears seems to have benefited far more than financially from the stability of her Las Vegas residency. Her mental, physical, and spiritual states seem at their peak when you look back on the unfortunate circumstances of her life a few years ago. She looks happy, healthy, and thriving as a mother and a partner. I think a lot of the usual stress in her life has been eliminated. She is virtually protected from the hassles of touring on the road, needing to record a new song every few months to maintain relevance or having to sell 1 million records to earn a decent living for that year. Britney is a living force of nature. I had hoped her Britney Jean album would reflect more of her uplifting story of defying the odds and coming out on top when the world had turned its back on her. I think her new album should reflect the imagery of a phoenix, and involve that mythology. Britney certainly is soaring anew above the ashes of her past.

Yikes! Why are you so negative? Britney may not move as well as she used to or sing as often as she used to, but those are hardly the reasons to see her show to begin with. I attended her Vegas show last year, and was impressed by the level of spectacle I received. Britney looked happy and healthy. I heard her live voice on a majority of the songs, which sounded much better than I expected in the lower register but did falter a bit on the higher notes. She danced limitedly, but not in a lazy way, just in a conservative way. I received more than what I wanted to from the show, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun time.

Personally, I find her fragrances delightful. She has been very involved in their creation and marketing, unlike a lot of people who merely lend their name to something. Jessica Simpson is probably the only other celebrity to have more direct influence over her cosmetic and fashion lines.

Um yes I am and unlike you I have seen her when she was ACTUALLY dancing her A$$ off from 1999 - 2004. 2011 Britney is Halfa$$ney and if you seriously think that 2011-ney can even be remotely considered "dancing her a$$ off" then you have no idea how great she used to be. On a side note: I have paid about 500€ to see her in 2009 again after all the shenanigans and when I realized in 2011 that she wouldn't be as great a performer as she used to be I decided to NOT spend 2000 bucks on flights/accomodation etc. for the Vegas show.

You can't really say Britney "danced her ass off" during the Femme Fatale tour, which is why she was able to sing live more often. She pretty much stood around swinging her arms during that tour. Vegas is the first time since Onyx where she is actually doing proper dance routines.

Billboard writers almost never have their information right. Britney has 5 Billboard #1's, not 4 which is reported. Baby one more time, Womanizer, 3, Hold it against me and S&M is her 5th #1, which she is featured on.

She is a lip syncer

Whoa. Britney lip syncs. I had no idea. Britney has been around for 16 years, people know by now that she lip syncs before they purchase tickets. I go to a Britney concert to watch her dance and hear her sing one or two songs live as do many other Britney fans

That is a common barb thrown by people who are either too lazy to know any better or too intentionally negative to care. Britney sings on all of her albums and on all of her tours. Her residency in Vegas is performed mostly live, though there are obvious moments where she relies on the recorded vocals. This is part of the choreography, and is very intentional. Britney has performed live vocally on many occasions on MTV and other awards, though she has also performed to recorded vocals in other situations, all of which are also fairly obvious. No one is attending a Britney Spears show for the incredible vocals. She isn't Celine Dion in that way. I'm sure people attending Celine's concert would have been horrified if she started trying to dance to choreography with half-naked men. That wasn't the point of Dion's show. Britney fulfills what her intentions are.

The show I saw clearly had live singing from Britney because it was very flawed. It is easy enough to Google search Britney Live Mic Feed Vegas and watch videos of it. As I said, she also was lip synching as well during songs of heavier movement. Almost everyone lip synchs part of their performances on tour.
