OMG, is what i said out loud upon reading this article. This is the same place my grandson was placed in for 1 1/2 years. My heart goes out to the family. I have written jodi katz numerous times complaining about this place they place children in.thinking it is a safe place for children. IT IS NOT! When i first visited my grandson there i felt like vomiting. As we drove through there to find a parking place we starting seeing childrens underware laying outside on their grounds. THEN when I entered the place my heart dropped and my anger increased ten fold. It was disgusting! The bathroom doors were all locked, The furniture was made out of foam and it looked like a prison.The employees there talk like they have not been educated and they took the job soley for the money and not for helping innocent children who did NOT DO A DAM THING WRONG. My grandson got beat up 4 times which left brusies on him. A serious kick to the head, my grandson has a history of seizures, and they did not medically examine him or send him to a dr. We took pictures everytime. There was one time when we were brought down there by one of the good social workers and he witnessed the bruises as well. He personally called the dcf hotline and made a report but they choose NOT to investigate it. He had urine thrown in his face another time and that was not attended to as well.This is not a place for children to be living in and dcf should be disgraced by what they put innocent children in to live. What is wrong with the city of hamden? SHame on you for allowing dcf to place children in that prison. I am sickened by this story i just read. The govenor and our senate needs to told this and demanded by us to investigate this place. Jodi katz, you are truly a winner at exposing kids to harm. I will pray that you get the punishment you deserve.....so sorry your child has been exposed to this sick sick place which should be on front page news and nationally for that matter.

This is the place in Hamden that is one of the licensed falcilitys that dcf uses to place kids that they feel cannot be placed within a foster family home.There they gave my grandson treatment for an issue that was caused by being sexually abused and he was arrested for it he had to go through therapy which caused him to be afraid to tell the truth that he was raped by a man who threatened him not to tell. Many other therapist kept saying something tragic happened to him to because of his behavior which dcf felt would have endangered his sisters and yanked them ALL out of their SAFE home. He tried to commit sucide at one point and they locked him up in a hospital for two weeks.Upon returning back home to us he felt it was safe enough to tell us what had happened to him 2 years ago by a man he trusted.So dcf screwed up AGAIN thinking they know whats best for a child and instead put FEAR into this child about a very tragic time he endured in FEAR of what would happen to him if he disclosed that to them.Jodi Katz was written many times with this and it fell on her deaf ears, The man who hurt y grandson failed a lie detector test and when asked the question in three different ways he failed miserably. He was arrested on 1st degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. WE now have the boy in therapy for the RIGHT reasons but the toll on him from this dcf ordeal made it that much worse for him. Hamden is just as responsible for allowing this to happen in their town. Like I said I have personally talked to the staff down there when my grandson was being abused and their iq level is not right for this type of job with children. Ask to take a walk through the place where the children live and you better pray that the bathroom doors are unlocked so you can vomit the sickening sight you just saw out of your system.

And just another tidbit to add, when they do release your child you will find that most of his belongings have been stolen as that is what happened to my grandson...their response....We dont know what happened to his stuff.....take pictures of his belongings and write out a list so your son is not a victim of theft!
