"Game of the Year Edition: Complete Edition: The All-Inclusive Premium Collection"
Still missing a hat.
Great. So now even GOTY editions aren't the complete experience. That version also doesn't include the 2nd Vault Hunter Upgrade dlc (higher level cap) because why would it. Fuck you Gearbox.
GOTY editions were never guaranteed to be complete. They are just "game of the year". Borderlands 2 isn't even the first game to not include all their DLC in their "complete" package.
"I did kill my neighbor, but at least I didn't kill 6 million jews" simply because we've seen worse doesn't mean they're not being assholes. Sure you didn't give me HIV, but you still took a big steamy dump in my sandwich
To be fair to Pitchford/Gearbox, they mentioned the possibility of content outside the Season Pass from the start, and even hinted at the idea of multiple "seasons".
As for the GOTY version, it never claimed to have all the DLC from the start.
The name itself doesn't even claim to have everything. Some other games use words like "Complete" or "The Full Package". Honestly, if it weren't for companies getting in the habit of bundling DLC expansions in their GOTY version, the name alone would sound more like consoles' "Greatest Hits" budget (and sometimes slightly altered and/or enhanced) re-releases.
I am a bit surprised people expect a game of the year edition to be the end of new content. If lots of people wait for the game of the year edition, there is a new surge in players who may want more content. There is nothing in the title to actually stipulate that there will be no more content. But most importantly, I think people are overlooking how much content you're actually getting in that game of the year edition. It's pretty damn huge.
this is a GOTY of the wrong Year
maybe in 2014, we'll get the final GOTY, when they're done updating Borderlands 2 (I believe that they are planning on doing 2 other HeadHunter Packs)
Sounds like a 3 dollar experience.
And keeping with the candy theme, that's probably less than you'd spend on a big bag of halloween candy anyway.
Picking this up anyway just because I love Borderlands and I love Halloween.
"Players expecting something on the level of Assault on Dragon Keep will be sorely disappointed."
Wouldn't be surprised of some of these guys actually are expecting $10 worth of DLC for $3.
It's not just the amount of content, but the quality. Assault on Dragon Keep was stellar AND there was a lot of it. If this were of that quality but there was less, then I would consider it on the level with Dragon Keep.
I find with Borderlands that it all tends to "even out". I mean, BL1 Mad Moxxi's (which I *did* enjoy) probably should have been $5, not $10. But Knoxx... I'd have paid $15-$20 for it, as it felt more like an "expansion pack" in the old school sense.
Indeed, Assault on Dragon Keep is probably worth more than $10. Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt was probably worth about $5 though.
All I remember is 10 dollars worth of DLC being DLC3.
So I expected worse than that.
Wait, so this is NOT included in the GOTY edition?! That's BS.
I wasn't expecting much. Guess I'll go back to other things.
That's a real shame that they've let this game drop down to this level.
Assault on Dragon Keep was the only DLC I enjoyed, the rest have felt like a chore to go through. If they're going to keep making DLC I wish they would make it on par with the Assault one.
I do agree with your point but instantly dismiss it since you are a cocaine addict, Dr. Rockzo.
Fair enough, but on a more serious note, I DO COCAINE!
Did someone say COCAINE?!
Haha, that's exactly what doing COCAINE is like. No wonder I'm addicted to it.
Yeah Mediocre seems to sum up how I feel about just about all the BL2 DLC
But the Tiny Tina and Scarlett one were bretty gewd.
But her booty is a disappointment though. :[
Doesn't matter, had sex.
I was speaking of the endgame loot though.
However if you do sex up guns.... I'm going to just slowly back off.
+1
That's a repeatable quest though. You're supposed to hit that booty over and over again with friends to get the best result.
Her booty was alright. The missing limbs and homicidal tendencies I found to be more of a detraction.
I will give you Scarlett is hands down my favorite out of the DLCs thus far. I actually haven't been able to muster the motivation to finish Dragons Keep but what I did play of it was much better than the two that followed Scarlett.
Lazy also covers it
Talentless too.
Im sure some of the people there know what they are doing. Just not anyone with authority... and definetly not the writer.
The writing was one of the main reasons I really disliked BL2. It felt like some shit from 9gag and 4chan.
it does seem like referance, the game
Dudebros love that kind of shit though so I kinda get why they did it.
I dont think its even a dudebro thing.
Im part dudebro, fucking love Gears of war.
Borderlands 2 is just the lowest common denomenator game, its just a game that sucks people in with its wide appeal thing.
Ofcourse once you are an hour in you notice how you were knocked off.
LCD games are what sell the most unfortunately.
As much as I enjoyed borderlands 2 there are signs of doing things fast and loose all around. I'm glad they at least spent the time to make Tiny Tina's Assualt more substantial.
Yeah, the boss fights being one huge thing... and sound design. Ever notice how none of the little cut scenes seem to have any sound effects in it? Its really low and dull...
They don't really seem to know how to do cutscenes. The sound design during normal gameplay is fantastic though. Almost everything has a distinctive audio que.
Yeah, not that i want a ton of cutscenes. But the way they do stuff makes it seem so cheap and shoddy...
I would apply that adjective to the game as a whole, myself. Aside from some entertaining dialogue, it's a bland, clunky mess, full of padding.
The whole entertaining dialogue and quasi plot line for the me main game tanked out for me somewhere around the BNK3R. I can't quite pinpoint the exact moment but it got eyerollingly turrible really fast.
That was near the end dude. Might as well finish it and get mad at the sequel hook :-)
.... I did finish it and most of the DLC, months ago.
That doesn't change my disapointment at how it just sorta fell apart at the end. As for a Sequel I'll be GOTYing that if I bother with it at all :P
Steam sale of the GOTY Complete edition for like 5$ and I'll think about it :-P
"Included in the DLC are one new area, two new missions, one new enemy, one new boss fight, a new head customization, and not much else."
Seriously, this isn't a DLC. Epic fail.
It's Gearbox. Their products range anywhere between good and rip-off. Sounds like this one is back in rip-off territory.
Gotta wait for Game of the Year Edition Complete Edition I guess.
