Dr. mohammed machi • 9 years ago

hahahahahahhhaa the west must be confused ignorant and seriously joking...they just congratulated al sisi with 96%, the other week they held a theatrical sham in ukraine amidist a civil war..... now they cry foul that mr asad has 87%......these western leaders are really funny!!!!!

Nathan Sanford • 9 years ago

Al Sisi's "election" is widely regarded as a sham in the west.

Steroid • 9 years ago

Exactly. Problem seems to lie mainly with people who think there is such a thing as 'the West'. Non-existent entity that confuses people who cannot think for themselves.

Bruno Villela • 9 years ago

the west = US banks and corporations

Condor • 9 years ago

President Assad has won a fair and square election in a nation sick and tired of Wahhabi terror and the west and rest of the world must accept the decision of the Syrian people and stop this senseless terror campaign as Dr. Assad is here to stay and has the popular mandate. The US and its stooges are on the wrong side of history as usual.

Faux-News • 9 years ago

More like decision of 15% of the country.

GreenHearted • 9 years ago

Come on, folks, we've seen that in the United States, the Big Money power just cheats if they don't get the president they wanted. Besides, the U.S. is not even considered a democracy anymore, but an oligarchy. And Canada's iron-fisted, dictatorial prime minister was elected with only 23% of the Canadian public's vote.

internetpetal • 9 years ago

He doesn't have the popular mandate. He's just a dictator who has gone to war with his people and won. If he allowed proper elections back in 2011 when he only faced popular protests he'd have been out and there wouldn't have been a civil war that killed over a hundred thousand and allowed Al Qaeda groups to establish a presence there.

Ajaz Muzaffer Ahanger • 9 years ago

But U.S. and U.K. have congratulated SISI for his election. LOL.
One thing is proved beyond doubt. West has no morals at all.
For Butcher Assad, getting 89% of the 14% Alawite votes gives him resounding victory. LOL.
I won't be surprised if U.S. and U.K. congratulate Assad for this phenominal democratic victory. LOL.
India's Modi was an untouchable so far and now he is welcome in U.S. Another example of U.S. moral degradation.

internetpetal • 9 years ago

What? You expected the US to abide by India's unconscionable Untouchables system? India itself is trying to get away from that appaling cultural relic.

Guest • 9 years ago

Not really. The US and EU accepted Sisi's presidential election and even welcomed Ukraine's election results despite most of the East not taking part. More of the trademarked Western hypocrisy.

Adult Supervisor • 9 years ago

At least Al Sisi has done a few things right. He got rid of the Muslim Brotherhood and he's determined to improve the economy, fight terroristm, and stabilize the country.

Assad has no chance to achieve similar goals. He will never be able to achieve stability or acceptance by his people. He represents special interests and that's why he's hated by the majority of Syrians.

Too bad Syrians can't hire Israel to manage their country. Israel is the only successful country in the middle east. Israel would dump Assad, cut ties with Iran and Hezbollah, and set the country on a positive course toward economic recovery.

Justnfree • 9 years ago

Egyptian Muslim brotherhood is bad and Alqaeda in Syria is good?

Cut the welfare for Israelis, then we can see how successful they are.

hothead007 • 9 years ago

oh shut up you zionist terrorist $wine who asked for your opinion

jack armstrong • 9 years ago

Angry at hearing the truth? Go throw a tantrum, kid.

Luc • 9 years ago

Sisi-friend, Israel won the apartheid award in the Middle East. Even with the sionist lobbies, Kerry could not keep his mouth shut about it and said it. Syria is a mess, as well as many countries in the region because of Israel's presence there; no sympathies with Assad, but far more less sympathies with the artificial state of israel that only made it due to the mega foreign help from US, Germany and others, and that built their welfare on the corpses and land of others. A day will come where israel will crumble, sooner than many imagine. An an even sooner day will come where Sisi will stand trial for the killings and tortures he ordered. Injustice does not last.

jack armstrong • 9 years ago

" A day will come where israel will crumble, sooner than many imagine. "

A day will come when the mountains will crumble, and the sand of arabia will be blown into the sea.

you can sell your good night stories to misinformed Europeans or Americans who don't know the story of the Arab countries. Jews fled Andalusia and went to Arab countries during the spanish reconquista, and found refuge in the Arab countries in North Africa. Christians have never been persecuted in Arab countries; Crusaders were kicked out however when they tried to take Arab territory, the same fate expecting israel soon

jack armstrong • 9 years ago

Since when is Israel "arab territory"? It never was, except for the time it was invaded and occupied by vagabonds and nomads from the deserts of arabia. Finally, some of the arab occupiers became Israeli citizens, and some of the occupiers ran away to fraternal arab terrorist countries.

moss • 9 years ago

there is no way he can archieve it with the West helping to distabilize the country by assisting rebels! about who the Syrians like or hate, its based on our opinions! but with the voting, we would say majority of those who registered to vote dont hate him and see him as the person who they can trust in!at least he too is fighting terrorists now!no more people who revolted against his regime!

GreenHearted • 9 years ago

Exactly. Syria was simply the next domino in the RAND Corporation's game of Take Over the World (subtitle: We Must Clear a Path to the Oil and Keep the Petro Dollars Flowing).

"Israel, check. Saudi Arabia, check. Eqypt, check. Iraq, check. Jordan, everybody's friend. Lebanon, we can go around them. Libya, pesky diversion, just get rid of it. Syria, it's time. Iran, next up."

My prayers go out to all the innocent Syrians who are caught up in this manufactured destabilization and conflict in the Middle East.

reza • 9 years ago

the guardian June 4,2014:

"Washington says it is looking forward to working with new Egyptian president 'to advance strategic partnership' with US"

"The US president, Barack Obama, will speak with the former army chief in the coming days, the White House said in a statement."

Do I need to say anything else to "the west", Mr. Nathan Sanford?

Havok • 9 years ago

Well at least Sisi is not killing his people in the open, he's smart to put them in Jail first then quietly kill them.

Buttercup yellow • 9 years ago

Regarded?? It is most seriously a sham.

Dave • 9 years ago

According to Western leaders not all Dictatorships are created equal it all depends on whose interests they serve and which Master they serve.

Pedro Rabaçal • 9 years ago

Sounds like the anti-imperialists: not all Dictatorships are created equal it all depends if they are against West or Not.

Ryan Parry • 9 years ago

as long as you understand it is the LEADERS here in the west and not we the people. Congrats to syria keep resisting western zionist pressures we need you guys to remain strong

Pedro Rabaçal • 9 years ago

LOL "western zionist" You islamonazis love to parrot!

Steroid • 9 years ago

That sounds really phony: it's our leaders, but not us! Excuses. And though I have heard US and UK congratulated Sisi, 'strangely' you hear very little from France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Canada, Australia, etc. etc.
Oh wait... maybe these don't even 'belong' together? Ever thought about how 'the West' simply does not exist? Let alone 'western zionist pressures'... man what the heck is that? All I hear lately is people in Europe, US, and Canada boycotting Israeli products and hailing the new Palestinian government. You must have been sleeping under a rock for the past two years.

Shafiq Rahyab • 9 years ago

If Assad had all that military might and the full unconditional support of the US, it would have already brought peace to Syria and then your judgement may have been different. Assad today is fighting the whole army of terrorist Wshhabi and CIA undercovers inside his territory. You should not compare apple with orange.

internetpetal • 9 years ago

The USA help a man whose Shabiha militia carried out massacres, and whose armies rained artillery into civilian areas to punish them for supporting the rebels? That's a pretty big 'if'.

Assad let the terrorist Wahhabis into the country back when started the civil war by massacring civilians rather than allow proper elections he'd have had no chance of winning. It's his fault Al Qaeda groups are in his country, and it's not assured he'll ever be rid of them. Though he probably prefers enemies like that to peaceful opposition, because the West won't back them.

omgamuslim • 9 years ago

Problem with the zionist state is not that it may not be well governed, but that it is a zionist state with a racist ideology built on other people's land by ethnic cleansing.

jack armstrong • 9 years ago

There's no problem with the zionist state. The problem seems to be with all of its neighbors.

Ryan Parry • 9 years ago

the neighbors that they stole their farms and homes from or the neighbors they murdered used white phosphorus on, the hundreds of thousands of neighbors they displaced or the ones that they bulldozed inside their homes? wake up israel is ran by psychopaths

jack armstrong • 9 years ago

When your "neighbors" are trying to invade, occupy, and kill you off, resistance is no crime. Don't like white phosphorous? Don't try to occupy Israel.

omgamuslim • 9 years ago

So called 'Israel' -stolen property. Efforts to reclaim stolen property is no aggression.

Ryan Parry • 9 years ago

are you one of those israeli college students that gets paid by the israeli government to post propaganda about israel? lol its well documented theyve been doing it for some time now to try and hide their crimes and paint themselves as being good, all that effort to "look" good kinda does the opposite for them since if they truly were they wouldnt need a propaganda campaign lol

jack armstrong • 9 years ago

I can tell you are a very perspicacious personage. Yes, I am an Israeli college student; how did you guess? I receive .03 shekels per word; I've been doing it quite a while; it's always good to propose rational, logical explanations as an alternative to the bullfrog croaks of the p.c. jihadi-nazi-terror crowd that you belong to.

If you actually believe that this comedy show was an election, then I suggest you seek medical attention.

Justnfree • 9 years ago

Syrian people decide whether it was comedy show or not. It seems its obvious what is their opinion.

internetpetal • 9 years ago

The Syria people, as always, get to decide nothing. This is not a real election, the Assad regime has, as always, denied them any choice that doesn't keep him in power. Do you really believe this is democracy?

Mauvia Azad • 9 years ago

Al-Sisi and Al-Asad both are criminals and must be hanged for their crimes against humanity,,,,,,one group
of international thugs led by USA including UK, France, Germany and
Saudi Arabia are supporting Al-Sisi. While another leading group of
Hypocrites led by Russia including China, Iran are supporting Al-Asad
the mass killer of Muslims in Syria.

moss • 9 years ago

it was an election, just as the one in Ukraine and Egypt when there is unrest in the countries!
