There would have been a goldmine of research to be done on him and the countless other drunks in the halls of DC without having to be cruel to innocent primates by getting them drunk. For heavens sake, these "researchers" would be indignant at the idea of men getting women drunk.

All that is well and good and I dont totally disagree, but the point of this is we are spending millions and millions to get monkeys drunk when we have hospitals full of people who are alcoholics. I'm sure we can draw blood and dna from them without paying millions and millions of dollars to get monkey's drunk.

I think we pretty much know the effects of alcohol. This is just money wasting grant money that our politicians keep heaping money on every year and have no idea what they're about. And the fact that we have no idea what this stupid, money wasting " study" is for just more evidence that this sort of nonsense needs to be done away with. Why did they have to use monkeys for this study? The Feds always spend money like drunken monkeys, so they could have studied federal government employees and in their natural habitat to boot.

I suspect the monkeys being studied all work in DC.

Not everything that the government spends money on is a waste. Just look at the current programs that has already spent over 3 million dollars to study why 75% of lesbians are overweight, but homosexual men are not. Wait.... the government does waste a lot of money.

My guess is, the "researchers" are the ones getting drunk and partying on our tax money. Since government never checks this crap out they would have no idea what's going on.
