The aluminum sheets used for the research were
bare, had no chromate conversion coating, were not anodized, had no organic
finish, and had no sealant adhesion promoter. If there is enough
interest, we would consider conducting some additional research for safer
sealant removers.

There were several aspects of the aluminum 'plates' [sheets] that were not explained, as follows.
Bare or Clad sheet?
What was the finish on aluminum sheet: clean/bare, alodined [chromate conversion coated], anodized [PAA, SAA, CAA, etc], or silane coated [SolGel or AF PreCote], or other inorganic finish?
Was the surface pre-treated with sealant adhesion promoter?
IF none of the above, is there a follow-on program to explore these parameters?
