When will we start to focus on the real problem. If Jamaica got the whole 7.5 trillion, we would be back where we are in a few years.
We have wasteful corrupt politicians who put party before country and a lazy corrupt populace who give them undying support/

The PM's mouth slipped: We are spending MORE to do LESS....and everyone at the stadium applauded!

adam godson • 9 years ago

it wasnt her mouth that slipped.it was the brain.

Rachael • 9 years ago

you people are so unkind,,,,if PSM was a relative of yours, would you like anyone to make that comment. since yu tink running government easy....go in deh nuh........

Proro1 • 9 years ago

Somebody FORCED her to do it?

adam godson • 9 years ago

Thank you.
being unkind to the prime minister is one of my better qualities.

lionhead • 9 years ago

Family or not.Every individual should be accountable, for his or her duty.Too much Nepotism in Jamaican Politricks.

adam godson • 9 years ago

if psm was a relative of mine,i would not like her to be shouting on stage ''doan draw mi tongue'' .

.... • 9 years ago

And the thing is he likes to pretend he only travels the moral high road. lol

adam godson • 9 years ago

i pretend to only travel the moral high road? Clearly you dont have a clue.
i bet you think you have scored points by trying to ascribe some sort of hypocrisy to me,in an attempt to make me look bad.
I am not surprised that you have to make up something about me to attack.
I make no pretense to travel any moral high road, because i dont travel that road.
(1) This is not the first, and it wont be the last ''unkind'' thing i have to say about portia simpson or the pnp. Take for instance,i never use capital letters when referring to them..
(2) You clearly have not read any of the ''immoral'' things i have said about marriage and monogamy.
(3) You must not have read my comments concerning religion and religious people.
(4) You have not read my comments advocating that people be free to use narcotic drugs without fear of prosecution
Me? Pretend to travel the moral high road? You have me confused with someone else.
Either that,or you are just confused.
Nice try though.

.... • 9 years ago

LOL! It look like weh mi seh bun yu! LOL

adam godson • 9 years ago

That's it?
Resorting to patois, just like the herd?
Liberally sprinkling your comments with ''LOL'',just like the herd would do?
No insulting people's intelligence like you normally do?
No big words and quotes to make yourself look as smart as you think you are?
So you were just wasting my time all along then.

Yes,it bun mi bad.
Geniuses like you tend to get under my skin,or unda mi 'kin, since you have slipped into patois, like the rest of us herd.

adam godson • 9 years ago

i neither travel, nor pretend to travel any moral high road, but it was very cute of you to try to make me out to be some sort of hypocrite though. Herd-like,but cute nonetheless.

I seriously hope that Britain, does not even glance at anything named reparation to any failed BLACK state like ours. Jamaica failed because Jamaicans allowed it to fail. The reason why Jamaicans cant even go to Britain freely is because of Jamaicans. When will Jamaicans and people of African descent, start admitting that the reason why our states cannot escape failure, is because we still think we are enslaved and continue to blame colonialism for OUR failure

Jomo Appleton • 9 years ago

Our present situation stems directly from slavery, to say otherwise would indicate grave ignorance. Everything that occurs leads to some kind of consequence, be it good or bad. Slavery has set us back tremendously and that's very obvious. If I'm wrong, ask yourself if we would be in the same situation today if slavery didn't happen. The answer I'm sure will be NO!

John Wits • 9 years ago

You're talking utter garbage. If you're a student of history you'll recall that Britain themselves were slaves to the great Roman empire many years ago. No where in British history have I read them whining and moaning about reparations.
And who have the most influence in the world now, language and all????!!!!!!
You need to read Marcus Garvey - self-reliance....
God gives everything to industry.....

Rob base • 9 years ago

Britain, America and Germany paid reparations to Jews........

chris • 9 years ago

Are you practicing Marcus self reliance/race first?

Tjhrii Asar Memnon • 9 years ago

Teach em blackman. I suggest some of y'all read the destruction of black civilization or how Europe underdeveloped Africa.

Not excuses, the best way to control a slave is to let them control themselves. Remember Walter Rodney? University students demonstrated when the govt banned his entry into the country. What are university students now doing.....? Bleaching, wearing extensions....looking like massah. Recently a muslim was banned from entering Jamaica, what did university students do......continued trying to look like/ be like massah. We lose wi way. University students represent change....but what a change (fb, twitter, kartel, kim kardashian....) where is the fight for the good?

Tjhrii Asar Memnon • 9 years ago

Excuses?! If your knowledge and wisdom was at a certain level you wouldn't make a statement like that but understood that I was telling the other half of a story. I am not Nostradamus nor did I wrote revelation and am not the Oracle of Delphi so I cant tell you when exactly the change will happen as it is a work in progressed. Change is inevitable it's apart of nature, the change that's happening is for the better. So If you think or don't see the positive change that's happening. Here is one avenue www.Africanglobe.net, the other avenue please go and find for your self. You also need to remove the horse blinkers that has been placed over your head.

Guest • 9 years ago
Tjhrii Asar Memnon • 9 years ago

Persons like you who still have there horse blinkers on will never know why white supremacy don't want any black unity. During civil rights struggle and apartheid that was a lot of black unity. You ever heard of black wall street. Greenwood is a neighborhood in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As one of the most successful and wealthiest African American communities in the United States during the early 20th Century, it was popularly known as America's "Black Wall Street" until the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921. Yeah and during that race riot the US govt dropped launched air strikes and bomb that community. Why? because black unity was growing in American and a threat to their white establishment. What you should be asking is who is benefiting from the ignorance and keeping Africans separated.

Tjhrii Asar Memnon • 9 years ago

Black is not of race. Up until the 17th century, racial classification was unheard of. As a matter of fact, Africans were viewed in a positive light for being excellent agriculturalists and physical laborers. It wasn’t until anti-slavery sentiment began to sweep across the Western world that slave profiteers and the ruling class had to take drastic measures to prove that Africans were inferior.

To justify the dehumanization of Africans to maintain the profitable business of slavery, a two-pronged approach was implemented with validation from both the church and science.

With the church’s blessings, African people, who were widely non Christians, were labeled as heathens in need of saving. The science community created racial classifications for Caucasians, Asians and Africans respectively, within a social hierarchy.

Carolus Linneaus, inventor of zoological taxonomy, was the first ‘expert’ to assign phenotypes with each race. White personality characteristics were listed as acute, adventurous and active. Conversely, Black personality traits were classified as “crafty, lazy and careless.”

Am already doing that. Change starts from the inside.

Tjhrii Asar Memnon • 9 years ago

Excuses! Firstly I debate with my equal others I teach, get a book and pen. That was not an excuse but another part of the story. You seem to be a type of person that can be termed as a "living dead" or "empty vessel". This type of person has no idea or knowledge of self, culture, history legacy and greatness. So this makes you easily manipulated and easily become a coon or uncle tom. Bet you didn't know that Africa and Africans made more contribution to Europe than Europeans. I don't have the time to lecture you here. Regarding when will that change? Not today but. it can happen, will happen and must happen for us Africans. With your current mindset you will not be apart of it and is already apart of the problem. Hmmm.. couldn't be part of the solution.

Guest • 9 years ago
Tjhrii Asar Memnon • 9 years ago

NULL?? Yup your head.

Tjhrii Asar Memnon • 9 years ago

That was not a excuse. I was just presenting the other half of a story. You are what they call the "living dead" or "empty vessel" - Someone who don't have not enough knowledge of self, culture, history, greatness. Oh don't forget gullible! I had the same mindset as you so there is hope for you . Our outlook as African people can change, It will change, It must change. When?! as soon as persons like you regain knowledge of yourself, culture, history, greatness and stop being homogenized niggers.

cass • 9 years ago

I beg to differ....Slavery is what created us as Jamaicans...If you truly want to know where we would be without slavery look no further than where our foreparents were taken from, most likely North or West Africa. ..looking at those regions now I know where I'd rather be..don't get me wrong, slavery was wrong and inhumane, our foreparents suffered but they also fought that we can can call ourselves Jamaicans and it was their sacrifice why we are where we are today and for that we should all be grateful.

SmithMax • 9 years ago

U do realize Africanss came to the Caribbean b4 Europeans. Its a reason why education and religion are mostly eurocentric

james dallen • 9 years ago

GREAT POINT SIR..CANT BE SAID BETTER

Bombay Mango • 9 years ago

slavery was abolished 149 years ago, that timeframe represents roughly 7 generations. So I think that the deleterious effects of Slavery should be by now have been diluted. Secondly, if slavery did not occur, where would we be today? would the present day Jamaicans even exist? I would humbly suggest that while we wait for Reparations, we continue as descendants of former slaves to become an economically viable hybrid race/nation. Such an effort will take invention, hard work, reduced crime rates, etc.
It is futile for some many of us to actually waste our lives waiting for on payments from the modern day British people. We are ourselves, modern day Jamaicans. No wonder we have managed to inculcate such a culture of dependence in Jamaica and why the politicians are able to keep the masses perpetually under their spell.

SmithMax • 9 years ago

I wonder if u would tell God that2000 years was too long for His return?

thorbergers • 9 years ago

ooh god again...the ultimate argument if you got no other

SmithMax • 9 years ago

As 'god again' is like holy water to a vampire for you, there is a book- Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome, by Dr. Joy DeGruy....If only my people read the right material

SmithMax • 9 years ago

Point taken. Your own ignorance is confirmation.

chris • 9 years ago

Dont you realize that the Queen is still head of state for Jamaica. whenever you go into a court house the first thing they say "is god save the queen". Only 35,000 Jamaicans is other race the next 2.7 mill is consider Black so I dont know where you are going to get this multicultural utopia from. maybe u think that way because the 35,000 control all the wealth in Jamaica pass down to them from slavery/colonial time and set the education system/social standards of the country.

Peter Bradshaw • 9 years ago

Many of us would be back in Africa. The place where all Jamaicans are running and going to live. Even this morning there was a long line of people outside the Nigerian embassy waiting to get a visa. I am going to the Congo myself or the Central African Republic. These places are filled with exciting scenes. Why go to boring Canada, USA or UK when all the excitement of Africa beckons. Some of my friends are so desperate to reach Africa that they have built rafts and are even as I write on the high seas on their way to the golden continent.

PS. Peter has not taken his medications and is a bit confused.
Signed Dr Sigmund Freud

.... • 9 years ago

Interesting you mention Freud since he was a Zionist. Zionism was very unpopular before WW2 and the holocaust. Many Jews laughed at back to Israel Zionism, like you are doing now. Just saying.

Peter Bradshaw • 9 years ago

Big difference we have an a so-called independent state populated by a majority of people who share the same mixed heritage. The Hebrew/Jews were living as minority groups in Europe and elsewhere. If I were to return to my roots I would have to sent a part to England, Scotland and wherever in Africa the rest of my ancestors came from. The Chinese in Singapore and Hong Kong made it where they were and called it home. It is time we start regarding this as our home and treat it accordingly. Africans do not have any kind views about us. Why give up our own land for someones else's ground. Many Chinese would be glad to take our place in Jamaica. You seem eager to give away your birthright.

chris • 9 years ago

majority of Jamaicans are not mix, miseducation myth of out of many one. Jews are of Europeans who simply converted to Judaism. Reparation is not no back to Africa thing. lol

.... • 9 years ago

Pete, calm down. Stop flying all over the place from Scotland to hong Kong. lol I'm not trying make case for reparations or repatriation, just commenting on the fact that some programs may seem a "joke" now but history is a funny thing. Thought you as a teacher (?) would appreciate that. btw, our first national hero didnt seem to think it was a "big difference".

Peter Bradshaw • 9 years ago

True I understand where you are coming from. Hold on did Garvey ever live for any significant part of his life on the continent of Africa? Would not mind some reparations but then the lucre would end up in the hands of those who,"Are doing less with more money." Am I foolish to still believe in the potential of this country to achieve great things.Sigh!

chris • 9 years ago

i dont think Garvey ever went to Africa. If you believe in yourself I dont think you are a fool to believe

Peter Bradshaw • 9 years ago

Nigeria doesn't have an embassy. How you never spot the error. They have a High commission. I must have lost my mind.

chris • 9 years ago

Jamaicans are well trained slaves that is why they run to England,Canada, USA to work cleaning up after their masters to get a pat on the back and few leftovers.

SmithMax • 9 years ago

Willie Lynch lives with us in the metaphysical bro.....not sure how many knew about the effect of his work on "US"
