S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat is great, but the best of all is Shadow of Chernobyl. Way larger and fulfilling than CoP. SoC is among the greatest game i've ever played in my whole life. Such immersion made me completely forget than i'm just an average person among others. I was THERE and i had to survive the most fearsome creatures and locations... I wish i would have the Men in Black memory eraser to wipe out mine and discover this marvellous game many more times!

SoC isn't exactly better really, there was a few minor things it had over CoP besides the single major thing being more areas and different endings although endings is only minor I guess, CoP did have far more weapons and modifications and some better artifacts besides for the better graphics.

I honestly expected BS overrated games to be on this list. I was pleasant surprised.

Arma series, Total war series, and maybe FSX. What lacks most in console gaming are strategy, simulation and point and click adventure games.

Stop recommending the horrendous Complete mods for STALKER, especially for call of pripyat which actually introduces major bugs and performance issues to GSCs first stalker game that was actually rather bug free at launch.

Jesus Christ this list is awful. They should of added at least 1 Valve game and maybe some Ubisoft, Tripwire Interactive, and some Indie games.

pretty much every valve game is also on console, same with ubisoft. I agree tripwire is good (killing floor and RO2 are amazing). They also had 2 indie games. FTL and Papers, Please.

I really don't agree with this list. Whether the list was supposed to be about games that you can really only experience on PC, or just plain ol' good games that were only on PC, this list seems very lacking. For sake of discussion, I will make my own list assuming that it's for games that really can only be experienced on the PC, and are not necessarily the BEST games on PC.

1. Total War -- My experience with the Shogun entries has made me wonder just how in the heck one of these games could properly work on consoles, and they are a good blend of real-time strategy battles with turn-based campaigns. (NOTE: I'm told that Rome: Total War is the best entry. That may be where I suggest one to try if they want an earlier entry.)

2. Tribes 2 -- Before there was Halo, there was Tribes. There are a number of PC-specific FPS games that require fast reflexes, and have a very dedicated fan-base that shows why the most of the longest running FPS games were PC based. This is the one I'd pick for players to try. (Note: Tribes: Aerial Assault IS technically a port of Tribes 2, but it's enough of a difference for me to still call this a PC exclusive)

3. Thief 2: The Metal Age -- Great stealth with a world design that allows you to explore and complete the objectives YOUR way. Technically not necessarily a game that couldn't be played on console, BUT could you create your own expansion of the game by modding and then release it to the general public (Like "Shadows of the Metal Age T2X) if it WAS a console game?

Definitely try Tribes 2 which is free to play now and with multiplayer patch from http://www.tribesnext.com/, but without players other than myself on occasion. Bot play is still an option. There is also the developer abandoned Tribes: Ascend also free to play. A game that had great potential let down by a silly business model and lacks the modding and map making support which helped make the previous Tribes franchise games so great.

wtf? Tribes 2 was SSSOOOOO crap. It had to be one of the biggest flops ever. I would say Thief 1 is better than 2.

Perhaps you were thinking of Tribes: Vengeance? THAT definitely was crap.

Well I don't know what to tell you but you're wrong (at least with the Tribes. Haven't played the first Thief yet, so I wouldn't know about that one).

CK2 is 1000000X better then Civ5

I agree with Civ and Call of Pripyat. CoP was one of the best FPS games I've ever played.

I love the addition of CIV V on here. The first game my console only friends are told to play. ( I love my consoles too but I am a PC girl at heart) StarCraft II would have to be included for me too.

Why the hell is DOOM and Quake not on this list

Because:
1. Both were also released on many console.
2. Let's be honest: they didn't aged so well (specially Doom)
3. They didn't wanted to include them because reasons.

Oh please, Doom didn't age badly at all also considering that there are source ports, just because the graphics aren't large doesn't mean they were created badly.

Yeah, I was wondering about DOOM (the only FPS I will and can play) was. List is missing any of the timeless cornerstones of PC games.

Papers is a complete and utter joke. It's supposed to be ethical and a moral tale so everyone pro-immigration recommends it. However, Civ 5 can't disappoint when you have the right mods and STALKER COP COMPLETE is absolutely superb. Top notch visuals, great gameplay, only some of teh dialogue and animations are a bit "last generation." Easy to look past with it being so fun and gorgeous though.

Where TF2, CS 1.6, or Hotline Miami?
