shameful, digraceful. Mr. Granger is a dictator

Up for grabs • 9 years ago

The scenario in Linden makes for an interesting situation in the next election.

Seem we have three factions in Linden now. Die-hard PNC, Soft PNC in allegiance with Grander and then Bynae PPP faction.

It is reasonable to assume votes are going to go left, right and to none. We are witnessing the dismantling of an exclusive PNC dynasty.

Babu John already carries scars. It is now Linden turn. Crumbling of the exclusive power blocks.

stardust • 9 years ago

Look......I don't know why Granger locked some of his delegates out from this meeting. But he probably have a good reason and I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. At this stage of the game;what PNC/APNU don't want is to 'wash their dirty laundry in the public arena'.We have bigger fish to fry(getting this no confidence motion passed and gearing up for upcoming elections).Unity is strength....division is failure. If the PNC/APNU and the AFC want to win the hearts and minds of the Guyanese....collectively they have to show that they can lead and govern. The PPP must be salivating at this latest kerfuffle and smelling victory if the leader of this 1 vote majority cannot get their act together. On the eve of bringing down the PPP and setting the stage for new elections.......this kind of behaviour is self/party destructive. We need to grow up and look to the future and not become complacent in the midst of trying to remove the PPP from POWER.We APNU/PNC and AFC are the architects of our own destiny......'TO FAIL TO PREPARE IS TO PREPARE TO FAIL'.

All the political parties not only follow or support the same economic model of "neo-liberalism' aka Free-market capitalism but they are controlled by 'One' Puppet Master. That Puppet Master is the ruler of the world - Uncle Sam. The other point is even if there is a change of Govt. there will be no change in policy. The new govt will follow the method of managed chaos as usual. The change will be cosmetic. Doubt me for now, you will see later. Guyana need a new honest socialist "DEMOCRATIC party, not autocratic as see in the PNC/APNU and the PPP.
A leader is one who is able or capable of finding compromise and if a leader has rejected conciliation then he is dictatorial. No good, party and all in the dump with this imposter PPP. Guyana wake up.

stardust • 9 years ago

Which devil do you want to rule Guyana.....the PPP or APNU/AFC.Make your mind up and stop being WISHY WASHY!!.

2BEAK • 9 years ago

My friend if you only bear with me I will explain and show you these three parties are all the same. The only difference id in Name. Look, Guyana history has shown that when the British colonize Guyana they impose Free-Market Capitalism. Cuffy and company rejected this economic model on the pain of DEATH. Even though slavery had ended this economic model continued under the Indentureship system were Afro-Guyanese work along with the new Indo arrivals. But, the killing and bad treatment of the workers continued as acknowledge in the case of Enmore killings. But, there were killings in other estates.
With the arrival off Jagan and Burnham and the creation of the PPP. It was agreed by all members of the party that Guyana must have independence and, AND depart from free-market capitalism and adopt the economic model of SOCIALISM. This economic of development put people in front of profit. The government PPP govt under Jagan pass laws providing FREE education to the nation' Subsidized Health care, Nationalize electricity so as to prevent it being sold at a profit, subsidized Transport, subsidize agriculture and farming. This socialist economic model has been abandoned by all the political parties. Now the PPP has promised democracy if they win and the PNC/APNU promise Unity. Does this make sense to you. It cannot make any sense to me, never. Look at collapse of the socio-economic collapse of the nation. The problem is that Guyana need a new honest democratic political party. Throw these guys away. Cheers.

What Mr. Granger is doing to the people of Linden he dares not do it to his own children. No wonder his children and son-in-law are members of the AFC. Stabroek News, David Granger is incompetent. David Granger is a misfit.

Packra • 9 years ago

Just to show what kind of fellow this man is can't get his own household in his camp. What a miss fit of a leader .

Kaieteur_Canada • 9 years ago

With incompetent David Granger at the helm, the corrupt teefing ppp government is sure to win a general election ... Granger has to go.

MR. VICKASH SINGH • 9 years ago

MR. VICKASH SINGH • 9 years ago

BRING BACK DE MAN.

Edward James • 9 years ago

Why you keep blaming others for not having your house in order. The opposition leader do not care of Linden he just wants your votes.Just stop blaming PPP and come over,we will allow you to be party of our participatory democracy.

MR. VICKASH SINGH • 9 years ago

These chaps will never change, this racist organization call the PNC will never change. This green fossil has all the merits of a dictator having served one and another cemi one. If you are doing this to your own kith and kin supporters what you will do with supporters of the other end if you are to RULE Guyana which of course will never happen. By the way Lindeners any progress about the money collected to build back the One Mile Primary School razed by opposition terrorists for just not wanting to pay for electricity.

A MOORE • 9 years ago

This sort of reckless and insensitive leadership by Granger will certainly have its consequences. It is quite strange that on the verge of the No Confidence vote and the possibility of general election in 3 or 4 months he is alienating supporters and even PNC councilors in a key area like region 10.
SOMETHING STRANGE IS UP !
I get the feeling that in exchange for APNU's support for the No Confidence Motion he demanded that the AFC stay out of Linden . In addition to which he seem to be trying to influence the democratic process used by the Linden branch as it relates to selecting who runs for certain positions.

F_Skinner • 9 years ago

African Guyanese have a big decision to make. For their own good they may have to look at the new kids on the block. Their votes are taken for granted by the old stalwarts.

bungnavel • 9 years ago

Me thinks Granger is finally getting it. Time for a Stalinist purge or bring back the fella in the purple outfit,

Andrew Daniels • 9 years ago

Nigel and Cathy Hugues are the future of Afro Guyanese advocacy. The people or Linden have to look to the Hugues' for leadership. Forget the PNC and join the AFC.

C I Lewis • 9 years ago

Say it again, Andy. Moses for president. Granger is a joker. Ho would not even make a decent Prime Minister.

dougla • 9 years ago

AFC and PNC ah one like cake and bake,,breaking news Police had to escort Grangee out of Linden,,

Kaieteur_Canada • 9 years ago

Breaking news or soup drinking inside news?

MR. VICKASH SINGH • 9 years ago

Should have been BOOTLICKING NEWS for the BOOTLICKERS ASSOCIATION.

Sanko • 9 years ago

Hahahahaha. Why am I not surprised here. It is because i expected this. Pnc r talking about democracy - well here is their democracy from within their party, which I dont think will change should they come in power. losers they truely are.

csingh • 9 years ago

The PNC has been "locking out" their supporters now for two decades. It is now time for them to join the PPP or AFC.

Georgie • 9 years ago

No ! The PPP supporters are the ones who are fermenting problems amongst the PNC and APNU supporters.
Classic PPP communist dialectic. They cannot carry it out in street protests by the Opposition, while creating violence and mayhem, so they rersort to meetings and conferences..
Beware the Trojan Horse......PPP !!

F_Skinner • 9 years ago

Are you for real? So how come the PNC/APNU can't "ferment(ing)problems amongst" the PPP supporters? You believe in Granger, regardless of his multiple flaws. Now you making excuses to protect him. Well now Plaisance people know who he is, Linden now waking up. Where else/next Guys? GEORGIE. if you depending on APNU to bring about change, forget it. Everything remains the same and gets worse, unless you give the new kids on the block a chance. Switch your allegiance, brother man..

MR. VICKASH SINGH • 9 years ago

It seems you disown BIG PURPLE is the PPP send him to shoot up at Confusion Place na true.

dougla • 9 years ago

The AFC is worse than the PNC only the PPP/C can save them,,

You got jokes, did you say worse than the AFC, do me a favor jacka$$ brains, go do a 22 years research on your racial, corrupt, thieving Pppee party

Packra • 9 years ago

A nice call but that will not happen too soon .

Packra • 9 years ago

Mr. Grainger what will it take for you to understand that Region ten is the a PNC region and the members in that region as loyal member as any other member in any other region. What is it that worries you with members of this region , is it the straight up to the point attitudes of the members, or is it that you can't or will not accept resistance to your type of leadership , which is more and more authoritarian than democratic . This party the PNC is a democratic party and we the members of region ten operates along that line lone before you as leader came along. It is becoming more and more plain to some of us that it seem that you are out the destroyed this party that LSF Burnham started .

A MOORE • 9 years ago

Seems to me that the administrative structure that Burnham put in place since the party was in its infancy needs to be revamped.
As it is neither Granger or his predecessor Corbin are as well liked or ever earned the same level of respect as Burnham . So it is not likely that they will enjoy similar privileges or be received in Linden with the enthusiasm as Burnham . But as leader of the party, Granger appears to be demanding as much.

MR. VICKASH SINGH • 9 years ago

Burnaham died long ago leave the man alone and you all stop seeing Burnaham Jumbie, this is one of Burnaham stooge running the PNC.

Packra • 9 years ago

Is it not one of Cheddi stooge is the President and running the PPP . Both Cheddi and Forbs are part of our political history and citizens will used them as reference to achieve what ever means.

Packra • 9 years ago

Just as how PPP Call on Cheddi so will PNC will reminder Burnham This is a PNC thing Get it.

clarence rickford • 9 years ago

Packra, I do agree fully with your comments, but in the same vein I should add that the performances by both Mr. A. Norton and Ms. V. Kissoon became a weapon which the PPP/C and NCN used against this wonderful party which the Great Leader started, I truly believe was unwarranted. Mr. Burnham would have given them marching orders. I would wish that party first should once again be the Linden 's party song and with that harmonic voice that Linden is known to have rest assured Mr. Granger will reminded that the true headquarters of the PNC is Linden.

F_Skinner • 9 years ago

Burnham started this party? The PNC was first named PPP/Burnham faction. Burnham ran in two elections as the Burnham faction of the PPP before he changed the name to PNC for the 1964 elections. No wonder their ideology is still the same.

clarence rickford • 9 years ago

In 1955, there was a split in the PPP between Burnham and Jagan. As a result, Burnham went on to form the People's National Congress in 1958 entering its first election under that name in 1961.
Forbes Burnham
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaI hope this is of some help.

Party member • 9 years ago

Clarence, Mr. Burnham was too astute a politician to do what you claim he would have done. He would have recognized Vanessa Kissoon and Aubrey Norton influence and worked with them to attract more to the party. Besides, Burnham would not have kept Aubrey Norton out of parliament after being the brainpower behind APNU mobilization for Nomination Day and worked his butt off in Region 10 for the APNU.
You remember the adrenaline flow and that swarm of people marching down the streets and into City Hall to present the Nomination Paper. That was Aubrey Norton's doing. Have you noticed Granger cannot muster more than 20 people at any time to do his local government protests. He threw Norton, the powerhouse of PNC mobilization, away.
You think Granger won Region 10 by magic. It was Sharma Solomon, Vanessa Kissoon, Aubrey Norton, Bad Heart, and others who pulled it off.
You think Burnham would have recoginsed all that skills and treated them bad? You ent know Burnham. You really ent knowing Burnham or just talking for talk sake.
You think too Burnham would disregard the party constitution the way David Granger did, just to get at Vanessa Kissoon? No way! You ent know Burnham, he was smart, way smarter than Granger. If Burnham had to go to Linden and sit on the floor to settle the people story, he would have done it and done it long ago. Burnham understood smart politics requires your supporters backing you not questioning you.
Granger is NO Burnham. Burnham was a class act. Granger cannot put his baby toe in Burnham's shoes

F_Skinner • 9 years ago

Granger is militaristic. Thinks like a soldier - rank tops all. You never question the platoon leader even in the peril of death. Burnham was a skilled politician.

stardust • 9 years ago

F_Skinner........If you look around the world, many military men made the jump to politics after a successful military career(Powell,Churchill,Bush) just to name a few.Burnham was more a Dictator than a skilled politician and he was a control freak. So stop picking on GRANGER.....top military men are groomed for political office if they so choose and Presidents use them to control the message and deliver it.

Packra • 9 years ago

Boy like you like this divide and rule thing, most military men that turn to politics is the root cause of all the wars and destruction of societies all over . Granger must learn to operate different from how he would do in the GDF. He don't have the institution of the defense act that gives him the authority of command , in his present role as the leader of the PNC he must come to grips that he is not in the military and must listen to all side and even give in to the will of the party members.

stardust • 9 years ago

Packra.....in my post I said, unity is strength and division is failure.Since when did Granger become the outcast in Linden. It would be political suicide to alienate Lindeners.I think they are making a mountain out of a mole hill.Right now...Granger's first priority is to bring down the govt and he needs the AFC to help him do that. The APNU doesn't have nothing concrete to offer Lindeners except empty promises.Churchill was a great military man turned politician and became one of the greatest Prime Minister,Britain every produced.LETS NOT THROW GRANGER UNDER THE BUS BEFORE HE GETS A CHANCE TO DRIVE IT!!.

Packra • 9 years ago

Leaders need people to leader when you throw then out into the sea to drown that leader will be a leader of dead people. And Churchill Did Not Show Gross Disrespect To Any Section Of the Labor Party Membership

A MOORE • 9 years ago

That guy just talking for talk sake. They don't know Burnham . They have been hating him since he parted ways with Jagan and the PPP and took all the other Guyanese top Scholars with him to for the PNC. And left the party with only a bunch of racist cane cutters. And so the PPP is until today , a party full of dunces.

F_Skinner • 9 years ago

A MOORE. All the brains in the PNC/APNU? Yet the dunces controlling all the money in Guyana. They build 2 Pradovilles while most of the brains did not have/ caught without their own homes in 1992. Even Burnham's wife did not have a proper place to stay. She was thrown out of her state residence to take up a home with meager amenities at the back of the garden, in shame. You'd better evaluate brains. Don't confuse education with brains - the example should speak for itself.

Packra • 9 years ago

We don't steal people's money and used it as our own get it .

A MOORE • 9 years ago

Bro , I get it that you are not a fan of Burnham or the PNC/APNU. That's fine , that's your right as a citizen. But here you are basically criticizing the Burnham policy which basically allowed many poor Guyanese to acquire land for houses and farming for next to nothing. Or at least the policy was to allow people to lease or squat on state lands and maybe own it at a future date. So people weren't that hung-up on rushing to get deeds or transports to the property the may have had.
Now Guyana is a place with lots and lots of virgin land to be developed. So no one in their wildest dreams could have predicted that a mean-spirited and corrupt Government would emerge and reverse that entire policy and system.
So the fact that PPP came in and evicted many people included Burnham's wife has nothing to do with Brains and Education. It was all about vindictiveness , opportunism and greed. The PPP used murder and threats of murder to drive people off of their property and eventually out of Guyana. And you know it. And that's how Pradoville 1 & 2 came to be.
And the push is on to move more poor people out of Plaisance.
