If their calm exterior means that they look clueless and unsympathetic to those that are concerned for their safety... If ignoring what is really happening and telling bold face lies to the public is maintaining "calm exterior".
You see, not everyone is as dumb as your typical Democrat voter. Some of use aren't even as stupid as the typical Republican voter. Some of us have common sense that goes beyond "Harvard Double Technical Speak".
Example - Professor Carter at Yale (a law professor that claims he has knowledge of economics) came to the grand conclusion that unemployment stemmed from a lack of jobs and that businesses should start hiring to drop the unemployment stats... even if the companies went bankrupt.
This is what passes for intelligence in the Gay Ivy League elite.

The CDC is "projecting a calm exterior". The mainstream news networks will do the exact same thing when World War III breaks out. Don't worry, sports fans and everybody, you'll still be able to watch the "Big Game", "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Biggest Loser". (The title "The Biggest Loser" more accurately describes the entire abysmally stupid population of the United States than it ever could a television series).
