As always, great post Dean. I too enjoy the mental gymnastics that are required to participate in these Twitter chats. While it is often fun and humorous, it does require critical thinking and creativity. Yesterday's Twitter entertainment was #techsongtitles. Patting myself on the back for "Highway to Helvetica."

I enjoyed reading your post. You have a unique view on Twitter and I liked picking your brain. I also believe that Twitter shouldn't be the only social media site out there. You can only say so much in 140 characters.

Great post - I'm still struggling with the whole social media stuff though :-(

It's hard to know whether to embrace it in my field ie legal. http://www.findonlegal.co.uk

What would you say?

Good piece Dean. I recently reflected on the power of Twitter. http://readingwritingrespon... There are some out there such as Mark Barnes who suggest that everyone should be on Twitter. I felt that simply connecting on Twitter limits the relationship that you are able to build. However, I feel that you add another perspective. I think that such play and creativity may help to build a more human side that is sometimes hard to do in 140 characters.

I like using Twitter for a range of different things- personal expression, creativity, sharing and gathering resources, and of course seeing pictures of cute baby animals. I love how twitter can be used in fun ways like at weddings. I was at a wedding this weekend and the couple used their name as the hashtag and projected their guests tweets throughout the night on the big screen. It was cool to see friends and family sharing in their special day online, and it gave the people who couldn't make it a chance to send their best wishes and be apart of the wedding. Now the couple can have those tweets and pictures as another way to remember that day.
