It's so rare that our government does anything sensible anymore. Thanks for restoring just a tiny bit of faith! Now just several million more tiny steps and we might get back to actually appreciating our government instead of tolerating it because we feel we have no alternative.

TREATMENT CENTERS are full of addicts of MAN-MADE drugs like cocaine, meth, ALCOHOL, and legal prescription drugs while those drugs and highs made by NATURE, like marijuana and coca leaves, usually just mind their own business but many of them are incarcerated.
Monies spent on Marijuana is in the hundred$ for a small amount. This money should instead be used to help the economy NOT DRUG LORDS!
Now, LEGALIZE MARIJUANA and leave half of America alone to partake in NATURE'S GIFT TO HUMANS!

And why stop at marijuana? Nobody has a right to tell me who I can love, who I can marry, and what I can put into my own body. It's amazing we've put up with it for so long.
I agree. It has made great strides in science and medicine. Plus legalizing it will only deter the drug trade. Dr Gupta had a pretty good article about admitting he was wrong about it.
Yeah, I understand the logic, let's get the cartels out of the mj trade. That way we can free up their time and all the money they have to really pump up the hard drug trade. Do you really think they are going to just take their money and go home when pot is legalized?

I think MJ is the lions share of the drug trade. So I think it would make a huge dent into the cartels profits. If legalized, the MJ smokers would grow their own. It don't get cheaper than that. Now if we can figure out how to keep people who are high (MJ or Alcohol) out of their cars, it really would be utopia for some.
I don't support legalizing marijuana. Pro-marijuana advocates use the medicinal/drug-cartel slants to further their own personal agenda of getting high - recreationally. How backwards is that America?!?!??
Promoting more impairment in America when we're already dealing with beleaguered problems ranging from alcohol, tobacco, and prescription drugs in communities all across America?? That doesn't sound encouraging. It sounds irresponsible.

No one is forcing you to use marijuana if you don't want to just like alcohol.
No one is forcing people to get on the roads after they're too drunk to safely operate a vehicle, but it kills 10,000 people a year. You're telling me with a budget of three trillion dollars a year, our government can't keep high/drunk people off the roads and protect innocent citizens?
The interesting thing is, most marijuana users can THINK enough to say they don't WANT to drive a vehicle. Alcohol literally shuts that thinking process down at a certain point.

ya that's just untrue. we have very different experiences with marijuana users. Because many of my friends say they actually drive BETTER when stoned. stupid people are everywhere though and it's no reason to not legalize it

lol, you dont know anything about marijuana other than what the government has told you. Do you realize some of the greatest inventors and thinkers in history used drugs? A few are Thomas Edison, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Charles Dickens, Grover Cleveland, Winston Churchill, Ben Franklin, the list is a mile long.

yes we know a lot about it, and the medical studies that have come out of other countries about it's benefits. Our government has been too busy criminalizing it because big Pharm companies do not like the thought of something you can grow in a planter, not enough profits and they are the ones pushing lobbyist to push congress to keep spreading the lie that it is a schedule one substance, when indeed it is not.
