The guy is a millionaire CEO they don't go after the managers.
It didn't take long at all by-election voters; did it? Thanks a lot...
The usual stupid comment from an idiot. Money is not the issue here; management is. But of course you are too stupid to know that...
If you don't like democracy move to north Korea. The WR party had deep flaws as evidenced by their turncoat MLAs who crossed the floor after being elected... So much for by elections. Oil is an international commodity you dolt, and the falling price is influenced by more than just the Alberta PC party.
Yup. The Alberta PC party that couldn't save a penny or put a penny into infrastructure or help seniors when oil was at $130 a barrel. Fk you're stupid.
I never said that I didn't support democracy genius. If anyone is a dolt here that would be you. Falling oil prices are being used as an excuse here - the speech is specifically designed to plant the idea of a lower standard of government. This technique is called Autosuggestion. But of course you are way too stupid to know that.
Anyway, why should North Korea be the only choice for those who don't like democracy? Or is that the only country that your very small fragile weak mind could come up with?
There love for a corrupt party is so strong that they cant even see the obvious. Its really sad , reminds me of an alcoholic blaming all the issues on everyone but themselves.
It has not gone un-noticed by me that everybody is supposed to prepare for pain - except for those who will cause it!
Getting rid of an air fleet, talking about hospitals, etc... was all for show. The real work is going to be the same old same old. And apparently if you don't like it, you are a dolt who should move to North Korea...
No, if you are going to blame voters in a democracy for having a different opinion you should try living in a country with another form of government, you dolt. North Korea was just the first one to come to mind. You all know this is a free country and you can move to another province right?? Don't like Alberta, go try somewhere else... Oh wait, you probably have a job, a second vehicle, expensive toys and hobbies, hhhmmm, better just stay here and bitch then!!
I was born here. I live very frugally thank you. I have paid more in taxes than you have ever seen money in your lifetime. Where should I go then, dear half-witted moron?
First, if you have paid more taxes than I have seen money then you are obviously making good wages due to living in Alberta! Thanks for making my point!
Second, nobody cares where you were born.
Third, we don't care where you go, but if you don't like it here, get the heck out!
Fourth, don't sit by your device of choice waiting for comments, get a damn life.
What an idiot. I don't 'make wages'. I have money and I pay taxes. How does that make your point for you idiot?
Secondly, my mother cares where I was born, my father, as do I... It was a big day.
You are a complete waste of garbage. I have a life. I have everything that I want. I suppose that you have nothing and that is why you are making these idiotic comments.
I will be opening a bottle of wine this evening that you have never heard of - or could ever hope to afford. It will taste even better now.
Thanks...
Oh, so you were born rich with a silver spoon in your mouth! Well that makes it easier to sit back and whine while everyone else goes out and works hard to eke out a living. You should have said that earlier so everyone could be more careful about your sensitive feelings. My mistake, No wonder you don't care about democracy.
Wrong again mental midget. I earned everything that I have. I left home when I was eighteen and retired when I was 36.
You have no idea what you are talking about. I feel sorry for you. But not enough to care all that much...
Too bad that you seem to think that democracy means that everyone should be held to the lowest common denominator.
Chew on that bone. It might help you.
You are welcome...
Wow!! You have completely won me over with your witty repartee and I have completely come to appreciate your point of view. I fully capitulate and bow down to your superior knowledge, awesome business acumen, and astounding physical presence. Referring to your original comment, which you have obviously forgotten while managing your hard earned millions and drinking expensive wine, I too want to tell the voters in the recent by elections "that didn't take long". Letting them know, as you did, that I feel they failed in their supposed democratic duty because they didn't vote the way you and I feel they should have.
Nice try at re-writing history. You told me that I didn't believe in democracy. I absolutely do. To quote Winston Churchill 'Democracy is the best form of all the worst forms of government'...
I may have quoted it poorly, but you see the point. On the other hand you are a weird little creepy person that thinks that everybody who doesn't agree with you should move to North Korea... What a putz...
Go re-read your original comment dopey!! I will paraphrase here, while imagining your whiny, privileged, sniveling tone: "thanks a lot byelection voters". Now, back to reality, as long as they made an informed decision based on THEIR idea of what's best for the province I support their decision and thank them for performing a vital service to our democracy, regardless of who they voted for. The majority has spoken! Alberta, love it or leave it. In your case, the sooner the better!
His mind couldn't even come up with that. He had to wake up his mom and ask her.
Mom must have gone back to sleep I guess. Because rcd2 never got back to me...
No..there's Venezuela who sits atop oil yet they live like pigs
Save your breath. Art is a rich, privileged snob who believes that only his opinion and vote should count. And yet, he professes to like democracy. Weird eh? I think he might be Kim Jong Un using an assumed name because he is also strangely defensive regarding North Korea for some reason.
Blame WR????? They have not now nor have they ever had any say in how the BILLIONS were wasted in this province.
They are actually the reason that even more isn't being wasted. When are people going to catch on?
Who you blame is the party in charge and spending the money. They base all there spending off a high oil price when the reality of that price is that it goes up and down at any given time. This issue is as much the fault of the WR as it is the Ford motor company or my paper boy. Nice try though.
Yup. HEY PRENTASS I can quit spending my money and budget...can you quit spending my money and budget?
Let's not forget about Mandel. He helped ruin a city. He has done irreparable damage to Edmonton. And his reward? Given the job of doing his evil work on the health care system... Absolutely un-effing incredible...
BLAH BLAH BLAH..every time cuts need to be made ..and they must ..you swine on the left puke out the same crap..find a new song to puke to
I hope you're wrong. I am a disabled, disadvantaged, elderly, occasional student. You're NOT making me feel all warm and fuzzy...
I'm curious, did you spell it "buy-elections" deliberately, or what? It's pretty funny and very accurate.
Yes but I can't take credit, I saw it and copied
Prentice says that this low oil price scenario will last for more than a year. More than a year ago oil analysts were predicting this very occurrence. Its funny how those tall heads in Edmonton couldn't make adjustments to their budgets for the current year based on analytical projections and save the sustainability fund for the next year. Of course that would be a prudent act. Right now we in this province still operate under voodoo accounting rules, designed by Doug "three card monte" Horner. Prentice promised to change that, but still reports under voodoo. PC's spend a full one third more per capita than our neighbours to the west. Ask yourself....are you getting one third more than BC folks for that money?
You can't have smart without stup!d, eh?
If only you could have ,'' smart.''
Royalites are direct hit to the bottom line of the companies that SPEND the billions of dollars each year drilling wells, building facilities and then maintaining them. I guess if they go to other places to spend their money, the provincial government can try doing all that. Royalties, as Stelmach found out, are only part of the economic benefit Alberta gets. The biggest benefit is a province with a low unemployment rate, people working, paying taxes, buying goods and products.
Boy, talk about dumb. Corporations DO pay they taxes they owe. And as for oil royalties, Red Ed tried that little trick and the industry moved to B.C. and Saskatchewan. Sorry, Comrade.....but you have been living in a dream world all along.
Another incredibly stupid comment. You clearly don't understand reality. I usually try to educate the aggressively ignorant, but you are beyond hope.
And your socialist buddies in City Hall will wring every penny out of us in tax hikes to make up for the percieved injustice.
If you think there's so much money in oil and gas get your union buddies to ante up and start a company. You wouldn't last a week!
If you think upping royalties while the price is in the toilet will do anything other than cost thousands of jobs you better think again. The ONLY time that should ever be brought up is when oil is well over $1 a barrel.
I'm a bit confused, oil has lost more than 30% lately yet the price at the pump has only adjusted marginally. As the Government is a huge benefactor of taxes on fuel are they not collecting more taxes than they should be? Are their balance sheets not rosier than reality suggests?
The price of gasoline has dropped from about $1.30 per litre about 5 months ago and the price now is $1.00 per litre. And the producers of oil are not necessarily the producers of gasoline. In case you missed it, there is a step or two between getting oil out of the ground and into your car.
You clearly are confused. Perhaps educating yourself would be a good first step to becoming "unconfused".
Perhaps you should read your initial comment. You said "oil has lost more than 30% lately yet the price at the pump has only adjusted marginally". So you are wrong on that concept. Your comment about collecting "more taxes than they should", is equally incorrect. They collect the taxes that are legislated.
the Provincial tax is .09 cents/litre and the Federal tax is .10 cents/litre. That is the tax regardless of the price. The only tax that would reflect a lower base price is the 5% GST they hit us with as well.
And it has been that way for years. You are floundering on your comment about oil losing 30% and gasoline not following.
not floundering at all. Just mentioning that about 19 cents/litre is not going to chnge regardless of how low the price of oil goes.
