I don't need a journalist to tell me the world is less safe. I need a journalist who digs for the story and uncovers the truth, like the old days.

carsrus • 9 years ago

These fetid "msm" left wing, liberal-progressive neo-commies only go after Republicans….they let democRATS off, scott free. obama is the worse (president) ever, and history will treat the bastard as he's treated US with utter distain!

Well you can tell at least woodward and bernstein are uncomfortable with the LSM. Truth is those two are too old to make good investigative reports here in 2014.

I heard Bernstein railing against GW at U MD commencement ceremony....demanding to know 'who knew what when' about WMD's. I was flabbergasted...but that's what they do. So...I suspect both are embarrassed now by the LSM and the lack of hard questions, much less intensive digging into the WH's story lines....

Government is clearly less sane under 0bama. Also.

Yes, those Republicans did take over the congress, but don't worry. The Oval Office will remain Democrat

sipius • 9 years ago

A clear understatement from Mr. Woodward. New York City, Peoria and Americas streets are less safe with Obola.

daniel • 9 years ago

Even the white house is less safe under obozo.

Zorf • 9 years ago

Who was President during 9/11?

And who invaded the wrong country to make us "more safe"?

daniel • 9 years ago

A Democrat, FDR, Pearl Harbor.

Jcendio • 9 years ago

To all whom would wish to check their historical geography, Pearl Harbour and Hawaii were at the time of the attack, not considered U.S. soil. It was not until Hawaii officially became a state, that Pearl Harbour officially became U.S. soil.

daniel • 9 years ago

For any of those who attended public schools, any American base is considered U.S. soil. Even an aircraft carrier is considered sovereign U.S. territory.

singlestack • 9 years ago

Pretty sure Hawaii was a U.S. Territory at the time. And the base at Pearl was certainly US soil. I don't care what anybody thinks.

Berceuse • 9 years ago

Hawaii became U.S. territory on 7 July 1898.

FYI I am a Brit who came down (graduated from as a yank would claim) from Harrow (think Churchilll alma mater), Cambridge(7th generation) and both are hardly government schools. Add to the C.V., an M.A. in International Relations from The Uni Of Geneva, and an MBA from the University of Heidelberg, these two are hardly government schools. Where was your education picked up, travelling with a pack of wolves perhaps?

mikeincanada • 9 years ago

Aren't you "up yourself"?
All that education - and not an ounce of common sense.

Guest • 9 years ago

Yanks are masculine.

You all still have a QUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!

Jcendio • 9 years ago

Listen up Sparky, you were the elitist who took the rather condescending tone toward government schools, which was rather an insult to those on this thread who did attend such schools. As for your idiotic remark regarding the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour, that does not even warrant a semblance of response, and proves that, you were indeed educated by wolves. Perhaps you should rejoin your pack

The US spends more money on education than any industrialized country yet we rank middle of the pack as far as results. It's obvious we are not getting our monies worth! Another government agency screwing up!!!

M_Baker • 9 years ago

It was also a Democrat who ended the war.

Pete Dammann • 9 years ago

It was a Democrat and Democratic Congress that passed the Social Security Act of 1965 therefore making Social Security a Ponzi Scheme and worst return of your retirement investment dollar ever. It was a Democrat that started it (FDR). Sucks to be not only stupid but a Democrat!

M_Baker • 9 years ago

Yes, and what a great act it turned out to be so that we no longer see the elderly living in poverty. Now they contribute during their working years to a fund that pays them after they retire. Nothing unfair about that or unjust about SS, especially now that companies are dropping their retirement programs.

Better than you think. Have you seen how much the economy has grown under Obama as compared to Bush who got us in a recession? Have you also noticed how unemployment has decreased, and how much higher the DOW is doing as compared to when Bush was in office?

Go ahead and filter out the facts you don't want to know, and keep listening to the FOX's propaganda.

Pete Dammann • 9 years ago

Median income down, lowest labor participation rate since the second worst president in my lifetime. 8 trillion more in debt. This president is a lying ass POS.....period!

M_Baker • 9 years ago

Please provide links to what you claimed and then explain how the Republican and other conservatives are not responsible for it. The recession started under Bush who took over a robust economy from Clinton and handed Obama a recession for him to fix.

Give me one congressional investigation committee that found any wrong doing by the White House. You're just another brainwashed FOX viewer who only knows what they decide to tell you.

Guest • 9 years ago
M_Baker • 9 years ago

B.S. , the Republican Congressional Committees could find no wrong doing on the part of the White House and never gave that BS excuse you gave for not finding any. Just ask Issa what he found during all of his investigations. You're just listening to the propaganda FOX has tried to push without any proof behind any of what they said and ended up with egg on their face. Their low information viewers somehow never hear any thing different than what they hear on Fox, and are just like you misinformed and brainwashed by FOX.

Guest • 9 years ago
M_Baker • 9 years ago

Yes, go ahead and look up what Issa has concluded in any of his investigations, and finally learn that he has admitted that he hasn't found any evidence of wrong doing by the White House. Also, if Issa hasn't ended any of his investigations as you claim, he will have to in about 20 days since he will no longer have an investigative committee to head after the new Congress comes in.

Again, just another low information FOX viewer with no facts to respond to my question with, so in his desperation he feebly attempts to turn the question around without having one fact behind him. You also probably claim yourself as a "Constitutional Conservative" what ever that is, but only believes in the parts of the Constitution that he agrees with.

And no, I am not a MSNBC viewer, but nice try. I get my news from many sources, and even from FOX, although I don't put much faith in what they say. Because Fox has a well proven and well known history of distorting the facts and of lying by omission. At least three studies that I know of have found FOX viewers to be less informed than those who don't listen to the news at all. Another recent study just came out that showed FOX lies or misrepresents to facts to their viewers three times higher than any other network or cable news station. If you would like to know who did the studies, I'll provide the links for you, but chances are even though two of the studies done by two separate university's, you'll resort to what most Fox viewers do by claiming they're all lies because they can't stand to hear the truth.

Also, I'm done trying to intelligently debate your substance free comments, and will stop wasting any more of my time responding back or reading your comments. See ya!

M_Baker • 9 years ago

Really, then why didn't you state them in your reply if you gave several facts. Please restate them so I can see what you're trying to call facts.

Guest • 9 years ago
M_Baker • 9 years ago

You wouldn't have to write anything over and over again if you had used any facts to begin with, so since you didn't there is nothing to rewrite.

Have you also seen the news today about the demographic changes that are occurring in the listeners of CNN, MSNBC, and FOX? Go find the news article and read it for yourself, but I will give just a brief synopses of what was found by the Nielson{sp?} ratings people. While FOX only has 1% of black viewers, MSNBC has about 28% of black viewers, and CNN has a similar high number but not as high as MSNBC. Also, MSNBC was the only cable outlet that got a hispanic increase of all of the other cable news sources. Since both you and I know that MSNBC is a liberal website, what do you think this means for the Republicans? If you don't know let me make it clear to you, the Democrats are continuing to get an increasing number of minority voters which is bad news to an already dying Republican party. Or in other words, the Democrats will increasingly be finding themselves in control of the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. The conservatives have a bleak future ahead, and your way of thinking will die out sooner than later.

No, he still would have been a Democrat since he represented the middle class, and was not a strong supporter of business over the best interest of the middle class, like todays Republican's are. I can just hear what Truman would say about people like the Koch brothers and their influence in politics if he was alive today.

twmon9816 • 9 years ago

God you're an idiot. Who has been making money hand over fist with this "President"? Wall street Einstein. Themiddle class is shrinking and median income is down and you're stupid enough to come here and brag the new communist, I mean the democrats are for the middle class. I want what you're smoking.

Pete Dammann • 9 years ago

Just like nitwit Elizabeth Warren bashing corporations. Who the heck owns corporations? We do through our retirement plans. Who pays the taxes? We do! The consumer. Democrats are full of sh*t. I'm a libertarian!

It appears you're at a loss to bring any facts to the table, but instead give the only thing you actually know how to do, and that is by responding with childish name calling. Childish name calling only shows your maturity level, and the fact you don't have an intelligent response to reply with.

Pete Dammann • 9 years ago

How many employees do the Koch brothers employ? I'm sure they have different take!
