Everyone blaming police this, police that

First of all this is a racial issue not a police issue. Blacks kill each other every day in the ghettos but no one says anything but the minute a white person especially a cop does it, then its time to loot, kill, murder all in the name of justice.

To me this is just an excuse waiting to happen - what kind of people behave like this when they have some grievance? Not your tax paying citizen, not your law abiding citizen but those who are hell bent in making sure to send a message..

This is not a police matter, this is a race matter and the sooner the liberals wake up the better. Isn't it interesting to hear these retired police chiefs criticizing police actions today, yet when they were at the helm they did what they were told. It's those that are still active that need to get religion.

I read these comments and I am struck by the constant refrain ... "we should pass some law to do something". Just exactly who do you think will pass those laws, or limit the government ... are you hoping the government will do it? The time is long passed for us to hope the government will do anything but increase it's control over you, us. At some point the nation will reach a boiling point and the riots will turn to outright warfare. It won't look like war, it will be war. They know it, that's why they do what they do right now, to make us feel weak and helpless in the face of big men with armor and guns. My grandfather stood as a farmer against the most powerful military on earth during the Revolution. NOW is the time to prepare, study about groups who have waged this kind of war before, buy your guns and ammo, but study, because we won't be standing toe to toe, it will be hit and run.

It's good to hear from someone with backbone once and while. Yes, it will be asymmetrical guerrilla warfare. These cops have to wake up and mutiny at some point before this goes too far. Otherwise they will be attacked in their homes at night while they sleep. Count on it.

Police arrest and hold SUSPECTS for trial and sententing. Militarized police prosecute the enemy serving as judge jury and executioner. Militarized police IS facism.

The main problem is based on how they are trained. They aren't trained to think and act like police officers anymore. Instead they dress and act like soldiers. The problem with this is that soldiers need an enemy and since" we the people" Are the only candidates for the police then we become that enemy. We've seen time after time these officers shooting our dogs with little to no provocation. Is it any wonder, since they get away with it, that they see nothing wrong with turning the gun barrels on us now? This is a huge problem that we the people are going to have fix at some point and the sooner the better. I'm not saying that police can't have swat teams, but not every situation requires an iron fist.

Actually, we have some macho thugs in the police who can only wish they were Navy Seals and Special Ops so they live vicariously by pretending they are.

Making matters worse is obviously the goal here, regardless of the officers involved being aware of it or not. Manufacturing opposition is what this does. The bloated budget of these institutions can not be justified without some cause. THAT is why its done.

One of the fundamental problems is police, in any of their capacities, pointing a loaded weapon at anyone. We are all trained, from childhood, never to point a gun at anything unless you intend to shoot it. By pointing a gun at a person, someone that has been conventionally instructed, assumes that the police intend to fire. My initial reaction may be to comply however my "post incident" reaction is to be highly pis..ed off that someone pointed a gun- you never forget that. Never point a weapon at anyone unless you intend to use it or you just want to pis. people off.

Police have become too aggressive. They are trained that you are the scum buckets and that their lives are far more important. Throw in the armor, weapons, authority, and ego......and you got a serious problem.

So called wars these days are considered global police actions, so is it any surprise that Americas police forces are mimicking those actions.

Wow, good for the former chief. There was a psychopath on CSpan yesterday talking about the rescue of the Kurds off the mountain in Iraq. He fielded a question about the Ferguson riots and was callous and pure evil about the weaponry and equipment the Pentagon is providing our local police.

Personally, I don't believe the cop should have wasted the kid. I mean if the cop's life was in danger at the time, that's a different situation. If the suspect really pushed the cop, and went for his gun, with the cop being able to recover, while the assault was still taking place, that's when killing the guy would have been justified. However, since the suspect was running away with his arms in the air, and the cop wasn't in danger anymore, he should have made a better effort subduing the kid without killing him, maybe tasing him, or at least trying to shoot him in the leg or in the ass. I doubt it would have been that hard. It's mainly the screwed up manner in which the police are being trained these days. It almost seems like they're all being trained or directed to eliminate many of these suspects to avoid any potential risk of
lawsuit from some exposed wrong doing. I could be wrong. It could be that the cops of today just feel like they can get better results through coercion, and walking around with a short fuse, abusing the population like they're on some puffed up, steroid induced head trip with chips on their shoulders, and poor impulse control. The cops that i've talked to, get uncontrollably upset when asked about this, and being compared to the police from the first half of the twentieth century. They always seem to bring up the issue of the lack of respect that they're getting these days. The thing is, there wasn't near the amount of corruption back then, that there is today, and most cops back then were closer to most of the people in general. They showed the majority of the people some degree of respect, and most of the people had a much greater respect for the police. Hopefully, some day soon, the police will come to realize this, and change their approach to law enforcement.

Your absolutely right. I'm basing my comment on what the P.D. has said so far, which hadn't been much. Now, as of this morning, here comes a lot more info. I'm hearing the cop was investigating a strong arm robbery where he was the suspect, and there is a video. In the robbery, they said that there was no weapon. Now as I'm speaking, they are saying that the cop was injured in the scuffle. You would think, that the P.D. would have released some of that info before all that violence broke out. I still think, if the cop was out of danger, and the suspect was running away, it would been better to just wing him, but that's me. Who knows how the cop was injured, and how bad though.

Now it's later on. It turns out it was a different cop that stopped the suspect, who didn't even know he was a robbery suspect. He was stopped for walking in the middle of the street. To me this chief shouldn't be saying anything about this case, since he can't get his facts straight, he doesn't appear to know much of anything. He sat on the video for some reason He's stammering and shaking as he's talking. I don't care what anyone else thinks. I wouldn't trust this guy for shit, and if the rest of them, like those puffed up cops behind this guy, who are back there trying to look as tough as they can, are anything like this chief, well... They just seem like a bunch of fk ups. We're outta here, over and out.
